00:00A 27-year-old Beetham Gardens woman was fatally shot and her boyfriend injured when a gunman opened fire on

00:08According to reports, the woman, Monica Carey, and her 30-year-old boyfriend, Isaiah Crookshank,
00:14had just left her boyfriend's Manahambury Road, Princess Town, home around 12.05 a.m.
00:20May 2nd later, gunshots rang out in the community.
00:23Police reports suggest while driving, a vehicle exited the Manahambury branch trace, blocking the couple's car.
00:29Two masked gunmen exited and began shooting at the car before driving off.
00:34The couple was rushed to hospital, but Carey succumbed to her injuries.
00:37Her boyfriend remains in a stable condition.
00:40TV6 News was told the couple operated a mini-mart at the Princess Town home,
00:44and relatives say they were confused over why anyone would want either of them dead.
00:49Investigations are continuing.
