00:00This is weird, right? Like, like standing in this in a winter jacket and a hat in early May is
00:06weird, but it's not completely uncommon for this part of the country. Welcome folks here. We are in southern Wyoming
00:12just outside of Cheyenne for what is going to be a hefty winter storm here in the middle of springtime
00:19as we've already seen several inches of accumulation here in the Cheyenne area. Folks in Wyoming have already seen certain
00:25road closures thanks to the snow and occasionally some of that wind blowing some of the snow
00:29around. This is a heavy wet snow that has fallen here throughout the day on Tuesday and will continue to
00:35until Wednesday. Now folks in Colorado, you're next in line for this. This storm is working its way across the
00:42region right now. We are seeing that snow, that cold air starting to filter into northern Colorado already have seen
00:48several inches of snow in places just to the north of Fort Collins. We're going to start to see that
00:52really start to pile up as we get later into the evening overnight and even into tomorrow morning where we're
00:58going to be expecting that
00:59heavy snow to continue. Winter storm warnings in effect for folks Denver, Fort Collins, Boulder down to Castle Rock up
01:06into Cheyenne. So this whole area along the I-25 corridor likely to get in on some pretty hefty totals.
01:12Places out in the higher elevations to the west and the mountains could be looking at feet of snow out
01:17of this early spring system. Now we will say it has been a very dry, desperate winter season here across
01:24the region. So this moisture, while not typical for this time of year, is more
01:29than welcome out here. Reporting from Southern Wyoming for AccuWeather, I'm meteorologist Tony Lawback.
