00:07after U.S. President Donald Trump said the military would begin guiding stranded vessels out of the Gulf today.
00:15Trump says the operation, dubbed Project Freedom, is a humanitarian effort claiming some ships are running low on food.
00:24Spokesman for the Iran's Armed Forces Major General Ali Abdullah, he said,
00:29Iran will protect the security of the Strait with full strength.
00:33Its navy also said it has prevented what it called enemy destroyers from entering the waterway today.
00:41Around 20,000 seafarers and 2,000 ships have been unable to leave the Strait since the conflict began,
00:49according to the head of the International Maritime Organization.
00:52But Iran's military says it controls the waterway and warns it will target any foreign armed forces entering the area,
01:00especially U.S. forces.
01:03The U.S. military says its operation will involve guided missile destroyers,
01:08more than 100 land- and sea-based aircraft and around 15,000 personnel.
