00:00Gabungan Rakyat Sabah may move to table a motion on Sabah's 40% revenue entitlement at the State Assembly
00:07if Pucca Jaya has not implemented a new special grant rate by the next sitting,
00:12says Deputy Secretary General Armizan Muhammad Ali.
00:15He said discussions would be held with government-aligned assemblymen
00:19and the move could also include tabling cabinet minutes and official correspondence
00:23from the former Warisan State Government in 2019.
00:27Armizan said the documents showed that the then-State Administration
00:30had agreed to a review of the special grant under Article 112C of the Federal Constitution
00:36at only RM53.4 million.
00:39Armizan said the error of those actions should be etched in the handsart for the public to see.
00:45He was responding to Kapayan Assemblyman Chin Tek Ming of Warisan
00:49who said the rejection of his private member's motion on the 40% entitlement
00:54showed a lack of political will to secure Sabah's constitutional rights.
00:59Armizan said the decision was made under the Speaker's authority
01:02and should not be seen as the state government abandoning the claim.
01:06He also pointed to what he called contradictions in Warisan's position,
01:10including the party's August 2019 statement that it was not appropriate
01:14to take the 40% claim against the federal government to court.
01:19Armizan said he was confident the current federal government
01:22would seriously consider Sabah's request,
01:24adding that the state was targeting an increase in the special grant
01:28from RM600 million to at least RM3 billion annually as an initial step.
