00:01Caretaker Chief Minister Haji Ji Noor said the Sabah government will engage Pucca Jaya to implement a High Court order affirming its constitutional right to a 40% share of federal revenue collected from the state.
00:13In welcoming the Kota Kinabalu High Court's decision today, Haji Ji said the state will pursue its constitutional entitlement in a spirit of cooperation and mutual respect.
00:23Haji Ji said the state had pressed its claim relentlessly through every formal channel at every Malaysia Agreement 1963 meeting and in countless letters sent to the federal government.
00:35Earlier today, the Kota Kinabalu High Court ruled that the federal government acted unlawfully by failing to honour the Sabah's constitutional entitlement to the 40% revenue share for nearly five decades.
00:46Meanwhile, former Sabah Law Society President Roger Chin hailed the Sabah government's vital contribution to the case.
00:55He praised the Haji Ji-led state government for its persistence in asserting Sabah's constitutional rights, describing the ruling as a turning point for the state.
