00:00Upco President Iwan Benedict has questioned DAP Secretary-General Lok Siu-Fuk's commitment to defending Sabah's 40% revenue entitlement after Lok said he was merely playing to the gallery by resigning from the Cabinet.
00:14Iwan told Lok that he consistently raised the issue in Cabinet discussions in late 2022, 2023 and 2024, as well as after the Kota Kinabalu High Court's decision on October 17.
00:27Iwan questioned whether Lok had defended Sabah's 40% entitlement or demanded its immediate implementation in Cabinet, adding that he already knew the answer.
00:37He also responded to Lok's suggestion that he should have challenged the Attorney-General on the issue.
00:42Noting that the Attorney-General had attended multiple Cabinet meetings, Iwan said he used one of the meetings to propose tabling a bill in Parliament on Sabah's 40% revenue entitlement.
00:52Iwan resigned last week as Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister, citing the Attorney-General's chamber's position on a high court ruling that the federal government had acted unlawfully by failing to honor Sabah's 40% share of the state's net federal revenue for nearly five decades.
