00:00Kabungan Rakyat Sabah has assured Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim that it will continue to hold constructive and respectful engagements with Pucca Jaya to regain the state's 40% share of federal revenue.
00:14In reaffirming this commitment, the GRS Presidential Council also expressed its support for Anwar as Prime Minister, describing him as inclusive, open, and having genuine regard for Sabahans.
00:27The Council highlighted that through engagements between Anwar and the GRS-led state government over the past three years, 13 of the 29 demands under the Malaysia Agreement 1963 have been fulfilled.
00:41Despite these achievements, it urged the federal government against appealing the Kota Kinabalu High Court's October 17th decision ruling that Pucca Jaya acted unlawfully by failing to honour Sabah's 40% share of federal revenue for nearly five decades.
00:57The coalition's top leadership said this was not merely a legal issue, but a matter of honouring the constitution, particularly Articles 112c and 112d, which formed the basis of Sabah's agreement to form Malaysia with Sarawak and Malaya.
01:13It noted that failure to channel Sabah the revenue it was due had forced ordinary Sabahans to live with constant power and water cuts, unpaved roads, and poor access to quality public healthcare.
