00:00Former Sabah Law Society President Roger Chin has called on the federal government
00:05to release a clear breakdown of revenue collected from Sabah,
00:10repayments under Article 112c of the federal constitution,
00:14and ordinary federal spending to clarify the state's 40% entitlement.
00:19Chin was commenting on remarks by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim,
00:22who yesterday suggested that Pucca Jaya had already been allocating more funds to Sabah than it collects in revenue.
00:30Anwar, in response, said that RM10 billion was collected from Sabah,
00:34while RM17 billion was channeled back through federal spending.
00:38However, Chin argued that federal spending should be treated separately
00:42from the government's constitutional obligations to Sabah.
00:46In a statement today, he said money spent on schools, hospitals, roads or security
00:51is part of the federal government's duty to all Malaysians under the federal system,
00:56not part of the 40% special grant owed specifically to Sabah.
01:01The Attorney General's chambers had said that it would study the Kota Kinabalu High Court's
01:05October 17 ruling before taking further action.
01:09Panyu Jo, FMT.
