00:00KC Masterpiece right here on 105.3 The Fan, where Josh Young has been freaking incredible.
00:07And I will credit the continued success this week to the G-Bag bump.
00:11We talk about that all the time, especially for Rangers players that come on there.
00:14They get the G-Bag bump.
00:16There is one notable exception.
00:17But for the most part, they get the bump off of that.
00:21Kevin, from the 601, Daniel just hit a dollar on the Price is Right wheel spin, guys.
00:26Oh!
00:26Nice work, Daniel!
00:28We missed it!
00:28Then he hit 15K on the second spin!
00:31Thank you very much for keeping us updated on this.
00:34We really appreciate this.
00:35It was a couple months ago where somebody had 95 cents and then somebody else hit a dollar
00:39and we were all freaking out.
00:40We lost our damn minds.
00:41Hey, we celebrate good things.
00:43Exactly.
00:43Right now, let's fire up, hopefully this is a good thing, some baseball nuggets.
00:50And I want to start with this.
00:51Did you see the situation yesterday that Wyatt Langford had been talking about?
00:55He had originally was hoping to play in a rehab game today and tomorrow.
01:01But the weather forecast for AAA Round Rock and Corpus Christi, where AA Frisco was going
01:08to play, were both sketchy.
01:10So he might not be able to get into those games because they don't have the retractable roof
01:14that usually stays closed.
01:16And so those games could theoretically be rained out.
01:19And the Rangers had considered trying to get him a simulated game in Arlington, but there's
01:25an event at Globe Life Field that would probably prohibit that.
01:29So he's like, I'm trying to get the work in, but weather and other events are conspiring
01:34against him.
01:35It's a lot of weather day.
01:37He's eligible to come back on Saturday.
01:42So weather day, huh?
01:44I think more of the weather outside.
01:50Who do you think controls that?
01:52Sometimes you.
01:53Because you say you can tell if it's going to rain.
01:55I can tell you if it is or not.
01:56Just by going outside.
01:57By looking up in the sky.
01:58I can't tell you that I can't control it.
02:02I can just predict it.
02:03Okay.
02:04Well.
02:04I can't be like, hey, it's not going to rain, and then be like, now I'm going to make
02:09it rain.
02:10That's not how it works.
02:10And that segues into my biggest surprises and disappointments of the season thus far.
02:15Disappointment, Corey Majors, for not being able to control the weather.
02:19Also disappointment.
02:21Yet.
02:21Oh.
02:22Until they give me access on my phone and the app.
02:24The WAP.
02:25That doesn't mean anything else.
02:27So 16 people from MLB.com voted about who's going to win each division.
02:3415 voted for the Mariners in the American League West, and one other person voted for the A's.
02:39That AL executive said this, the league is starting to take notice of the A's, whether
02:45they want to or not.
02:47True.
02:48So I like that idea.
02:49They're like, we can't have a freaking team that plays in a minor league ballpark winning
02:53this division.
02:54Can you imagine if they went to the playoffs, maybe the World Series in that ballpark?
03:00You know what?
03:01I had not considered this.
03:03I am now changing my thoughts about everything.
03:05I want the Rangers, of course, first and foremost.
03:08Of course.
03:08If for any reason the Rangers aren't in the playoffs, I would like the A's to be in the
03:15World Series.
03:16So they have to do their showcase at that S-can field of theirs.
03:20You think they'd move it?
03:22Yes, I do.
03:23You think they'd be like, Vegas, go ahead and get this thing done now?
03:25I think they would move it somewhere, and I think that would prove the fallacy of this
03:29entire experiment if there's like, hey, there's a lot of people watching.
03:33We need to get this the hell out of here.
03:34All those new Sacramento fans that are A's fans wearing the A's gear, they're like, hold
03:40on, you're telling us now we have to fly two days to get to a new stadium?
03:45What if?
03:46Doesn't seem right.
03:47They played it back in Oakland.
03:50At the Coliseum?
03:51Unless they destroyed that stadium for some reason.
03:53Yeah, I don't know what's going on there.
03:54But yeah, how confusing would that be?
03:56Welcome to Game 3 of the World Series.
03:59I'm assuming they don't have home field advantage.
04:01We're live here in not Sacramento, where the not Sacramento A's usually don't play.
04:09Can you imagine if the Rangers were like, look, we've traditionally opened our stadium
04:14for teams to play World Series in it.
04:17We will let y'all do it.
04:18And they won the World Series on the Rangers soil.
04:23That would be the worst.
04:24Well, if you're the Rangers, you could spin it as, we've already had three World Series
04:27here since the ballpark opened.
04:29As long as you have no follow-up questions, don't look into that.
04:34Now, the biggest surprises across Major League Baseball.
04:39Good question.
04:39Where would they have the parade, Kevin?
04:42You know what?
04:43From Sacramento all the way to Oakland and then to Vegas.
04:46That's where you end it.
04:47It's the longest parade ever.
04:48This could be a nightmare for Major League Baseball.
04:51Once again, outside of the Rangers, who have my full loyalty, if something happened there,
04:57I'm going to root for the A's.
04:59Absolutely.
05:00Among the teams that are the biggest surprises, because they didn't listen to us before the
05:04season started, the Pittsburgh Pirates lead the way, although they are now on a losing
05:10streak.
05:10So that might hurt that just a little bit.
05:12But the Pittsburgh Pirates, for most of the early season, had been playing really well.
05:17They were 16-11, but now they're on a four-game losing streak.
05:20Even then, they still have an above .500 record, which is good enough to put them last in their
05:26division.
05:27Let's go!
05:28Because remember, they're in the NL Central, where every single team is above .500.
05:34And I want to point this out one more time.
05:37There are three teams in the American League that are above .500.
05:41Three.
05:42There are five in the NL Central that are above .500.
05:47Look, man, the AL's tough.
05:49Is it?
05:50Yeah, that's why there's so many.
05:51Is it the opposite?
05:51No, they're playing each other so much.
05:54It's like the whole Big 12, Kevin.
05:56Remember when the Big 12, you'd just be like, they're all beating up on each other.
05:59You've got Nebraska, and Texas, and Oklahoma.
06:02Oklahoma, they're all just beating up on each other.
06:04So that's kind of what the AL is right now.
06:07They're all beating up on each other.
06:08How confident are you in that?
06:10I would say my confidence level is at like 12, 15%.
06:14Right now, the American League is about 25 games under .500.
06:18All right.
06:19Less confidence now?
06:21I want to know how many National League teams they've lost to.
06:25Well, I mean, wouldn't that balance out?
06:27The National League is about 25 games over .500.
06:29How many games they've played against each other, though, Kevin?
06:31You know, what if it's just been more?
06:34We have to do more digging here.
06:35No, I don't think you can get around this.
06:37I really, really think you're stuck.
06:40Who's been the biggest disappointment in Major League Baseball thus far?
06:45The Mets lead the way.
06:47They got 10 votes, followed by the Red Sox and the Phillies.
06:50So not really hard to see those determinations and why certain people have already gotten fired.
06:56Which, go ahead.
06:57Let me know when you have news for a hockey note.
07:00Okay.
07:01Which individual baseball players have been the biggest surprise thus far?
07:06Leading the way, Jordan Walker.
07:08In third place, Jose Soriano, which kind of surprises me because he's been un-freaking-believable this year.
07:14Yeah, Mike Magg showed up.
07:15Yeah, that does really help out.
07:18But Jordan Walker, at the age of 23, about to be 24, looked like he was going to take off
07:24a couple of years ago.
07:25No dice.
07:25He is on pace for 43 home runs and 108 RBIs.
07:31The biggest disappointment, player-wise, Rafael Devers leads the way with Jesus Lizardo in second place.
07:40And like I said, everybody thinks the Mariners are still going to win this division.
