00:00Please have faith in us once again, says Windrose Dev, revealing its first big content update won't arrive for at
00:06least six months.
00:08As you know, Windrose just launched in Early Access and players have already explored most of what's there.
00:14And now, the Kraken Express says the first major content update won't arrive for at least six months.
00:19And to some people, this might be a risky move, because Early Access lives or dies on momentum.
00:26If you wait too long, players will just move on.
00:28And that's one of the reasons I don't really play Early Access games, because of me having to wait a
00:33long time before the game actually becomes a proper game.
00:36You are essentially playing a work in progress that might take years to feel complete.
00:41To be fair, there are cases where this works really well, like with Hades or Baldur's Gate 3.
00:46But most Early Access games fall in this kind of a pattern.
00:50You have a strong launch hype, limited content, slow updates, and then player base drops off.
00:54And by the time the game is finished, people have already moved on.
00:58I think Early Access is best treated like this.
01:01Don't buy it, unless you're okay with what's there right now.
01:04And if you're waiting for it to become a proper game, you're better off just waiting.
