00:00week. But first, let's get to the big event coming up this weekend, which is the Run for the Roses
00:04Kentucky Derby coming up this week. And a brand new release coming from DraftKings this morning
00:10saying that DraftKings Racing has officially launched ahead of the Derby this week. It's
00:16available in Florida, Ohio, Oregon, Delaware, New Mexico, Rhode Island, Louisiana, Montana,
00:22and New Hampshire. So those of you who are betting on the horses this week with the Triple Crown
00:26Challenge coming, starting with this week's Run for the Roses, you can do so on DraftKings
00:31in those states, of course, which is officially legal. Meanwhile, yesterday in the NBA did not
00:37produce the most exciting results, but let's go through them as well because we do have some
00:40series that are getting more interesting, although there were a lot of blowouts yesterday in the NBA.
00:45The Rockets did take care of the Lakers in a big way, 115-96. So the Lakers still lead the
00:51series
00:51because they won Friday, and so they have a 3-1 lead in the series, but the Rockets did win
00:56in
00:56cover. And actually, the Sportsbook had to adjust the line. They were 4.5-point favorites.
01:00Amen Thompson had 23 points. The Lakers can capture this series if they win Wednesday night
01:06in Los Angeles. But for the time being, Ime Udoka, who certainly is still up against it,
01:12liked the way that his team played facing elimination.
01:15Tonight, everything seemed really quick. Just what did you like about your team's resiliency
01:19and what you saw overall tonight?
01:21I think our aggressiveness was on display from the start. First time holding them outside
01:27of 30-point first quarter, so much better effort there. Defensive intensity across the board.
01:33I loved our ball pressure, forcing 24 turnovers for 30 points and 17 of those being steals.
01:38So our activity was great, and that's made the difference from the start.
01:42You know, it's obviously very challenging without your two leading scorers to generate offense.
01:48I think we'll take a look at the process again on that end as well. And I know our points
01:56per shot
01:57and our expected points per shot were slightly below our season average. So to me, again,
02:05it goes back to the two keys, take care of the ball, and we'll look at that and how we
02:10can be better
02:11there.
02:12All right, so we'll check out the next game in the series on Wednesday. How about a tight one
02:16between Toronto and Cleveland? It looked like the Cavs may run through this series, but not so fast.
02:21The Raptors win 93-89. Scotty Barnes had 23. Also, Brandon Ingram had 23. Wednesday night will be
02:29game five there, and that could eventually decide the series. And so now Brandon Ingram knows that his team
02:36certainly has to go back to Cleveland to get a win to win this series. Here's what he thinks they
02:40have to do. Tied 2-2.
02:42Hey, Brandon. Congratulations. Now that this series is tied up, evened, what do you guys have to do
02:49when you get to Cleveland on Wednesday?
02:52Well, we got to expect a fight, you know, back in their territory. You know, the fans are going to
02:58be
02:58super loud, bringing the energy, and got to be ready for, you know, Donovan Mitchell to bounce
03:05back. You know, all their guys are going to be ready, so we just got to be ready, too.
03:12It's one of those things where we just got to find a way, right? And we didn't. And they protected
03:18home court, so now it's our job to kind of, you know, do the same thing at the end of
03:22the day.
03:24We can't sit here and just be like, oh, we're defeated. Like, you know what I mean? Like,
03:28they protected home court. We made mistakes. We watched the film two days and adjust. But,
03:33you know, our defense gave us a chance, you know what I mean? And offensively, obviously,
03:38I wasn't great. You know, we weren't hitting shots, but our defense was solid, you know,
03:43and we can build on that and continue to hang our hat there, and the offense will come around.
03:50Get your money out of the market now.
04:04...trouble, especially if they have to watch that video pregame.
04:08114-94, the Spurs win. Victor Wembayama is back. He had 27 points yesterday, and so that's good news
04:15for them and bad news for the Blazers as they get ready to go back to San Antonio in the
04:19series. But
04:19even with adversity and missing Wembayama, he says the team came through.
04:24But what is it about the way this team handles those situations that enables you to overcome those deficits?
04:33Yeah, we need to find the answers, you know,
04:39before having our back against the wall. But that also shows the strength of our team. In adversity, we stick
04:48together. We get closer to each other. We feed off of each other's energy.
04:54Jeremy, this is two games where you guys had commanding leads. What are you guys missing to be able to
05:00put a game away when you are able to run out and get that kind of lead?
05:04I think that kind of shows that, you know, we got the capability. We just got to stay poised. We
05:08got to figure out how to combat their adjustments. I mean, something we got to figure out. Obviously, we haven't.
05:16But it shows that, you know, we got the capability. So...
05:19All right, so the Spurs now in complete control of their series. Same could be said for the Celtics. Wow,
05:24what a blowout last night. Not surprising. 128-98. I guess the surprise was that Joel Embiid came back for
05:31Philadelphia. Sort of out of nowhere, he had appendicitis and decided to play in this game. Actually played pretty well,
05:37too, despite the team losing.
05:39Peyton Pritchard was the surprise for Boston. He had 32 points last night. So let's hear from Pritchard first and
05:46then Embiid on coming back from this appendicitis.
05:49Peyton, when you're on a heater, what's that feeling like? None of us in this room besides you know what
05:57it's like to...
05:58It's a good feeling, but it's more of a... It's a flow state, I like to say. It's like when
06:03you get in that flow state, it's just...
06:05It's the rhythm of how you dribble and the moves you can get to in the shot making, obviously. But
06:12it's a good feeling. But, you know, I try to...
06:15In my workouts, I try to hit that on the daily. So then when I get in the games, it's
06:19a regular thing.
06:20Joel, what was the toughest or most challenging thing about coming back, jumping into a playoff series like this?
06:25Yeah, it's tough because, you know, I had some complications after the surgery and still kind of dealing for them.
06:36So, chillies were all in it. And, obviously, I worn up and now lost.
06:42You know, it's a good thing to get the chance to play with us and go right back and stuff.
06:48But, you know, you try to do the best, you know, job possible with the formations.
07:00And, of course, we'll have previews of the rest of the games in the NBA tonight.
07:04The Orlando Magic are up 2-1. They play the Pistons.
07:07Thunder have a 3-0 lead over the Suns.
07:09Timberwolves lead 3-1 over the Nuggets. We'll preview those games coming up.
07:12All right, in baseball, a big surprise over the weekend.
07:15The Red Sox decided to part ways with their manager, Alex Cora,
07:18and basically their entire coaching staff, including their hitting coach, their bench coach, their third base coach,
07:24and even their game planning coach, Jason Baratek.
07:27Yesterday, general manager and president of or chief baseball officer, they call Craig Breslow.
07:31He met with the media and talked about the decision to let go of Cora and his coach.
07:36Now would you characterize what your working relationship was like with Alex, you know,
07:40to doing this season?
07:41And then is that part of the equation here that you guys are no longer as aligned as you want
07:45it to be?
07:46You know, I actually think I have a very good working relationship with Alex.
07:50Certainly neither of us was, you know, was satisfied with the start that we got off to,
07:56but we continued to bounce ideas off of each other to put all potential solutions on the table.
08:03Ultimately, you know, as an organization, as a baseball operation, alongside ownership,
08:09we reached the decision yesterday to make these changes.
08:13And the Red Sox did get that coaching bump, as they say, from the firing.
08:17They won 5-3 over the Orioles.
08:19Connelly Early had a nice game, 6-2 for strikeouts.
08:23Rocky swept the Mets in a doubleheader, and they also swept the series.
08:27How about that?
08:27Mets keep losing.
08:28So do the Phillies.
08:29Braves beat them 6-2,
08:30and the Diamondbacks beat the Padres 12-7.
