00:00The first response of Arvind Kejriwal, the man-in-chief for the Aam Admi Party, their national convener.
00:05The first response has come.
00:07The Bharatya Janata Party has once again given Punjabis a shout.
00:12BJP ne phirse panjabiyo ke saath kiya dhakka.
00:15Very interesting. He's not making it personal.
00:18He's saying this is about the Punjabis.
00:20It is the Bharatya Janata Party that has pushed the Punjabis away and to this extent.
00:27BJP ne phirse panjabiyo ke saath kiya dhakka.
00:31Basically, they have given Punjabis a shout.
00:34So he's targeting the BJP via bringing in the Punjabi pride, the Punjabi culture and also reflective of the strategy
00:43here.
00:43He's not making it personal.
00:44He's not showing that there is a setback, that we are taken aback with what happened.
00:49But very clearly making it about the state in itself that the AAP governs.
00:54Preeti Chaudhary continues to be with us.
00:55Preeti, very interesting response, isn't it?
00:58And while many, of course, are calling it a setback, he's not making it look like so.
01:05Like I was pointing out, Pooja, the Aam Admi Party is now going to go out all levels to try
01:10and leverage these optics in their favor in the state of Punjab.
01:13And that's exactly what has been echoed by Arvind K. Grewal in the social media reaction that you've just read
01:19out.
01:19Go back to the press conference of Sanjay Singh.
01:22The entire press conference was around how this is betrayal of Punjab, of these seven MPs which have been nominated
01:31from the Aam Admi Party, Punjab defecting to the Bharatiya Janata Party.
01:35Will this stick is the question.
01:37Because where optics are concerned, perception is concerned, it's huge.
01:41Six of your ten MPs walking out en masse, defecting to the BJP, leaving your party with just three MPs.
01:47Lots of questions that will be raised and should be raised and asked of the top leadership of the Aam
01:52Admi Party.
01:52One MP, two MP.
01:54But even who you replace Raghav Chadda with, as your deputy leader of opposition, Rajya Sabha, even that person has
02:03defected.
02:03Now you might say because he was under ED pressure.
02:06But optics don't augur well.
02:08So the Aam Admi Party now will aggressively try to portray them as traitors in the state of Punjab.
02:14And what they hope is, because like I was pointing out, a bit of distrust in Punjab where BJP is
02:20concerned, so they might hope to leverage it there.
02:24Politically they are going to use it there.
02:26But optics wise, if you look at it on a national level, this doesn't look good.
02:30The Aam Admi Party, Pooja, was trying to get back together, get back the kind of rigor.
02:35You know, they've been on the back foot ever since the loss in, you know, the loss of Delhi and
02:41then the ongoing liquor scam investigations.
02:44It was a shot in the arm, an unexpected shot in the arm for them when the ruling came from
02:50the lower court which said that the alleged liquor scam didn't even have, you know, the merit to stand in
02:56court and dismissed, discharged the case.
02:58That was huge for the Aam Admi Party.
03:00And at the back, the Aam Admi Party was hoping and thinking there will be some sort of revival and
03:06they could go back to the people saying that we are now taint free.
03:11This is another setback.
03:13No matter which way, the Aam Admi Party hopes to look at it, to paint it.
03:17It's put the party on the back foot again.
03:20But, like I said, the narrative of Punjab will be rife and then Operation Lotus.
03:26The, you know, the BJP, the dominating force, all of this will be painted by the Aam Admi Party of
03:34how the BJP orchestrated Operation Lotus by putting each of these MPs in distress, duress and try to lure them
03:41into the party.
03:43All right, so that's what's happening.
03:45AAP is trying to now put forth a claim that it could be duress, distress and pressure that was on
03:51them.
03:51But as Raghav Chadha said, highly praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and saying that Aam Admi Party has moved away
03:58from their core agendas.
04:02So that's the big news, ladies and gentlemen, earthquake tremors in the political corridors.
04:07Aravind Kejriwal's statement also has come that BJP has shoved and pushed the Punjabis here.
04:14He's not making it about the party, but about the Punjabi people.
