In my work as a practicing clinical psychologist, psychoanalytic therapist and spiritual counselor since 2008, I have observed that the human attention span has been deteriorating along with the ability to converse in real time.

People across geographies and all age groups are relying more on emojis and forwarded messages to communicate. Consequently, the prevalence of isolation, loneliness, depression and anxiety has gone up. In this short video, I talk about these current challenges surrounding human communication and the way out.

00:00Think carefully. Most of the messages you receive from your contacts on your smartphone are actually forwarded messages created by
00:13someone else.
00:15And most of your responses to those messages are super cute emojis or other forwarded messages once again created by
00:29someone else.
00:31Now, when you are not communicating heart-to-heart, mind-to-mind and soul-to-soul and simply relying on
00:41third-party videos and stickers, your communication skills die a slow death.
00:50And with such a cookie-cutter communication, you obviously land up with several mental health issues.
01:02Therefore, write original letters, compose original emails, get ready for real-time calls.
01:12And please, please, for God's sake, don't throw your communication skills in a graveyard.
