00:00All right, today we're gonna show you how we tape
00:02for an unstable shoulder for sport.
00:05Now this could be someone who has had a subluxation
00:08or a shoulder dislocation,
00:09or if you're simply trying to restrict
00:12external rotation when playing sport.
00:14Now we're gonna use cushion here,
00:16and the tape I'm gonna use is,
00:19fix them all, that's underwrap, that's crucial stuff,
00:22normal sports tape, and then an EAB that goes over top.
00:31Now if you need any of these tapes,
00:32head to the link below to go to our shop,
00:35you'll find them all there.
00:36What we do is make sure we start off
00:39putting the arm in a right position, which is there.
00:43So we wanna be taping in this sort of position here,
00:46where they're out in about a 45 degree angle.
00:48Remember, we're trying to restrict that movement there.
00:51We're trying to restrict the external rotation,
00:53so we're gonna start an internal rotation, hand on hip.
00:57Now it's pretty crucial that you use this underwrap,
01:01which is, we have a TheraFix underwrap.
01:04It's hypoallergenic, but the big thing is,
01:06this helps the tape sticks to the skin.
01:09So just using this is not really good enough,
01:11straight on the skin, I would use this first.
01:14Plus, if anyone's hypoallergenic,
01:16it's really nice for the skin
01:17to protect it from that stuff.
01:20The trick with this underwrap is to go quite low on the front,
01:25so you get a really good anchor.
01:27I'm using a very wide section today,
01:29which stops me using so many bits of tape.
01:31Just be careful when you're taking this off,
01:33especially with the wide bits,
01:34because they can crease and stick.
01:37So you wanna make sure that you're doing this really slowly,
01:42so you don't get any creases on that.
01:44Now, for this, I would start getting that section,
01:52like I said, as low as you can.
01:54Now you wanna be sort of over the collarbone,
01:57just the side of that shoulder.
01:59So if I get that correct there,
02:02because I don't want any creases in the front,
02:05and then you work out, yep, I've got that just about right.
02:10And you can see here, this is nice and flat
02:13all the way through, which makes it very good as an anchor.
02:18And so you don't need to get any sort of nasty creases in there,
02:21which can be uncomfortable.
02:23Now, if the person's hypoallergenic,
02:25meaning they get really sensitive,
02:26if this stuff's on the skin,
02:28especially more than three hours,
02:30you can use that tape everywhere else
02:32where we put the brown tape.
02:33What you do is start off with your first anchor
02:36for the front, okay?
02:38So this part here is you're gonna come down
02:41from the front here,
02:43and then nicely over through the middle of that tape,
02:47all the way down.
02:50And then just, it doesn't have to be too tight,
02:53just as an anchor point.
02:55Remember, we're gonna use this to stick the other tape too.
02:57Your first anchor goes on the bicep.
02:59Now I'd go in about the next.
