01:10Hello ladies and gentlemen, I am the Canadian reviewer doing a new video review for you
01:14guys.
01:15Now, for this video I did a little voting poll thing online to see what I would review
01:21next and the contestants were Dark at the Moon, Human Alliance, Leadfoot, Leaderclass
01:29Optimus Prime, Age of Extinction, Age of Extinction, Deluxe Class Scorn, and Deluxe Animated Lockdown.
01:38And the winner, quite obviously, is Age of Extinction Optimus Prime.
01:44So let's go ahead and take a closer look at it.
01:53Taking a look at the packaging, it's too blank on this side.
01:57Now, here is Optimus Prime in his alt mode.
01:59Now, his alt mode is a semi-truck, surprise, surprise, in blue and red.
02:04Now, a lot of people say that the alt mode is really where it's at and the robot mode
02:11is kind of lacking.
02:12Well for me, I feel like the alt mode really does lack as well.
02:17I mean, it does have a good shape overall.
02:21I like where they put the chrome.
02:22They have a little bit of just dull gray plastic but it doesn't feel like, it doesn't feel like
02:28the chrome is kind of out of place, you know, compared to like some other figures that were
02:33out.
02:33They had little splashes of chrome but they also had little splashes of like light gray
02:39and it just looked off.
02:40But, um, this one, the colors complement, uh, the colors complement themselves quite well.
02:49It's mostly the back bit here.
02:51It's only got this little silver bit and then everything else is just blue.

03:00I mean, there could have been red flames on the sides here and it just, it doesn't look

03:07I mean, you can plug this on the back and have a little bit more color into it but,
03:12uh, you know, that's the gun and shield.
03:15At least it does kind of have the shape of the trailer hitch so that's fine.
03:19Taking a look at some of that chrome.

03:24I like the pipes on this.
03:26Um, not too big, not too small.
03:29Just right.
03:30I don't understand the piss yellow windows.

03:34It's got some nice red and blue coloring to it and, uh, that doesn't look too bad.
03:39Taking a look at the bottom here, you can store the sword so that's pretty cool.
03:45I, I think it's the Sword of Justice.
03:48More like the Sword of, nope.
03:50Here's a little comparison with the Revenge of the Fallen Leader Class figure.
03:53And, uh, yeah, I definitely do prefer this one over this.
03:59I mean, I like the transformation of this more than this because, well, you know, there's
04:04not like 50 other parts for the arm.
04:06But, um, yeah, I just, it definitely works.
04:12I think their alt modes definitely work for the, uh, what robot modes they transform into.
04:16I will say I definitely prefer the Revenge of the Fallen version and it is a lot bigger.
04:22But, it doesn't look bad compared to this.
04:26I, there's something about this that I just really like.
04:29Taking a look at the comparison with the Age of Extinction Voyager Class figure.

06:03Now, here is Age of Extinction Optimus Prime in his robot mode.
06:07And, I gotta say, it actually does look the part.
06:11I mean, I know a lot of people complain about the kibble right here.
06:16You know, the arm pads and the little waist pad thingy, whatever you want to call them, skirt things.
06:22How dare you insult the skirts!
06:24But, um, you know, it's not like that kibble's not where it should be.
06:30It's not like it's just some random armor that's been put on or applied to or whatever.
06:35I'm sorry for the lighting if it's bad right now.
06:38Uh, the most annoying part of the kibble actually does come from right here.
06:43And, it's not as bad as you would think.
06:48It's not as bad as some of the photos would show.
06:51It's not as bad as what I imagined when, uh, the first photos really showed up.
06:56It really, actually, it's not that annoying.
07:00It doesn't really get in the way except for when you want the likes to be pulled back.
07:04But, uh, you gotta just forget all about that.
07:07And, uh, you just wanna post the likes like this.
07:09So, um, I don't really care.

07:16And, actually, some of the kibble actually works for it.
07:19So, um, yep!
07:22I mean, I think G1 looks cool.
07:25But, this one's not bad as an alliteration for me.
07:29I mean, I know people are gonna think it's ugly.
07:31And, I understand why.
07:33I mean, when I first saw this, I was like, oh god, no!
07:36But, um, I've grown to like it, really.
07:41I mean, I don't think it's the worst thing ever.
07:44So, um, take it or leave it.
07:46Anyways, for comparison, here is the G1 Optimus Prime, which I'll just carry for a second.

08:14and it doesn't look like that came from that, but, uh, it's a good comparison.

08:25Revenge of the Fallen Leader Class Optimus Prime.
08:28Now, I will compare them just a little bit.
08:32The things that really just stick out to me for this figure that improves over this.
08:39First of all, it gets pretty much the general idea of Optimus Prime.
08:44It's not really trying, like, a samurai look.
08:47It keeps it simple, and, you know, it also keeps it recognizable.
08:51Another thing is, it's got a lot of red to it, as well as blue.
08:55It mixes it quite well.
08:57And this one just has a lot of blue to it.
09:01Now, I will also state, there's some things I like more on this one than this one.
09:07That being the blue. I like the blue more on this.
09:10And also, I like the transformation of how simple it is.
09:15This one is definitely complicated.
09:18And I get that a lot of people will like the complicated transformation.
09:21I really do. I really, really do.
09:24But, some days, it's just too much to handle.
09:29And the simple transformation, that's just the route I want to go.
09:33So, still though, I love this one.
09:38Buy him!
09:39Also, again, if you're curious, it does look awesome.
09:46It's a little loose in there, but...

09:51Taking a closer look at his weapons, he's got the butter knife of justice that he's used too much.
09:57Yes, because it's yellow, it's stained yellow.
10:00It's got some blue details, it's got some grey details, it's got some red details.
10:04Oh my god, it's some details full, I don't know.
10:08Anyways, you can plug it on the back right here, so that's pretty cool.
10:13And you can even swing it down because it's got a little bit of a hinge to kind of make
10:18it stick out, so that's kind of cool.
10:20And also, it's got a couple of holes on the sides here.
10:25Don't know if you can see that.
10:26So, he can, indeed, plug it onto his hand.
10:29Now, I did slide it in, but his thumb, you know, articulates like so.
10:34So, you can actually stick it in there and, you know, have it like that.
10:38It is a little bit loose, but, uh, I think it gets the job done.
10:43He also has this shield, which is just one piece of plastic, but I actually really do like this shield.
10:50Uh, it looks good, and feels good, and it's just a lot of fun, and also, it's a gun.
10:57Yeah, going the ruby route.
11:00Now, one thing that I thought I would not like on this figure is the chrome chest,
11:04because the red and the blue just doesn't match everything else, and it just looks kind of weird.
11:10But, you know what, honestly, in hand, it's not too much of a bother, actually, and, uh, actually kind of
11:17fits.
11:17And, ladies and gentlemen, Optimus Prime, galore.
11:22And, yes, you can get him into some pretty good poses with the limited articulation, I will admit it.
11:29Something that's also kind of cool, and I wish more Transformers had this,
11:32but it's got a little panel that actually fills out that part of the leg.
11:37I actually really do like that, and the figure articulation is nice,
11:41although it's pushed too far in the back to where the ball joint is.
11:45You know, it gets the job done.
11:47So that's pretty much it for Age of Extinction Optimus Prime in robot mode.
11:51Let's go to the overall review.
11:59So overall, what I highly recommend Transformers Age of Extinction Optimus Prime.
12:05You know what, it depends on the look of him.
12:09I know a lot of people aren't going to get into him, but quite honestly,
12:12it's a better figure than what I thought originally.
12:15If you like the Optimus Prime design in Age of Extinction, you might actually like this toy.
12:21Because, as a toy, it's really not as bad as people say.
12:27Plus, if all you're complaining about is bat kibble,
12:31I'm sorry, but a lot of Transformers have it.
12:34So what's their excuse?
12:36Anyways, that's pretty much it.
12:38I'm not trying to, you know, make anyone mad or anything.
