01:26Look at it. I don't even know how I'm going to review this. This is too beautiful for words, but

01:42So here is Evasion Mode Optimus Prime in his altmo-

01:50Yeah, you can't obviously tell the difference between either one of them.
01:55Evasion Mode Optimus Prime is definitely based on G1 Optimus Prime on a couple of things.
02:01One, it's alt mode, and two, it's color.
02:04Although this is not the direct, accurate look for the Age of Extinction Evasion Mode Optimus Prime,
02:11as the screen version has a rusty cab with a bunch of bullet holes and whatnot.
02:17But still, I'll take this because it's the 30th anniversary and why not?
02:22There's a giant gun sticking out on the top of this. We have gone back to Mech Tech.
02:27Taking that gun off, we're just going to take a quick look at Optimus Prime in the Evasion Mode look,
02:32and it is a flat-nosed cab.
02:34You can definitely see some similarities with the G1 truck.
02:38I mean, God, there's a lot of it, especially with paint scheme.
02:43I mean, you got the silver line going around it.
02:45You got that nice, bright red. You got that nice, decent blue.
02:50This one's more of a blue-toned color. This one's darker.
02:54But, you know what? I can't resist it because it's so beautiful.
02:57As you can see, this side doesn't match this side, but they were kind of going for the rusty cab
03:02look.
03:02Even though the paint scheme is obviously not there, they wanted to throw in a couple of little hints that
03:10this is, of course, the rusty cab.
03:12A couple of nice Autobot logos just to throw in, and some nice details, some silver around the windows.
03:19It's got some bolts in it, and my God, is this a pretty-looking truck.
03:24It's got holes in the tire. I don't know why, but I got holes in the tire.
03:29Now, this is definitely a small Voyager-class figure, but you know what?
03:34I can stand it because it's about the same size as the G1 figure, which I really do like that.
03:42There are a couple more holes on the back here, but, uh...
03:46Yeah, the best way to put the gun on those holes, I think, is on the side and going pew.
03:52But I think, honestly, the best way is to have it like that, which I don't mind, because it is
03:58a toy, after all.
03:59Quick little thing, I decided to do this. Why? I don't... I can't even comprehend.
04:06A quick look at the packaging. Not a big fan on the dark silver windows. I mean, why?
04:12And overall, just a beautiful nostalgic little alt mode. Let's go on to the robot mode.

04:48Give me back my shotgun. No, not until you say uncle.
04:52Uh, uncle, uncle. Good. Now suck my dick. What? What?
04:57And this is Transformers Age of Extinction Evasion Mode Optimus Prime in his robot mode,
05:02and he definitely takes a bunch of cues from the Revenge of the Fallen look,
05:06while adding a little G1 twist with a little grill on the front of it.
05:11Going through weapons first, he does come with Megatron's shotgun, which he...
05:15took in Dark of the Moon. Spoiler alert! And he can definitely hold the gun.
05:20Probably unfortunate for some is that the wrists are twisted this way,
05:25and a lot of people might not know that the wrists actually rotate.
05:30It's a little tight, but it's possible.
05:33You don't want to just take your fingers and try to rotate the wrists.
05:38I've seen people actually break those, and trust me, you don't want to see that.
05:44Now, I did say this is Megatron's shotgun, and it can be held by Dark of the Moon Megatron, the
05:51Voyager class.
05:52You can plug it on the back like so, and that looks pretty cool.
05:56You can have it on either side because of the pegs.
05:58Or you can plug it on the side like so, it's so fabulous.
06:02You can even plug it in this way if you want, though it kind of droops.
06:06So does the other guy!
06:10As you can see there is a little gap, and there are two tabs on either side of the shotgun
06:15on the back of it.
06:16You can plug Megatron's shotgun on those tabs, and that is mighty cool!
06:23Look at that, that's impressive.
06:25But wait, there's more! I discovered something with Dark of the Moon Megatron!
06:30There is actually another way how Megatron can hold the gun!
06:33You can actually see that it's got a little bit of an L-shape inside the hand, right there.
06:39And although it's not perfectly designed to that, Megatron can, in fact, hold his gun.
06:48Not securely, though.
06:50Like that. I'm not doing anything.
06:54No tricks, no nothing. No string, no clay.
06:58It's just Megatron with the shotgun, baby, yeah!
07:02Probably didn't see this coming, but the missile fires.
07:06In evasion!
07:07Back to Evasion Mode Optimus Prime, there are a couple of nitpicks I have with this figure.
07:13First off, the paint is so fleshed out, it's, it's, ugh.
07:18I get that they're going for a cartoon look, but there's so little paint details.
07:24Even the G1 toys had a little bit more paint detail than this.
07:28I'm not saying it's a bad thing.
07:30I mean, there are definitely a lot of paint apps on this figure.
07:33But if you look at the legs, they're just bare blue.
07:36If you look at the G1 figure, they're bare blue as well, but they have a little bit of splashes
07:41of detail.
07:43It's not really a personal problem for me.
07:46I don't necessarily mind it, and I see what they were going for.
07:50I just wanted to nitpick on that.
07:51Over time, some of the joints can get loose.
07:54On mine, the, uh, lower arm is loose on there, so you can't really hold the shotgun all too well,
08:01as I was hoping.
08:02And this side door piece is also kind of loose.
08:06But, uh, once you put those in place, it really holds the chest pretty well.
08:10Now, I believe with Evasion Mode Optimus Prime, some of the joints may vary.
08:15I've seen, uh, toys where this piece is loose, and mine isn't. Mine's actually quite tight.
08:21You think Lockdown's gun face is cool?
08:25Well, you haven't met me.
08:27Here's a comparison with the Generation 1 toy.
08:30Now, even though Evasion Mode Optimus Prime feels like he has less plastic than the normal Voyagers of a year
08:36ago, I don't necessarily mind it.
08:39Just a little transforming tip.
08:42When rotating these panels around, make sure that you have the arm completely over this part,
08:47and also make sure that these pieces are down, or else it's going to cause you quite a bit of
08:53problems.
08:54Also, folding the head completely down allows you to gain a little bit more access than you'd expect.
09:02And you get that so easily.
09:05Woohoo!
09:06Also, use the tabs to hook it on the back!

09:15I don't know, I think the case may be it's the Optimus Prime we've always dreamed of.
09:21I mean, just look at this toy.
09:23It's beautiful, it's nostalgic, while throwing in a few new cues.
09:27I love the look of it.
09:28Although I kind of wish this was the Rusty Cab, we're getting multiple versions.
09:33Like, I could think of six right now.
09:36And a few of them are going to be the Rusty Cab.
09:39So we are going to get some Rusty Cab versions of this.
09:42And I don't necessarily think that this is the only Evasion Mode Optimus Prime mold I'm ever going to get.
09:50There's a Nemesis Prime, there's about two Rusty Cabs, and then there's a bunch of them in the red and
09:56blue classic colors.
09:57Anyways, let's go to my overall review.
10:06So overall do I highly recommend Optimus Prime Evasion Mode, Age of Extinction.
10:12You know what, I would say absolutely, I gotta say he is a fantastic figure.
10:16If you can get your hands on it, or a version of Evasion Mode Optimus Prime, you're absolutely going to
10:24love it.
