00:00Hello, Ilana from the Bureau here with your National Weather Forecast for tomorrow, Wednesday
00:04the 15th of April.
00:06Let's get started and take a look across the country, where tomorrow will see an increase
00:10in rainfall through northern parts of Queensland as the remnants of ex-tropical cyclone Myla
00:16finally move through.
00:19Further south and through the interior is going to be settled with this high-pressure
00:22ridge, however a few stream showers are still expected through the southeast.
00:27And out to the west, it's rinse and repeat, with this west coast trough bringing showers
00:33and storms to parts of Western Australia.
00:36So let's take a look at our state by state and start in Queensland.
00:39Queensland is going to be the wettest state on Wednesday, and that is because the remnants
00:44of ex-tropical cyclone Myla will bring a lot of tropical moisture on shore.
00:50So with that we're looking at showers and thunderstorms extending from the Cape York
00:54Peninsula through the Gulf area, but really we're expecting our heaviest falls about the
00:59north tropical coast, in particular through about Cardwell to Cairns.
01:04In those areas we could see some locally heavy falls, as well as the risk of both flash and
01:10minor riverine flooding.
01:13Further south though, through the southeast and interior parts of Queensland, it is looking
01:17like quite a settled day.
01:19That includes for Brisbane, which will be sunny with a top of 29.
01:24Into New South Wales, which will see mostly settled conditions.
01:27We'll see some morning fog through the ranges and even some frost through the southern ranges.
01:33Now there is some ongoing plan burning through New South Wales, which means we could see some
01:38morning smoke haze through the Sydney and Hunter regions.
01:43Broadly though, it's going to warm up into quite a beautiful day for much of New South Wales.
01:48Sydney will see 26 degrees and a sunny day, Canberra a cold start with some fog, it is really
01:54getting to that time of year now, but then of course warming to a nice day atop of 22.
02:00Into Victoria, where through the north we'll see some morning fog, and in the south we'll
02:05see cloudy and showery conditions throughout the day.
02:08It will be a mild day in Victoria, so Melbourne will see a top of 20 degrees and a possible
02:13shower.
02:15Tasmania tomorrow will see a little bit of a break between the passage of numerous cold
02:19fronts this week.
02:20However, in this westerly airstream, we are still looking at showers through southern and
02:25western parts of the state.
02:28Hobart will see cloudy conditions at a top of 16.
02:32For South Australia, mostly settled, however, we do have this trough lingering just to the
02:38south, which could bring some showers to the lower east, particularly in the morning period.
02:43Elsewhere though, we can see sunshine all round.
02:46Temperatures in the high 20s through the north, grading down to the low 20s through southern
02:52parts.
02:53Adelaide will see a sunny day and a top of 23.
02:57Through Western Australia, again, we'll see a few showers through the southern coastal
03:01areas.
03:02And of course, again, with this trough near the west coast, we're going to see showers
03:06and storms from the Pilbara and all the way down through to the lower west.
03:11Now Perth does have a chance of storms tomorrow through the morning and during the afternoon.
03:16It will be warm there with a top of 27.
03:20In the Territory, another mostly dry day, aside for some showers in the northeast.
03:25Darwin will be sunny with a top of 34.
03:28Now we have seen quite a few dry days now through much of the Territory, but there is a little
03:33bit of a hint here of some rainfall that's set to extend into eastern parts of the Territory
03:39come later this week.
03:41That's all for our National Weather Forecast.
