00:00These are friends and colleagues who have served the Parliament and the Victorian community
00:04for a period of time, and it is now their time to say farewell to their life of public service.
00:12What I grew to realise over the last few months is that I might not be able to take that
00:20same
00:21level of commitment forward for four years. And I owe it to this great party and great government
00:28to make sure that if I feel that I'm not able to do that, that I make way for the
00:35young,
00:36energetic, enthusiastic, talented MPs that we have to call on to form a future ministry.
00:44I've done a job I love. I've worked with people who I try and respect. I've done so in the
00:54service
00:55of a party whose values I share, representing a wonderful electorate.
00:59I have been a serving Minister in this Government and the Andrews Government for 10 years. Obviously,
01:06skills and TAFE and training and higher education has been part of my daily and evening DNA. It also
01:14was thrilling to have the portfolios of agriculture, water, regional development, and of course,
01:22corrections as well.
