Will we be surprised by the new uniforms?

00:03what this uniform unveiling is going to look like.

00:22And they're going to go with the Burgundy Road jerseys from the same era,

00:29So you're going to have white and Burgundy.
00:31They're going to look like the Redskins.
00:32People are going to be very excited about that.
00:34It'll be an emotional day for a lot of people.
00:36That's awesome.
00:37The big question still is, what else do they have in store?
00:41Is there a surprise?
00:43Is there something up their sleeve?
00:45Josh Harris hinted at that at the owners' meetings in Phoenix last week.
00:49Because he literally said, like, we have something else up our sleeve.

00:53Now, you know, who knows what that means exactly.

01:18And now you've got the real Redskins jerseys back for the Commanders.
01:22The only thing missing is the word or the logo for the Redskins.
01:25But it looks like the old thing.
01:27So this is my working theory.
01:28This is actually my best guess.

01:32I think it's everything is the same old, same old besides that.
01:35I think it's still the same dumb W, the same, you know, stupid motifs, the same
01:40all black jerseys that they wear against the Bears, the same crap that I don't like.
01:45They're going to keep that.
01:46But my theory is, this is what I'm working with, if you look between now and stadium
01:51opening, there's very little else marketing ticket business office can kind of do to
01:57sort of dangle an enticing thing to get people ginned up and excited before the new stadium
02:02opens.
02:03The team wins, that does your work for you, but just in case they don't, it's hard to
02:06win up here, as you know.
02:08The next thing they could do is change that logo.
02:11Because again, that's the last lever they could pull.
02:13So my theory is they're going to wait to pull it.
02:15My theory is they don't have anything they love yet.
02:17They're going to do some more time rolling out the spear, talking about the spear, pretending
02:21the spear is the thing that's different than you guys think.
02:24It's this connection to ancient Greece and the phalanx.
02:27And we'll talk Hannibal and the Romans and all this other kind of stuff.

02:34I think they're going to do a little bit more of that, dangle that.

02:44In the teaser that they released, there is a clear box that a uniform would be in.
02:51And then there's a gigantic square box where, you know, Rydell box, by the way, but where
02:57a helmet would clearly be.
02:58Why have that in the trailer if you're not also getting a new helmet?
03:02Because you haven't seen those burgundy helmets, the correct burgundy, not the burgundy of lies
03:11and untruth, but the correct burgundy with the W.
03:13You haven't seen the ones that are going to go with the white jersey and the W.
03:17I think the W stays for a little while longer.
03:20Well, to that point, that's very possible because we have heard they're going away from
03:23the matte helmet.

03:29And they're going back to glossy.
03:31So it is going to be a different finish on the helmet, which will make the actual color
03:35of the helmet look a little bit more traditional and, to your point, better and like the Redskins.

03:41Maybe it is just the gold block W on a glossy burgundy helmet.
03:46They've gotten rid of the matte helmet, and that's why the helmet box is in the trailer
03:50because, in theory, it's a new helmet that matches the uniforms better.

03:55By the way, gold face mask would be a tweak and would be a really, really good look.
03:59And if you go with just the traditional gold face mask on a glossy burgundy helmet with
04:05that gold block W, now you've got enough that you could say we reworked the helmet.

05:27And it was just like a black number on a black jersey with the white small trim numbers.

05:34I think they're going to unveil a new black uniform on which the helmet will have a spear,
05:41a burgundy and gold or burgundy spear.
05:43And to me, that's going to be the grand finale moment of whatever happens at 10 a.m. tomorrow.
