00:25Looking to get back on the winning track and Hooney returning to action after the tragic passing of his trainer
00:33Kerry Pui who suffered a heart attack in the gym at age 48
00:37He's now working with Josh Arnold while Clark is working with Joe Gallagher
00:43And Clark comes in ten pounds lighter than when he lost to Jamie TKV and Gallagher says he will be

00:53And he feels that his power is still a force to be reckoned with
00:57He already looks sharper than the ordinary does he's
01:01He's got a nice sharp demeanor about him. He's not wasting any shots
01:07And I think the the Gallagher connection the fact that he's already come in ten pounds light means he's been
01:12doing more work
01:14And for Hooney Andre he gave current heavyweight champion Fabio Wardley all he can handle for nine rounds
01:21And then in that fateful tenth round
01:23Wardley landed the right cross and just like that
01:26Hooney tasted his first loss by knocko
01:29Just from one punch both fighters tonight
01:31Ironically enough are shaking off the ghost of Fabio Wardley
01:35And Hooney had a great performance until he didn't
01:39And tonight both fighters are trying to bounce back
01:41I like what Hooney has so far he's very fast very explosive very compact
01:47But Clark also looks good himself
01:48Yeah Clark's long draw came against Wardley before being knocked out in the first round and so
01:55David what are your early assessments from these two heavyweights midway through the first very cagey you know

02:06Wardley it was a one punch knockout loss so there was no damage done
02:10But if you look at Clark when he fought Wardley
02:13Clark had a life and death battle to a draw and then he got knocked out in one round with

02:20You know there was a dent in the side of his head after that knockdown it was a gruesome gruesome

02:26So there's a mileage there's a mileage with Clark where Hooney has literally just had one punch
02:31One punch is all it was so I assume the freshness will be with the 27 year old
02:38He's as you said he's in his prime
02:40He took the fight against Wardley on very short notice
02:44And gave a great account of himself he's had plenty of notice here
02:47So we should see the very best of Hooney
02:49And Audrey we should see a lot of body work

04:08He's looking for the knockout shot he was knocked out in his last fight
04:12But he also knows that Clark was also knocked out from Fabio Wardley
04:16This is the heavyweight division folks all those punches have bad intentions on him
04:21I really like the fact that Hooney is setting his attacks off the of slipping Clark's punches
04:27He knows he's faster than Clark and he's used that as part of his tactics round number two
04:32These two were sparring partners in Sheffield in 2019
04:36They also almost met in the Olympics where Clark of course won a bronze medal Hooney
04:42Qualified but had to pull out due to a hand injury nice triple jab two jabs to the face one

04:48So that Hooney jab is really firing out like a piston
04:52Both fighters look very good right now within themselves
04:56Hooney is more busier with his offense and his punches
04:58But I think this is Clark trying to employ his new style and the new training methods of his trainer
05:05And all the adjustments that he's been making so he seems more patient and under control
05:10It seems like it's a little distance problem with Clark with his jab
05:15He hasn't really his jab seems like two or three inches off target
05:19Whereas Hooney seems that little bit closer maybe Hooney's got
05:22Very long arms for his heart
05:24Yeah Hooney's left hand has been an effective weapon both as a jab and a hook so far in this

05:30A minute elapsed here in the second round and again they continue
05:33To stay in the center of the ring where Hooney seems to just be beating Clark to the punch

05:48Frazier Clark doesn't look scared but he's not quite sure of himself

05:55Clark is kind of being put into his shell slightly
06:00Because Hooney has that additional speed
06:04But that's what Clark is trying and that left hook that counter left hook to the body from Hooney
06:08Has landed four or five times in this round already and those body shots slow you down

06:22Clark leaning in on Hooney trying to sap the energy early here is the battle of the big boys

06:56He's landing it to the pit of the stomach and he's really offsetting Clark's rhythm

12:06twice as a 140 pound champion making his way up in weight he had to talk with none other than

12:12crawford crawford told him the more you fight at your natural weight the better punch resistance and
12:17durability you will have progray says hey i know i'm being brought in as the b-side looking for his

12:30right now it's the fourth round and the double jab splitting the high garter clark by hooney
12:47if hooney can maintain this pace and the speed of his shots at the moment he hasn't really caught

13:01what clark needs to try something different he needs to change his hand position trying to do the

13:26have anything there else that he can do or is this the best that he had this may be his
13:31ceiling and
13:32he's just got to try to be the best that he can with doing this because thus far throughout his
13:36career
13:37we haven't seen him go deep into a bag and show many different looks but we're on the lookout for
13:42night if he has some new wrinkles you know olympic bronze medalist we expect big things but at least
13:49european level world title challenges he's challenged for the british title three times three occasions
13:55he got a draw he got knocked out you know and then lost all points by tkv who's going to
14:01defend the
14:01title in our next matchup against richard reaktor and right now clark just leaning on hooney trying to
14:07sap his energy trying to slow him down as hooney rips that lead left hook and a right hook oh
14:12but then he
14:12had his head snapped back by that uppercut from clark and then clark clinches he had some success
14:18to the uppercut and then he clinches three punch combination by hooney clark fires back
14:24a minute left in the fourth this is good work from clark clark's finally found his space his space
14:29at the moment with those two uppercuts he's landing he should try to try doing it some more
14:35well coming into this fight andre clark brought size strength physicality two-fisted power excellent
14:41body punching and pressure while hooney we know already he has the faster hands the quicker feet better
14:46technical skills and evolving ring iq and he's putting that all on display tonight and i think
14:52that may be the slight difference is what we're seeing between clark and hooney is a bit of an iq
14:57clark is boxing well he's in good shape i like what he's doing he's doing he's fighting a really good
15:02fight good shot right there i think he heard hooney with that hooney clinching hooney had just landed
15:08another nice left hook to the body but clark seems to have uh momentarily bothered hooney and here
15:14comes clark now with hooney on the ropes this is great stuff looking for his eighth knockout hooney
15:23desperately trying to fight it off wow what a sequence to end the round great round from clark
15:30that's the first time he's had some success in this fight so far it was right about 30 seconds at
15:36the end
15:36of the round he needs to build upon that now let's hope the hard work he's putting there with gallagher's
15:43going to work out physically
15:52that combination right there from clark is what hurt hooney can always tell when a fighter gets hurt
15:57because they'll grab a hole and they'll clinch as hooney should have did you don't fight when you're hurt
16:02and you see clark trying to close the show and maybe finish the fight he was unable to
16:06and hooney was saved by the bell but i want to keep a close eye on hooney and also how
16:11clark
16:13approaches this next round especially early clark needed something he was getting he was getting
16:18nothing there as quick as you can often get a wobble in all right okay yeah come through you know
16:23you can
16:23hurt him now don't let exactly joe gallagher letting him know you know you can hurt him now so my
16:30fraser clark going to try to build on the momentum of round four as we begin round number five and
16:36hooney
16:36lands a nice right hand before firing off the jab psychologically after clearly losing the first three
16:43rounds that fourth round having that success gallagher telling him you know you can hurt him now that that
16:49that's a little spark a bit of energy he'll have now he'll be able to build upon that
17:02gallagher wants clark of course to keep his chin down as hooney splits the guard
17:09i like the fact that clark has not come out crazy in this fifth round he's going back to the
17:14fundamentals
17:15and basics of boxing which is why he was able to hurt hooney in the first place and he can
17:20get hooney
17:21in that same position if he keeps doing what he's doing
17:28body shot by clark nice body shot clark needs to throw more body shots he's been yes you know
17:33for body work both of them have above average body work as hooney backed up to the ropes and clark
17:41in
17:41front of him when he throws the right hand over the top these guys are pretty evenly matched even
17:46though i think hooney up to the point where he got hurt was winning the fight or at least had
17:51an edge in
17:51terms of momentum but this is going to boil down to adjustments being made and the conditioning down
17:58the stretch very much like the main event question surrounding tyson fury and by the way 15 years ago
18:04fraser clark was tyson fury's bodyguard but the same question for clark coming into this fight how much
18:10is left and he's showing there's still a lot left up until this point he had a tough first three
18:15rounds fourth round he was able to turn this turn the tide here we go this round's very even if

18:22condition is right he should be able to using his size advantage his natural size and strength be able

19:10they they both helped each other just a tough situation but there there could be big business
19:15on hand with anthony joshua and tyson thierry so eddie's gonna show up for the business

19:41with the jab upstairs well it's a big night of boxing here at tottenham hotspur stadium but

21:07have it a tight fight with hooney up by one the first three rounds were pretty clear to me
21:13and that last round was pretty close but i definitely felt clark did the cleaner works
21:21after the midway point of the fight andre what are your biggest takeaways well again this fight is
21:26even with you know hooney maybe with a slight edge depending on how you see it i'm looking for
21:31separation i'm looking to see all the new work that clark has done with joe gallagher and if he can
21:38find a way to start pulling ahead and i'm looking for the same thing from hooney these guys are these
21:43guys are in a must win situation so somebody has to find a route to get them some separation from
21:48the
21:48and you wonder when those liver shots by hooney are going to begin to exact their toll on clark well
21:54he's got to throw more body shots and so does clark you know fighters even veteran fighters sometimes
21:59they get away from it they just start to do what we call headhunting and boxing and i get it
22:04you want
22:04the knockout blow but you can also get a knockout with a body shot and david we are seeing sustained
22:09body attack from hooney really putting together a nice couple of left hooks and uh looking at the punch
22:15stats hooney throwing more landing more and a lot of it has to do with that left hand it really
22:21does
22:21and i'll tell you what the conditioning of clark you know the strength and conditioning team have
22:26really done a good job because he's kept the pace up the shots that he's taken he's held them so
22:31far
22:32that as you said the body assault from hooney has been vicious and it hasn't seemed to face him he
22:37hasn't
22:38had to take a step back he's a very very resilient tough man i've heard this for many years from
22:43people
22:43sparring with him they said he's very very tough and strong so if he can have that conditioning as
22:49well he just needs to let his hands go a bit more and try and move that head his head
22:53seems a little
22:53static as he's punching allowing him to get caught
22:59the left hook to the body whenever hooney throws it lands clean and it freezes clark he's landing head
23:05shots right there he's got to keep going to that to that left hook to the body uh hooney against
23:10clark
23:10because it's working momentarily rattled him with that left hook upstairs but 30 seconds now left
23:17in the sixth again clark leaning on the younger hooney who celebrated his 27th birthday a week ago
23:28that was a good right hook a little bit of a a leg shake there from hooney
23:34clark has to give himself some space so he can land another big shot
23:40clark's conditioning as i said tip top
23:45he wouldn't have been able to fight at this pace in his last few fights if you watch his last
23:50few
23:50fights he didn't have this engine well we have the heavyweights front and center here tonight and
23:56josh genzel caught up with one of the heavyweights of rock and roll we're here with rock star royalty
24:04running wood now we're here at the top of the monster stadium you're no stranger to big nice open
24:08air stadiums but this is boxing this is a little bit different isn't it yeah front seat mate i like

24:56division both these heavyweights coming off defeat the first loss for hooney and he suffered a more
25:01personal loss in his training department but really showing up here not only showing that he's mentally
25:07ready but ready to uh deliver his gameplay yeah hooney is fighting with a heavy heart but an inspired
25:13heart he's doing very well and so is frazier clark but again both these guys got stopped by the same
25:19fighter both of these fighters are in similar places in their careers this fight may come down to a heart
25:25thing a grit thing biting down on the mouth guard and saying it's not about x's and o's i just
25:30want it
25:30more than you and i want to see which fighter that's going to be clark up until this point has
25:35been
25:35pressing pressing pressing the action consistently the fact he lost the first three rounds on my
25:40unofficial scorecard and one the foot the round round four to round six shows that he's got that
25:48will to win he's got that drive and he's really doing what he can to to turn the tide
25:57mouthpiece needs to be cleaned and put back in the mouth of justice hooney getting a bit of a respite
26:06as uh to david's point on great clark keeps coming forward now got to come forward but he's got to

26:11effective with it and he's been he's done well but again i can't say it enough there has to be
26:16some
26:16separation because when a fight is this close what happens is both fighters think they won
26:23one fighter walks away disappointed feeling like they got a raw deal and you don't want that if
26:28you're either fighter tonight good two-way action here in the seventh is both ripping heavy shots to
26:33the body as we are just past the midway point and uh this could become
26:41nice left hook to the body by clark and hoody just misses with the right uppercut yeah sometimes it's
26:47an xo thing and it determines you know what matters about who has the better game plan throws
26:52the better punches and sometimes it's a wheel thing baby and i think this is going to come down
26:56to a wheel thing in these last few rounds who who wants it most who literally who can drown the
27:02longest wheels scales and thrills that's what the heavyweight division is all about final minute
27:09of the seventh as they clinch again referee reese carter going to give him a chance to break
27:15so the lighter weight for clark seems to behoove him as he has hooney on the back foot here with

27:22seconds left this is as good as i've seen clark as a professional is that i know it's all about

27:29fighter he's only had the one training camp with joe gallagher is gallagher that good i think it's
27:33gallagher i think it's the the mindset around training he looks very fit you see some abs in
27:39that stomach you know at least trying to pop out you know his legs look very strong and he just
27:44overall he's lighter and he looks quicker looks good overall my abs have been trying to pop out for 50
27:50no luck 10 seconds left here in the seventh hey i might not win for best abs i will always
27:55win for most
27:56guys they're there they're there you just can't see them i've been impressed with his
28:01condition his conditioning and holding his form together when he's fatigued

28:22good boy all right we've got to be smart right you're giving him too much time and are letting him
28:33get off yeah we can't allow him to get off right you're just giving him too much time so touch

28:48so just like joe gallagher and fraser clark are together for the first time so is the case for
28:55justice hooney and his chief second josh arnold and while it's true that hooney's ko percentage
29:01is inferior to clark's hooney has experienced a power surge of sorts as his last three wins have come
29:09inside the distance and we are now into round number eight i agreed with hooney's coach there
29:16telling him to move his feet he's the small man he's giving away significant size and weight he
29:23doesn't need to be standing there against the ropes taking shots he should be a little lighter on his
29:27feet he's coming into range on his own terms land he's fast enough to land when he wants he's no
29:33need to
29:33stand toe to toes trading clipping right hand over the top by hooney in spots hooney looks amazing he
29:42really does put his shots together well he then stands in range and allows a clock to land clubbing
29:49shots around the side of his head which slows him down it reduces his speed hooney backing clark up and
29:56again always leading with the left hand of the body yeah that's not where clark wants to be he's
30:01got to be more disciplined in those moments he drifted back to the ropes his backwards to the
30:05rock right there yes it was and another left right upstairs and the double right uppercut man clark
30:11can take a shot fight has been back and forth ebbs and flows for the duration of these eight rounds
30:18remember he was knocked out in the first of the rematch with fabio warley but showing a stout beard here
