00:33So Cameron in the black, Kodoskova in the blue, ten three-minute rounds for the vacant WBO super welterweight title,
00:42a title that was held by Michaela Mayer, she still holds the WBC and the WBA, she's here tonight.
00:50So that could be a fight that Cameron is looking for down the line, she just opened out the right
00:54hand there, Kodoskova, and I think got caught by right from Cameron.
00:58When you look at the size of Kodoskova in there, Tasha, we saw at the head-to-head after the
01:03weigh-in that she's got some height, she'll have some reach that comes with it, if she can extend that
01:08lead left hand at the minute, she's just trying to fend Cameron off.
01:12Well every time she goes to throw it, Cameron just, it's a bit slow, it's a bit laboured, and she's
01:17hesitating, and Cameron can see it from a mile off, and it's just countering with her backhand over the top.
01:21It was a great shot down the middle.
01:34Let's go, the left hand on the inside there, Cameron followed it up with a right.
01:39She looked more compact, Cameron, nice tight defence, no telegraphing her shots, there's a nice jab.
01:52OK, we're doing a little bit of Chantal's work for her by leaning in and stepping in when she throws

01:59She's closing the space, which is enabling Chantal to even be able to reach her shot.
02:12Combination there from Cameron, finished with a left hand to the body, and goes down to the midriff, which we
02:17have, Kodoskova trying to get that lead left hand working, long right hand there from Cameron, just took her feet
02:22in a little bit closer, Kodoskova pulling out, managed to ride it to an extent.
02:33I mean, we're a little bit closer, we're ringside, but you can hear the difference in the thud of the
02:38shots when they land.

02:47So deep into the final minute of this opening round, Cameron up nice and close, looking for that left hand
02:52to the body.
02:58It's good for work on Cameron as well, when she can see McLoad, she just takes a little step back,

04:39Had a good, methodical, efficient opening round.

04:48He's looking to work.
04:50But you get a feeling that she's having to work relatively hard for a minute to keep Cameron off her.
04:56Yeah, and she's a little bit upright and a little bit jerky as well, expending energy.
05:00But Cameron, very solid look to her, very compact.
05:06I genuinely don't think Cameron respects the shots that's coming back.
05:12She's happy to just sit there, take a few, and then land her own.
05:17When she wants to, she'll move back.
05:18Other times, just cover up.
05:23Looking for that right hand again, just reaching for it slightly.

05:31She's doing a really good, Chantelle, switching the attack.

05:42Yeah, and of course, stepping up to the three-minute round, she'll want her opponent to work hard to get
05:46some work out of her, let her drain.
05:48So she doesn't want to answer back everything.
05:50She wants to take some shots on the gloves and get some work out of Conoscova, try and drain the
05:57battery.
05:59Decent right hand, though, there from Conoscova.
06:02And that gave her some encouragement.
06:03And on the inside, looks to try to look away to the body.
06:06Got nice and low there, off the back of that right hand.
06:09That's some good stuff from her.
06:11Best little passage of the fight so far.
06:13Cameron coming back with a left to the ribcage herself.

06:21Good purchase, digging the toes in.

06:24I think the confidence is maybe just beginning to build a little bit for her here.

06:36There's one thing Chantel loves is a tear-up.
06:39That is where Chantel wants her, where she can throw the uppercut, bring the hooks round the side.
06:47She'll just cover up and respond exactly like we're seeing there.

06:56Conoscova short with the right hand, but then just stepped off to the left,
06:59so Cameron couldn't do too much to capitalize on it.

08:31on that squared circle.
08:33Two rounds in, this is scheduled for ten for the vacant WBO super welterweight title.
08:39Interesting round that second round, Katoskoba got into the fight, she had some decent success,
08:43but you get the feeling that Cameron is going to welcome that sort of ambition from her.
08:52The body there, Cameron, and this is warming up nicely.
09:17Looking for the uppercut there, Cameron, didn't quite manage to land it, Katoskoba from the
09:22outside, with the right hand.
09:27Cameron just following Katoskoba around a little bit, I think she just took a little step to

09:33She'll pin Katoskoba against the ropes in the corner, or maybe she doesn't want to get it
09:36yet, maybe she wants to use those legs and tire herself out a little bit.
09:40And just caught Katoskoba there as she was pulling out with her chin a little bit high,

09:50Covering up well there, Katoskoba, that left to the body from Cameron might have got to her

09:55She's really looking for that uppercut, the second one, I think got through, the left hand
09:58landed, and she's doing some damage here, Chantal Cameron.

10:08Yeah, but again, now Justin Carroll needs to step to her right a little bit, cut the ring
10:12off, and corner Katoskoba, just letting her out a little bit there.

12:33All the talk has been about in the build-up.

12:37She's by no means a given.
12:41Into the fourth round here.
12:44And that was a bit of an effort round from Cameron in that third just to try and see if
12:49she can make some inroads.
12:51Yeah, I thought Katoskova looked really tired at the end of that round.
12:55And it'll be interesting to see how she starts this round.
12:59Yeah, well, she's under pressure.
13:01You know, there's one thing moving around the ring if you're dictating the pace of controlling
13:04but when someone's kind of chasing you around a little bit and you're under pressure, under
13:07urgency, you're burning up a lot more nervous energy.
13:10And I think she did burn up a lot of nervous energy in that previous round.
13:16She's actually doing the right thing here.
13:17She's, like, trying to poke a jab out and then hit her with a single backhand and move.
13:22But she doesn't want to keep backing herself up onto the ropes with nowhere to go.
13:27Cameron being nice and patient that she can be because she's got that 50% wartime that she's been used
13:34to.
13:34Just missing with the right hand there.
13:35Katoskova did well there.
13:37Found herself backed into the corner.
13:38Turned nicely off the ropes.
13:43It is a big, big difference, these three-minute rounds.
13:47It's not that new a thing.

13:51Eight fights she had scheduled for three-minute rounds over varying distances.
13:55More recently, Amanda Serrano and Nina Meinke have been doing it regularly.

14:02I think just hurt Katoskova a little, but she collared it up with a left as well.

14:12I just think with Cameron still just catching the elbow with the left hook.
14:16I think she just needs to step to her own, create that angle and get around the back of the

14:27That nose has been uncorked, I think, by something that Cameron has thrown.
14:32Again, she just tucks up nice and tight, drops those elbows in.
14:35Catches a jab there on the way forward, Cameron, but she's right on top of Katoskova.
14:41Again, that right hand was maybe a little bit low.
14:43The referee didn't have anything to say about it.
14:46She's just trying to work Katoskova over.
14:49But, you know, she's walking her down here, isn't she?
14:53Sometimes when Katoskova's here and she, like, switches off.
14:57And that allows Cameron just a free shot because her hands her down.
15:00And she's trying to reset herself, but she's doing it with her hands her down.

15:09She's trying to dip and roll and slip and stay out of trouble.
15:13But there's just nowhere for her to go here.
15:15As I mentioned, this is a small thing.
15:19Katoskova just trying to lose that one-two, gain herself some kind of respite.
15:24But it's very, very short-lived as she just inches in with that front foot there, Chantelle Cameron.

16:28I'm beginning to wonder just how much more of this she can take.
16:33They're just whipping the towel around, trying to get some fresh cold air to her.
16:37Although she's pretty eager to get back into the fray as we head into the start of round five.
16:43And if you look at Chantelle, she comes out as if it's the first round.
16:48And I think she may have even been told to put it on her.
16:53Well, she started around Southpaw back to Orthodox now.

17:27And one thing about Cameron, for her stature and her size, she has deceivingly long arms.
17:34I remember sparring and I'm thinking, yeah, I'm out of range, I'm out of range.
17:37And you just get clipped.
17:40Well, those are the tools that you need as a f***er arm.
17:43Often you see fighters just drop their arms by their side.
17:46And it's amazing how long those arms just seem to go on for.
17:50It's something that makes you very suited to the job.
17:53Left hand into the body there from Cameron, followed by right.
17:56And Katoskova again just f***ing pedalling.
17:58Finds herself on the ropes.

18:02Yeah, you see the blood coming from the nose here.
18:04So even though she's partially blocking the shots on the gloves,
18:08they're also getting through a little bit as well.
18:10You can see a bit of scoffing and marking around the eyes as well.
18:15Plus a lot of body shots going in from Cameron, jabs the body.
18:19And even some of those ones that, again, Katoskova,
18:21you think she's blocking them on the elbow, but it's still sinking in a little bit.
18:36Good right hand there from Cameron, turned that one over nicely.
18:39Katoskova took it well, backed up to the ropes.
18:43Into the final minute of round five, so we're nearly at the halfway stage.
18:50Great chuff by the pair to them, both landed.
18:53They're both open up at exactly the same time to throw those right hands
18:57and, as you say, hit the target pretty much simultaneously.
19:01She's continuing to work really hard in Katoskova
19:03and it's not like she hasn't had any success.
19:06It's just she's been under the cosh right from the very start.
19:09Nothing she's landed has really caused Cameron too much concern.
19:18I think Cameron's took the biggest shots that she's got
19:23and then is happy to just keep it from Ko and Paula.

19:30I think she's feeling the pace of now as well.

20:03and that's how she looks at this.
20:05This is a step in the road.
20:06That's how Dubois is looking at it.
20:07This is no kind of final destination.
20:10She plans to unify and then move on to bigger and better things.
20:15She's been all business in the build-up to this fight.
20:18You can say exactly the same thing about Chantelle Cameron so far in this one.
20:25And this is where I think the three-minute rounds will play a big part, Tasha,
20:30because she can be patient.
20:31She can just go about her business knowing that she's got time on her side here
20:36to get this done.
20:38I think about that second fight against Katie Taylor
20:40where she did want to go out and look for the stoppage.
20:44She changed from how she went about the first fight.
20:48She neglected really what one of the first fight,
20:50probably because she knew she only had 20 minutes
20:52and if you're going to get the stoppage,
20:54she had to be a bit more gung-ho and it kind of backfired on her.
20:57But with this extra time, well, it's what she's been wanting.
21:01Yeah, and I think one of Chantelle's biggest assets,
21:04like I said before, is her engine and her recovery.
21:07So an extra minute to her literally is playing into her hands.
21:24I think it's a bit of a welt underneath the left eye of Kotoskova now as well
21:29and a clubbing left-hand there from Cameron.
21:35Everything from Kotoskova is like, it's a bit of a tap.
21:40There's nothing behind it.
21:41So Cameron's just either taking it, happy to take it,
21:45or just walking her down.
21:46Some great shots going in there.
21:49That was a good combination, wasn't it, Matt?

22:54But the problem she's got is that she cannot make Cameron take a backwards step.

23:24So she's all the momentum as with Cameron.

24:50Had that WBC interim title but chose to move up in weight.
24:55One thing you can't do if you want to box three-minute rounds is box for the WBC belt.
25:00They won't avoid it.
25:01I've spoken to President Boriccio Suleiman about this and they've done their own research, scientific, medical research and their position
25:09is that it's unsafe for females to box three-minute rounds.
25:12That's the stance they've taken and I don't think they're going to change it any time soon.
25:19So that is a factor.
25:21She's landed a couple of nice right hands here.
25:23Katos Kovar.
25:24I don't think they've had much effect.
25:26Just bounced off Cameron.
25:29Like I said earlier in the previous round, I do think she comes out quite fresh for the first minute.

25:43You can see the head snap back there right above us but she's took it well again, Kogoskova.
25:49Some of these punches from Cameron have got a physical reaction like that.
25:54But at no point does she look like she's about to unravel.
25:59Not yet anyway.

26:06And again finishing with a left hook up top.
26:15It's the uppercut that they're looking for in the corner.

27:14That's good from Kogoskova, still got the energy to dip those knees, get underneath that left hand.

28:23It's been a clash of personalities between Dubois and Harper.
28:27I think Harper's found it quite bemusing at times, to be honest with you, Matt,
28:30that Dubois has felt the need to bring the heat,
28:32particularly from weeks and weeks out at the initial press conference.
28:35I think she found the whole thing a bit baffling,
28:38but different people prepare for fights in different ways.
28:40Yeah, I think Caroline's trying to impose herself,
28:43impose her personality,
28:45trying to intimidate and get in her head.
28:48But I'm not sure if she's been successful.
28:51Terry Harper experience.
28:52It's not her first rodeo,
28:53and she's just kind of brushed it off,
28:55laughed it off,
28:56and stayed composed.
28:58Well, there was that left hook from Konoskova.

29:00which dislodged the gun shield of Cameron.

29:10She's worked terrifically hard in this fight, Konoskova.
29:13It's just difficult to give her much on the cards.
29:16Yeah, I think it was a round two that probably she's got close to having any success.

29:47It's a good return shot from Konoskova.
29:50It was because Cameron was pursuing her to the ropes and looking to unleash.
29:54She just took a step off and landed that right hand.

30:00And as you've been saying, Tash,
30:01the first minute, maybe 90 seconds of the round,
30:04she could show us something.
30:05She has to dig in in the second half of that three minutes, generally speaking.
30:10But her fitness levels, her preparation for this fight,
30:12physically she's in very good condition
30:14because she was offered the fight
30:16and three-minute rounds were put to her.
30:19I don't think she had too much choice in it, to be perfectly honest.
30:21You have to agree, obviously,
30:22but it was one of the terms and conditions.

30:27It's different if you're the champion,
30:30which is why I think maybe Taylor was saying no to it.
30:34But when you're the challenger
30:36and you've got a big opportunity to be on a fight card,
30:39great response there from Konoskova.

30:51And she'll be wanting to, you know,
30:54stake hair clean in front of MVP
30:58on a platform like Sky
30:59to maybe get the call-up to come back and fight somebody else.
31:03And she's sustaining things well in this round so far for Konoskova.
31:06I'd say this is probably her best round of the fight
31:08because Cameron's still walking her down, Matt.

33:02Everybody drags each other through sessions
33:04and they've all got the same goal in common.
33:09Well, it's an individual sport, isn't it?
33:11But trainers, managers, people
33:16who run these organisations,
33:19they have to try and impose that kind of team infrastructure
33:23because there's so much to be gained from it.
33:26If you've got a blend of fighters, different styles,
33:28different stages of their careers,
33:30different work ethics necessarily,
33:32but if you've got some terrifically talented fighters
33:35and a few grafters
33:36and everybody can look at each other
33:37and learn from each other,
33:40that's definitely what they've got there.
33:49Looking for the uppercut

33:52just tip-tapping a bit
33:53and then try to put some more heat on that
33:55right after Kata Skova again.

36:48a really good fighter,

36:51good amateur experience as well,
36:53but she's managed to
36:55transcend that
36:56into the professional.
