00:00Ladies and gentlemen, we are live worldwide on Netflix with this, the special attraction of the evening, a presentation of
00:09Ring Magazine and Netflix and sanctioned by the British Boxing Board of Control, steward in charge, Guy Williams, timekeeper at
00:17the bell, Mark Shannon.
00:19The three judges scoring are Mark Bates, Reese Carter, and Lee Avery, and inside the ring, in charge of the
00:28action at the bell, referee Kieran McCann.
00:33And now, from Tottenham, Hotspur Stadium, London, England, ten rounds of boxing in the Super Welderweight Division.
00:49Introducing first, fighting out of the blue corner, wearing purple, official weight, 148.1 pounds, his professional career, 33 fights,
01:03with 30 victories and 24 of those victories are by knockout.
01:08He has three defeats, fighting out of Nolens, Louisiana, USA, the former light welterweight, champion of the world, the power
01:22-punching southpaw, Regis Rugaloo Program.
01:36And across the ring, his opponent, fighting out of the red corner, wearing black and gold, officially weighing in, at
01:45149.5 pounds.
01:48As a professional, in 25 fights, he has 24 victories, 14 wins by knockout, and only one defeat.
01:59That defeat avenged, making him one of the few fighters who has defeated every man he's faced in the ring.
02:09He's the 2025 fighter of the year candidate, from Essex, England, Connor, the Destroyer, Ben!
02:34Gentlemen, I gave you instructions in the dressing room, you know exactly what I expected of you both, okay?
02:40Keep the fight clean, obey my commands, and most importantly, protect yourself at all times, gentlemen.
02:45Shake hands, let's go.
02:52A crowd in excess of 50,000 on hand for the fourth stadium show in England over the past 12
03:02months,
03:03and the crowd erupting with the opening bell, and they meet in the center of the ring,
03:09the orthodox bend, the southpaw progray.
03:11We're scheduled for 10.
03:14Progray, no matter how old he is, he still has power in that left hand.
03:19You see Ben right now sending a message to progray that I'm the stronger fighter, I'm the bigger fighter,
03:25and Ben's gonna try to get a big shot through early on the chin of progray.
03:29Mauro Ranallo along with Hall of Famer Andre Ward and David the Haymaker,
03:34Hay ringside bringing you all the action, and boy, the action, hot and heavy from the get-go.
03:39Ben leading with the right hand, opening up on progray.
03:42Progray shutting up, trying to fire back.
03:45He's already stiffened the legs of progray.
03:48Right hook, left hook, the intensity.
03:51You mentioned the pressure on Ben.
03:53He's the type of guy who likes to apply it, he doesn't receive it.
03:57Progray's gotta focus on that right jab because he's throwing the left hand,
04:00and he's missing, and he's swinging his back leg in front, and it's keeping him out there for the counter
04:05of Ben.
04:06Progray, with the 1-2 from the southpaw stance, moved his training camp to Las Vegas,
04:11working with Kay Karoma, Ben working with Tony Sims as his chief second,
04:16and with 1 minute 40 seconds left in the first, a scintillating start to this co-main event.
04:22I think progray has to be honest about where he is right now with his legs,
04:26because the legs are not as springy as they used to be.
04:29So when he comes forward, he leaves himself open, like I said.
04:32He needs to try to counterpunch the hard-charging Ben with the left hand and the right hook.
04:37Don't try to go after him right now.
04:38And David, we've seen it now, the evolving trend for progray.
04:42Lower volume, fewer damaging shots, and numbers that sit well below the elite standards of the sport.
04:49That happens as you get older, but he's tricky and crafty.
04:51He just snuck in a cheeky left right down the pipe on Ben.
04:55Ben took it, but he doesn't want to take too many of them.
04:58Progray's got so many skills.
04:59Heads coming dangerously close together as they both come in for the clinch gear.
05:03They've both got to watch out for that, particularly Conor.
05:06He doesn't need to be clashing heads.
05:07Ben made short work of the last 37-year-old former 140-pound champion he faced,
05:13that being Chris Algieri, who was knocked out in four rounds in Liverpool in December 2021.
05:19Right now, Ben does not respect the power of Progray.
05:23Progray, he's got to try to get something in there that at least Ben feels
05:28so he can think twice before he charges in.
05:30Still some snap to those punches from Progray.
05:33Progray seems to be adjusting to the intensity.
05:38Ben touches down on the knee there.
05:41Was that the result of a punch?
05:42I'm not sure.
05:43I don't know either.
05:44When you can watch the replay on that, it was very, very quick.
05:46If it was, it was very flash.
05:48Final 10 seconds of the opening round.
05:51Both Ben and Progray looking to stand their ground, looking to dictate terms.
05:56And we are underway with this.
06:00And goes to work behind the jab.
06:03Progray showed in that round he's still got enough to cause problems.
06:06He landed a good head, landed a good, a few good body shots.
06:10You know, a few people have told me Progray was injured and he wasn't ready.
06:15His legs, there's something up with Progray's legs at the moment.
06:18And at times, Ben punches himself off balance, Andre.
06:21Well, that's who Ben is.
06:23He'll punch himself off balance and then work his way back on balance.
06:26I don't think that's going to change tonight with kind of Ben.
06:29That's just who he is.
06:30But that's what also makes him dangerous because he fights off rhythm.
06:33And he throws punches in places you don't believe he's going to.
06:36And oftentimes, they're hard.
06:38It's hard to prepare for someone who does have that sort of herky-jerky style
06:41where they're throwing shots coming off balance and throwing shots back in.
06:46But Progray, I'm impressed with how Progray is trying to keep Ben at bay
06:50and not allowing himself to be pressed up against the ropes like lots of Ben's opponents.
06:54And you see Eddie Hearn there right beside Anthony Joshua to the left of your screen.
06:58The former promoter of Regis Progray.
07:02There was talk he would not show up here tonight, but he did.
07:05I don't know if he had a chance to visit with Progray in the dressing room,
07:08but his former promoter taking in the action as Zufa Boxing.
07:13Signed Ben to a one-fight deal, and we'll see where that leads
07:17as he's looking to take over the welterweight division.
07:20But right now, he has the veteran Regis Progray to deal with.
07:24Connor Ben is missing a lot of shots to the head of Progray.
07:27He needs to shoot that shot, the right hand and the jab to the chest,
07:31and then ultimately it'll land right on the chin on the temple of Progray.
07:34There's a right hand that landed for Progray.
07:37The jab from the southpaw stands.
07:40Got to shoot it a little bit lower.
07:41He keeps missing.
07:42He's got to make that mental adjustment.
07:47And right now, just like Andre said, two to one in terms of connect advantage for Ben,
07:54throwing a lot more as well.
07:55And oh, Progray threw the punch, touched the canvas.
07:59Floyd Mayweather did that one.
08:01Listen, Progray's not coming forward because he knows that his legs are on shaky ground.
08:05So you have to make an adjustment.
08:08You're an older fighter.
08:09You're a seasoned fighter.
08:10But you're a fighter that has miles on him.
08:12So he knows that if I'm going to be successful, I have to let Ben lead,
08:15and I have to counter.
08:17That's why you don't see Progray going forward very much.
08:19Progray 37 and his opponent 29.
08:22Go ahead, David.
08:23Just like that.
08:24As you said, he's waiting for Ben to make a mistake to counter.
08:27Ben threw a right hand.
08:28He slipped on the outside and threw himself a left hook to Ben's body.
08:31He's looking at trying to steal, steal big punches.
08:34He's not leading off with too much.
08:36Waiting for Ben.
08:37He's throwing plenty of shots to throw something and nail him with a counter.
08:43I think Ben has to think quickness over power.
08:45Everything is power now.
08:47We know you're the bigger fighter, but if you throw a quick and sharp, it'll land hard.
08:50He should be more interested in how many times can he hit him with shots.
08:54Don't worry about the power.
08:56It's an accumulative thing.
08:58Contract weight of 150.
08:59Ben comes out like a cannon fired.
09:01Goes behind the jab.
09:03And Progray standing in front of him, already showing some markings under his left eye.
09:09When the physical tools are not where they used to be,
09:12you have to find a different way to get the job done.
09:14And you see Progray's brain working.
09:16You see him trying to dig in his IQ bag, his experience bag.
09:20He's trying to find a way to try to sneak a shot in there that could possibly hurt Ben.
09:25But right now, he hasn't been able to.
09:27Just too much youth, too much explosiveness, too much speed and power from Ben right now.
09:31And David Progray competing at the heaviest weight since scaling 151
09:35before his November 2013 fight against journeyman Miguel Alvarez in his seventh pro fight.
09:41What do you think thus far?
09:43I think he's doing as well as he can do.
09:45He's been asking a few questions.
09:47He hasn't been able to maintain the pace.
09:49Ben's set a tremendous pace.
09:52Nice right hand and a left by Ben.
09:53Consistent, consistent rhythm.
09:55And this breaks down fighters, particularly older fighters.
09:59Ben is wanting to show his conditioning.
10:03Ben isn't getting tired in here.
10:04He can do this all night.
10:06He can do 15 rounds of this.
10:08Andre, how much additional pressure is on Ben, knowing what we know in terms of his career
10:13progressing outside of the ring?
10:15There's a great deal of pressure, and he understands that.
10:17You know, hometown fights are not just a gimme.
10:19There's more pressure now because you're expected to win.
10:22It's one thing when you're trying to prove people wrong.
10:24But when you're trying to cement a win that everybody expects you to get in this stadium,
10:30with this kind of crowd, it's a huge amount of pressure, and where Ben is in his career
10:34and where he wants to go.
10:35Ben working the jab, third straight fight here at his home away from home, Tottenham Hotspur
10:41Stadium, and he's just picking Progre off with the jab.
10:44No real head movement off the center line for Progre, David.
10:48Progre's using some good head movement, probably 70, 80% of the time he's slipping the shot,
10:53but those 20, 30% are sliding through just like it did then.
10:56And the shots that we would have slipped four, five, six years ago, they're landing now,
11:02and you can't keep taking shots, particularly when someone like Ben, who seems to be framed.
11:06And we mentioned the jab, a two-to-one edge for Nigel Ben, working the stick effectively.
11:12Or Nigel Ben, Conor Ben, thank you.
11:15I was too young to call a Nigel Ben fighter.
11:19Ben, one of my favorite fighters growing up.
11:21The intensity from him, very similar to Conor here.
11:24And fellas, the other, the welterweight division is watching.
11:27Not just who's here tonight, the welterweight division is watching.
11:31All the big names, they're looking at the good and the bad of Conor Ben right now.
11:35And there's not a lot of bad other than Ben not making adjustments to get the right hand through.
11:41Doing, throwing, taking the redundant approach,
11:43and missing shots that he should make a quick adjustment to answer where he can land it.
11:49Ben seems to have a nice rhythm here.
11:52He looks like he's enjoying himself.
11:54He's not fighting beyond himself.
11:56He seems like he hasn't got out of second gear yet.
11:58I know it looks like he's going hell for leather, but this is him just going.
12:02But for Conor Ben, I want to see him employ a different style.
12:06More quickness than power.
12:08More speed than power.
12:09And if you notice, he's throwing the right hand at the same trajectory, the same way,
12:14and he's missing probably more than he's landing.
12:17This is round four.
12:18Scheduled for 10 at a contract weight of 150 pounds.
12:22And Progre coming forward behind the southpaw jab.
12:26Now the left-hand lands for Progre.
12:28Good shot from Progre.
12:29Goes to the bottom of the left.
12:30He's a cut on Ben's right eye.
12:33Good call there, David.
12:35And so a little adversity here now in the fourth round for Conor Ben.
12:40Going to give Progre a little life to see that blood dripping from the eye, Ben.
12:44That's exactly what Progre wanted to do.
12:47He needed some sort of foothold.
12:48He needed something to give himself confidence going into this fight.
12:52As the fight goes further, he's going to need to do something.
12:58Ben opens up on Progre with a multiple punch combination.
13:02Progre seems to have risen in terms of energy-wise.
13:06He looks like he's controlling.
13:07He definitely has.
13:08He seems that blood.
13:09Yeah, best performance of the fight for Progre in this fight.
13:12He's landing clean shots now.
13:14All of a sudden he has the confidence because he's starting to believe that maybe I can win.
13:18Maybe I can push the younger fighter back, and maybe I still do have it.
13:23It just takes a small thing to click something on in the brain of a fighter
13:27who's questioning himself in the moment.
13:29Good shot from Ben.
13:30And if you look at the feet, the front foot, the right foot of Progre and the left foot of
13:35Ben,
13:36Progre's always having his right foot on the outside of Ben's left foot,
13:41and he's able to come inside.
13:43Ben, not that conditioned fighting Southpaws,
13:47but Progre, the majority of his opponents have been orthodox, right-handed.
13:53So as it gets into the meat of this fight, the skills of the Southpaw should have some type of
14:01advantage.
14:01Or is that advantage going to be enough to outweigh the condition and youth of Ben?
14:07Final minute of the fourth round, and Progre has had better work here in the fourth,
14:13but Ben's still right behind that jab, blocks that punch.
14:19Looking for Ben to make an adjustment, fellas.
14:22He's backing up, retraining, and then firing off a one-two that Progre blocked.
14:27This is when you start to see what's in a fighter's bag.
14:31We know you have strength.
14:32We know you have power in the right hand if you can land it.
14:35You're not landing it the last couple rounds.
14:38You need to see an adjustment from Conor Ben to show you how deep his bag really is.
14:42Ben lands the left hook upstairs.
14:44There's the jab.
14:45They come at close quarters.
14:46Body shot by Ben before he clinches with Progre.
14:49Final 15 seconds of the fourth round.
14:52The best round of the fight so far for Progre isn't enough on the judges' scorecard.
15:07There you go.
15:08So it's not a punch.
15:09It's not a punch.
15:10That's an accidental head flash.
15:11Fake news.
15:12Yeah, fake news.
15:13I saw it in my own eyes.
15:14Left hand there by Progre to the body.
15:17This is getting interesting now.
15:19Ben came out completely controlled and dominated in that last round.
15:23Progre really brought his own ideas to the game.
15:27Yeah, but Ben is opening up here in the fifth,
15:30starting to take the fight back to Progre,
15:32but Progre standing his ground,
15:35avoiding a lot of these punches,
15:37going to the body with the left hand.
15:38Yeah, but Progre has tasted the power of Ben.
15:42Not to say he can't be hurt.
15:43Not to say he can't be knocked out.
15:45But thus far, he's comfortable with what he's felt.
15:47So now he's starting to open up a little bit more,
15:50plus the blood that he saw on the eye of Ben.
15:52I'm going to say it again.
15:53Ben has shown that he can be strong and powerful.
15:57What else do you have?
15:59How else can you set the table
16:01so you can eat with the punches
16:02that you normally knock fighters out with?
16:04That's the question I have right now.
16:06What adjustments is he going to make
16:08to keep this very, very talented two-time champion at bay?
16:15Progre is Ben's first softball opponent since April 2022,
16:19when Ben stopped Chris Van Heerden in two rounds.
16:22And Ben now flashing the jab, circling Progre right in front of him.
16:28High guard.
16:29There's a straight left hand down the middle for Progre.
16:31Ben fires back to the body.
16:36This is where we're going to see what Ben's about now.
16:39He's got someone, a world-class fighter in front of him
16:41with a game plan who's trying to really ask him questions.
16:45And so far, he's answering them.
16:47He's answering them really well.
16:48But he's going to need to really start digging in.
16:51He's only got 10 rounds.
16:53It's not a 12-round fight,
16:54so he has to get his work done nice and cleanly.
16:56And we're just over a minute left
16:58in the first half of this 10-round affair.
17:01Progre gets another shot in on Gray.
17:03Progre's landing some nice shots.
17:05Single shots, but nice shots nonetheless.
17:07That was a good left hook to the body by Ben.
17:10If you're Progre, you don't acknowledge that shot.
17:12Even if you think it was an illegal shot,
17:14you've got to go back and get your money.
17:16You've got to go back and take the play back.
17:18Hit Ben with a body shot.
17:19Don't complain about it.
17:20Progre interested in making this a two-way battle.
17:24Progre going to the body with a series of lefts.
17:27That's how you get your respect.
17:28And these two now earning each other's respect.
17:34See, the confidence of Progre growing by the moment.
17:38Ben has to shut that down by landing a good shot
17:41that hurts him just like he did at the end of that first round.
17:44There's definitely been a shift in momentum.
17:47There was no momentum from Progre early
17:49in the first two, three rounds.
17:51And here comes Ben.
17:5315 seconds left in the first half of this fight.
17:59Referee warning Ben.
18:04This is what world-class boxing is about.
18:06You can't have it your own way the whole time.
18:09There are ebbs and flows.
18:12Oh, in the second half of this fight,
18:15Regis Progre appears to be gaining more confidence.
18:18Conor Ben wants to prove to the world
18:21that he is a force to be reckoned with
18:24in one of the best weight divisions in the sport,
18:26the welterweight division.
18:28And the pressure is on.
18:29The one-fight deal, the make of money.
18:32Is Conor Ben going to rise to the occasion?
18:35He got tagged with the left hand right there.
18:38He's been getting tagged with left hands
18:39the last two or three rounds,
18:40looking for the adjustment,
18:42not just offensively, but also defensively.
18:44When I see a fighter get hit with the same punch
18:47and the same hand,
18:48our straight starts to raise questions.
18:49Do they know how to get out of the way?
18:51Do they know how to make the adjustment?
18:53We're watching it in real time right now.
19:00Ben trying to get Progre to bite down on his face.
19:04Right uppercut by Ben.
19:06Some of the body work,
19:07even though there are single shots from Ben
19:09have been really, really good.
19:10He needs to stay downstairs
19:11and then look to come back upstairs.
19:13That's how he can shock Progre
19:15and let another good shot.
19:16Another uppercut by Ben.
19:17Go ahead.
19:18He's calmed down a little bit
19:19and he's trying to pick his shots.
19:21That right uppercut to the body
19:23landing, followed by a right uppercut to the head.
19:26There you go.
19:27Step jab, body shot by Progre.
19:29Looks like another cut on the opposite eye of him.
19:31Another haircut.
19:32Yeah, another cut.
19:33So now Ben dealing with cuts over both eyes.
19:37David Hayes' unofficial scorecard
19:38has this very close.
19:40The drama intensifies
19:42here at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
19:46And boy, high drama for Conor Ben,
19:50whose face quickly becoming
19:52the proverbial crimson mask.
19:55Conor Ben's got to take advantage
19:56of the blood going in the eye of Ben,
19:58and he's got to try to land the shot
20:00while the blood is flowing in his eye.
20:02You may be at home and say,
20:03oh, that's not fair.
20:04This is boxing.
20:06That's how it goes.
20:07I remember getting my first cut
20:08against Jacob Fragomeni
20:10as the first time I didn't realize
20:12your vision completely blurs.
20:14Ben having two cuts
20:15on either one in each eye
20:17can really affect his vision.
20:19We have the clash of the giants
20:21in the main event.
20:22We have clash of heads here
20:23between Ben and Progre.
20:25And Ben's father, Nigel,
20:26looking on.
20:28And that's sad.
20:29As that cut lurks,
20:30Ben looks unbothered at the moment.
20:31He does.
20:32It doesn't seem like it's affecting
20:33these slipping punches.
20:34He's not showing any signs
20:35of impaired vision.
20:37And there is that sense of urgency
20:39now with Ben,
20:40knowing he's been cut,
20:41amping up his intensity,
20:43and the referee telling Ben
20:44to stop talking to Progre.
20:46We're the ones paid
20:47to talk here tonight, Andre.
20:51Nice clubbing left-hand there
20:52by Ben.
20:53That hurt.
20:54That hurt Progre.
20:54Got his attention a little bit.
20:56You see the legs wobble
20:57just a little bit.
21:00Ben seems to be faster.
21:01He should be using that speed.
21:04A shot fainting.
21:07So, Conor Ben has been cut
21:09over both eyes.
21:11Regis Progre trying to make
21:14leg difficult for the native son.
21:18Seems to be in check
21:20as we begin round seven.
21:22Scheduled for 10.
21:23Sharp jab lands for Ben
21:25to begin the round.
21:27Conor Ben responding
21:28the way a fighter's supposed
21:29to respond when they get cut.
21:30He's unbothered.
21:32He's not focused on it.
21:33He's staying focused
21:34on the opponent
21:35and the game plan in hand.
21:40Nice left-hand lands upstairs
21:42for Progre.
21:43Like that.
21:44Progre leaned in slightly.
21:46Timed counter bend.
21:47A single shot
21:48but a clean shot.
21:50Progre's legs
21:51seem to be a little unsteady.
21:53I'm not sure
21:53if that's a balanced thing
21:56or are the rumors
21:57about an existing injury
21:59coming into the fight?
22:00No, there's no injury.
22:01It's just Miles
22:01on the old dominant.
22:03That's Miles.
22:04That's wear and tear.
22:05That's all that is.
22:06There's nothing about an injury.
22:07It is his 34th professional fight.
22:09He's been in many battles
22:11and here he's in
22:12another pitched battle
22:13with Conor Bend
22:15younger
22:16by eight years
22:17coming off the big win
22:19over Chris Eubank Jr.
22:21here at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
22:23and Ben now looking
22:24to put together combinations.
22:26Ben's asserting himself
22:28testing the take,
22:29testing the mind
22:30and the body of Progre
22:31with twos, threes and fours
22:33and many of those shots
22:35have landed clean
22:36in this round.
22:37He's setting a hell of a pace.
22:40He's knocking Progre off balance.
22:42He is.
22:42He really pushed him off balance.
22:44The inside work.
22:47He's trying to use
22:48his advantages
22:49which is his size
22:50and his strength
22:51and his power.
22:53The key adjustment
22:54Ben made
22:55when he started to go
22:56to the body
22:56with a two-pisted attack.
22:57And that was his
22:58corner's instruction.
22:59And that opened up
23:00the head shots.
23:01The same head shots
23:02that he was leading with
23:03that he started missing.
23:05Now all of a sudden...
23:06Oh, my goodness.
23:07Ripping the body shot
23:08and another look
23:09to the body.
23:10Ben really putting
23:12the oomph
23:13in those body shots
23:14to Progre.
23:14It's tight but it's right.
23:16Progre better get his defense up
23:18and start hitting Ben
23:19to the body
23:20because Ben is ripping
23:21both shots.
23:22Another shot
23:22to the body.
23:23Final minute.
23:24He keeps landing those shots.
23:25We might not be here
23:26very long
23:27because they're landing clean.
23:29Right hand lands
23:30for Progre upstairs.
23:32Ben hands a little long.
23:33Ben got momentarily
23:34stopped there
23:35but comes forward.
23:36Progre going to the body.
23:38His body shots
23:39are draining Progre.
23:41He better get his defense up
23:42and protect his body
23:44and try to counter Ben.
23:46That's another way
23:46you stop a fighter
23:47from hitting you
23:48to the body.
23:48you block counter
23:49and he thinks twice
23:50before he reaches down there.
23:52The fight offered
23:53at 150
23:54with no re-idration clause.
23:56Progre said additional money
23:57was negotiated
23:58because of the weight situation.
24:01Oh!
24:02Now that
24:03weight
24:03behind the punches
24:05of Ben.
24:06Nasty body attack
24:07from Connor Ben.
24:08He wanted to see adjustments
24:10like you just saw
24:10at this round.
24:11keeps targeting
24:12the breadbasket.
24:13The midsection
24:15of Regis Progre
24:16sapping
24:17the energy
24:18looking to steal
24:19the soul
24:19of Rougarou.
24:21Big round for
24:22Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
24:23and this has been
24:25one of the
24:25fights they came to see.
24:28The co-main event.
24:29Connor Ben
24:29going to the body
24:30with the left hook.
24:31Regis Progre
24:32a former two-time champion
24:33at 140
24:34moving up to 150
24:36to meet this challenge.
24:38and Ben unloading
24:40on the American.
24:41Connor Ben
24:42needs to stay in the body.
24:43Go to the body first
24:44then it's to the head second.
24:46Shoot low.
24:47That's right.
24:48The more he shoots low
24:49the more Progre
24:50brings his arms down
24:51so when he does go
24:52for the head assault
24:53he can show down
24:54and go high.
24:55All right.
24:56Let's take a look
24:56at the statistics
24:57according to CompuBox
24:59as we are into
25:00the eighth round
25:01scheduled 4-10
25:02and Ben again
25:04putting together
25:05combinations.
25:06Progre trying
25:07to stymie his attack.
25:21Progre's face
25:23showing the wear and tear
25:24not just of this fight
25:25but of his career, Andre.
25:26It's a long career
25:27and you know
25:29it is what it is.
25:30It's part of the fight game.
25:31We all got to deal
25:32with it as fighters
25:33but Progre needs to find
25:35another adjustment.
25:36Progre made an adjustment
25:38now Ben made
25:39another adjustment.
25:40Does Progre have anything
25:41in his bag
25:42to stop these body shots
25:43from landing?
25:44Yeah, Progre sparred
25:45with former welterweight champion
25:47Sean Porter
25:48as useful preparation
25:49because of course
25:50Porter brings
25:51a lot of pressure
25:52but he's even bigger
25:54than Ben
25:55and Progre thought
25:56that the work
25:57with Porter
25:57would help him
25:59avoid the physicality
26:00of Ben.
26:01That's nothing the case.
26:02Well, sparring is great.
26:04You need it
26:05to get you ready
26:06but it doesn't tell
26:07the whole story.
26:07You have to execute
26:08when you get in there
26:09with the opponent
26:10in real time
26:11small glove
26:12and in front of
26:13a live crowd.
26:22Case has abated a bit
26:24here in the eighth
26:25as Progre looking
26:26to go to the body
26:27Ben using
26:28that upper body
26:29movement.
26:30I think one adjustment
26:31Progre can make
26:32is hit Ben to the body.
26:34He's had success
26:34not a lot
26:35but at moments
26:36when he does throw
26:37it's working for Ben
26:38it can work for Progre.
26:43This is the perfect match
26:45for Ben.
26:46He's been asked questions
26:48he's had to
26:48dig in deep.
26:53What about the questions
26:55that boxing fans
26:57may be saying
26:57yeah but he's fighting
26:58a blown up
26:59140 pounder.
27:01The guy's landing shots
27:04Progre's landing
27:05good quality shots
27:06and what did he
27:07what did he weigh today?
27:08He wasn't his notch
27:09He's been at 148.1
27:13so actually under
27:14the 150 pound limit
27:15and for Ben
27:17Ben was 149.5
27:20Oh body shot
27:21and the right hand's
27:22upstairs by Ben
27:23at the bell.
27:24Two time heavyweight
27:26champion Tyson Fury
27:27returns after his
27:28fifth retirement
27:29against knockout
27:31artist Arslan Bex
27:32Mahmoudov
27:33that will come your way
27:34minutes after the
27:35conclusion of
27:36tonight's co-feature
27:38attraction
27:38the penultimate round
27:40and Conor Ben
27:41putting together
27:42the combinations
27:43as we look at
27:44David Hayes
27:45unofficial scorecard
27:47and he has been
27:48pulling away.
27:49Can Progre find a way
27:51to get to the end
27:51of this fight
27:52because Conor Ben
27:53is applying a lot
27:54of pressure
27:55and can Ben
27:56find a way
27:56to get a shot
27:58or the shots
27:58through
27:59that stops
28:00the veteran
28:00Regis Progre?
28:03obviously it's easier
28:04said than done
28:05David
28:05but how much
28:07would a knockout
28:08help Ben
28:09moving forward?
28:10I think
28:11exactly what's
28:12happened is the
28:13perfect thing
28:13he's getting
28:14quality rounds
28:15and it's very
28:16difficult to get
28:16rounds against Ben
28:18so this is the type
28:19of fight
28:19this is a learning
28:20fight
28:20if he can get
28:21the stoppage
28:22great
28:22but he doesn't
28:23want to risk
28:24walking onto
28:24something
28:25just to get
28:26the ring
28:26he's won the
28:27majority of the
28:28rounds
28:29and remember
28:30he's a young
28:31fighter coming
28:32through these
28:32quality fights
28:34that he's going
28:34to get better
28:35and when you
28:36look at the
28:36lay of the land
28:37at welterweight
28:38what do you
28:39think about
28:39Ben's performance
28:40when you consider
28:41what the championship
28:42level is like
28:43in this division
28:44Andre
28:44yeah Ben
28:45is going to have
28:46to continue to
28:46grow because
28:47you start getting
28:48to that upper
28:48echelon in the
28:49welterweight division
28:51there's going to be
28:51adjustments
28:52and more adjustments
28:54and more adjustments
28:55that are made
28:55at that level
28:56and this fight
28:57is going to be
28:58compared to the
28:59fight that
28:59Devin Haney
29:00had with Regis Progre
29:01you can bet
29:01that
29:02Ben
29:04is starting
29:05find some flow
29:06right hand
29:07on the inside
29:08as they clinch
29:08minute and a half
29:10left in the
29:11ninth round
29:16body shot
29:17very good
29:18body shot
29:19there's Progre
29:20going to the body
29:21Delegis is a dog
29:23man he's tough
29:23he's got no quit
29:25in him
29:25and even though
29:26offensively
29:27he's not putting
29:28forth enough effort
29:29the toughness
29:30and the durability
29:30is there
29:31and I respect that
29:32while he may be
29:32past his peak
29:33like you said
29:34he's got the
29:34experience
29:35the athletic
29:35instincts
29:36and the proven
29:37punching power
29:38he has never
29:39been stopped
29:42I can see why
29:43as well now
29:44Ben's landed
29:45some concussive
29:46shots
29:46many fighters
29:48in and around
29:48this weight
29:49wouldn't have
29:50had to take
29:50this type of
29:51abuse
29:52Ben with
29:5314 knockouts
29:55Progre
29:55with
29:58Ben's pace
29:59his fitness
30:00his conditioning
30:01he looks the same
30:03he looks the same
30:03as he did
30:04in the first round
30:04I don't know
30:07why this was
30:07a 10 rounder
30:08yeah
30:09Pro
30:09oh
30:10Progre
30:10his face
30:11beginning to
30:12look like
30:13it was put together
30:14like a ransom note
30:15Andre
30:15he's eating a lot
30:16of leather upstairs
30:17but he is
30:18tough
30:18he's getting hit
30:19with a lot of leather
30:20and he's light skin
30:20man
30:21that light skin
30:21problem
30:22you know
30:22if the wind
30:23blows too hard
30:24you don't have
30:24the mark
30:24on your face
30:29yeah
30:30swelling
30:31over that
30:31left eye
30:34will
30:34Connor
30:35Ben
30:36put an
30:36emphatic
30:37closure
30:37on the
30:38show
30:38can
30:38Regis
30:39Progre
30:39pull out
30:40one last
30:41big punch
30:43you know
30:44Ben wants
30:45a stoppage
30:45he's wanted
30:46it from
30:46the first round
30:47and he's
30:48doing whatever
30:48he can
30:49to get it
30:49including
30:50pushing
30:51Progre
30:52down
30:55if he doesn't
30:56stop Progre
30:57it wasn't
30:57through a lack
30:58of effort
30:59put it that way
31:01Progre is literally
31:02falling all over
31:03the place
31:03back there
31:04very unsteady
31:05legs
31:10what about
31:11the adage
31:11that once you
31:12move up
31:12and wait
31:13it's harder
31:13to move
31:13back down
31:14he's only 29
31:15so is that
31:16a problem
31:17for a guy
31:17like Ben
31:18if we haven't
31:18seen any
31:19of those
31:20issues here
31:20tonight
31:21in terms
31:21of his
31:22power
31:22right
31:22no issues

31:23if he

31:27I think
31:27he'll be
31:28fine
31:28he said
31:29that as

31:30so we
31:30have to
31:30take him
