HAWK SWOOPS IN AS BIRDS CRASH INTO WINDOW IN DRAMATIC MOMENT
WITH VID
BY DIVIJ MAYER
Check out the chaotic moment a hawk attacks as smaller birds crash into a home all caught on a doorbell camera.
Kara Carlson, from Lino Lakes, Minnesota, USA, captured the incident on her doorbell camera as a group of dark-eyed juncos gathered near a bird feeder on her front porch.
The footage shows the birds feeding peacefully before a hawk suddenly swoops in at high speed. Startled, the birds scatter in all directions, with two flying directly into the home’s window and front door before dropping onto the stoop.
Within seconds, the hawk dives down and grabs one of the fallen birds, completing the hunt almost instantly. The entire sequence unfolds in just a few moments, highlighting the speed of the attack.
Kara said: “It all happened within seconds the birds scattered, hit the window, and the hawk was right there.”
Viewers shared their thoughts in the comments.
One wrote: “Looks like the songbirds were fleeing the hawk and then the house did the job for him.”
Another added: “Hawk hunting songbirds. Likely a Sharp-shinned or Cooper’s Hawk based on the style of hunt and long tail. Unfortunately birds can’t see or recognize a window so when the hawk is hunting them the window appears to be an escape.”
