WOMAN BUILDS FLOATING WHEELCHAIR TO HELP PET FISH LEARN TO SWIM AGAIN
WITH VID
By Soban Aslam
Watch as a devoted pet owner creates a custom floating support device to help her fish recover from a serious condition.
Angela Chaisson, a store associate from Northwood, New Hampshire, USA, shared the touching moment from her home aquarium.
The video shows her fish, Mr. Sue, fitted into a small handmade float designed to keep him upright in the water.
Mr. Sue suffers from swim bladder disorder, which previously left him stuck upside down and unable to control his movement.
After months of care, including changes in diet and water conditions, he is no longer floating at the top but still struggles to swim due to weakened muscles.
To help rebuild his strength, Angela carefully designed the device using tubing and connectors, allowing him to move and exercise safely.
The clip shows the fish gently moving and even attempting to swim, highlighting his gradual progress.
The heartwarming effort showcases the owner’s dedication as she continues helping her pet regain strength through what she calls 'fishycal therapy.'
Angela said: "This float was merely only temporary when I was able to watch him and the original prototype rubbed on his protective slime coat and led to irritation and some bleeding. I quickly altered it a few times until I found a more permanent prototype
"His wounds healed up quickly as well. I am pushing him to get stronger daily with a lot of TLC and extra hands on FISHYCAL THERAPY TRAINING."

00:00Here's Mr. Sue in his little floaty handicap chair thing.
00:05It keeps him afloat just so that he's not upside down and like not upright.
00:11This is weighted perfectly so it holds him against his body and the vicious float that he has.
00:20I'm still tweaking. I'm still working on it because it's giving him rashes on his old one.
00:26So this one, not as bad. Sometimes it does but this is only temporary during the day.
00:34So he gets some exercise because he's been upside down and bent on one side for so long that his
00:42muscles in his tail and his back end are like weak.
00:48So I'm using this to build up muscle back up in his body so that he could possibly swim like
00:55normal fish again.
00:57He's not floating at the top anymore which is his great success.
01:02But now he just sits at the bottom upside down.
01:05So I built this just to get him some strength back and hopefully he'll be swimming like normal again.
01:14And there's O.J. with some lovin'.
01:16I'm surprised. They were really lovin' today.
01:20And every spot on this thing is not rubbing in his gills by the way.
01:26It's not rubbing so that he can't breathe.
01:29He's actually eating here as you can just see.
01:31I was just feeding him but he tries.
01:34Like he'll give a little push and like he'll spit around and when this fish swim by he like, he
01:42wants to play.
01:45Hi, Mr. Zoo.
01:47He's so cute.
01:48He's like, where'd mama go?
01:49There she is.
01:51Aw, look at him.
01:53Anyways.
01:54Yep.
01:56I'm still tweaking on this.
01:58But watch him here.
01:59He like, he wants to play.
02:02He's like, zoom, zoom.
02:04They're in love.
02:05They always have been since I've had the two of them.
02:08She's always right next to him.
02:11Look at him.
02:14Every day is better and better.
02:17I just need to help him strengthen that tail end.
02:20But he's trying.
02:21He wants to.
02:23He wants to go.
02:24Look at him.
02:26I'm meant to see.
02:30And he needs to look at him.
02:31He wants to see.
