RESILIENT RESCUE DOG TAKES FIRST STEPS WITH NEW PROSTHETIC
WITH VID
BY LAKSHYARTHA SHARMA
Watch this clip where a brave rescue dog named Betty takes her first steps with a brand-new prosthetic, marking a heartwarming milestone in her recovery journey.
Sophia Cianfrani from New York captured the emotional moment as Betty, who was adopted after being found as a stray in Queens, begins adjusting to her new limb and even manages an excited little jump.
She quoted in her own words:
“We adopted Betty last October. She was found as a stray in Queens and brought to the city shelter. We fostered her with a local rescue (Every Last One) and adopted her after 3 weeks. Betty is missing her back paws on one leg and half of her leg on the other. Betty’s history is a mystery to us since she was found as a stray, but our vet says her missing feet are likely a result of trauma. There is scarring around the bottom of her leg. Last week Betty got a prosthetic to help her walk! She was so excited and we saw her jump for the first time. She is still getting used to the device and can only wear it for short periods of time, but she improves every day! She is the sweetest, most resilient girl.”
Viewers were quick to share their support, with one commenting, “Omg this is incredible. so happy for Betty!!!”
While another added, “Omg!!! You’re doing so good girlie!!”
