00:01All right, so the Ministry of External Affairs welcoming the US-Iran ceasefire or US-Iran-Israel
00:09ceasefire. India says, and I quote it here first, hope the ceasefire leads to a lasting peace. Expect
00:15unimpended passage through the Hormuz. De-escalation, dialogue, diplomacy will end the war. War
00:20cause immense suffering to people. So that's the latest statement that has come in from the
00:24External Affairs Ministry. Randeev Jaisfal also held a press conference just about a short while
00:28ago. Let's listen to it.
00:39We welcome the ceasefire, as also it is our expectation that dialogue and diplomacy that
00:45we are emphasizing on will lead to an early return of peace in the region. As to the position
00:53of other countries, it is best left for them to speak about it. We welcome the ceasefire,
01:03as also it is our expectation that dialogue and diplomacy that we are emphasizing on will
01:09lead to an early return of peace in the region. As to the position of other countries, it is
01:17the best left for them to speak about it. About to bring in now, India today's Shivani Sharma
01:24for the latest on that. Shivani, so that's of course a welcome statement like most countries
01:28are giving. How do you think India will progress considering right next door, across the border,
01:33Pakistan could be playing a mediator? See, Pooja, Pakistan which happens to be the biggest sponsor
01:39of terrorism is now trying to save and change its image and it's trying to play that mediator
01:45role. But certainly everybody knows the truth, what has been happening in Pakistan, the condition
01:50of people out there and what actually is happening on ground when it comes to India. India has always
01:57been on the side of peace. There have been multiple phone calls which Prime Minister Nadeem
02:02Modi, the external affairs minister have been making since this conflict was on. And today the MEA
02:08statement has very clearly stated that India wants that there should be de-escalation through dialogue
02:14and there has been a lot of pain that people have already undergone because of this whole conflict
02:20and it also affected the trade networks across the globe. So now peace should be lasting. That's the message
02:27that is coming in from India and as Randeer Jaiswal, the spokesperson of MEA also clarified that it's
02:33good and it's best that it is left on those countries that are claiming to be the peacemakers
02:40and certainly the whole world knows the truth about Pakistan.
02:44Alright, clearly I hope that the USA and Iran of course realise Pooja has been a friend, partner and a
02:49more sensible
02:50nation but well it's a choice that they have made and we'll see how this goes. I would appreciate you
02:54joining us.
02:54Shivani India has welcomed our diplomacy dialogue de-escalation will end the war.
