00:00All right. So what is your opinion of this hole and hole locations that are tucked in specifically, maybe on
00:06that left side or even the front right?
00:09I think we can both agree the back pins, you're fine pushing it up.
00:13But when it's up on the front towards the front of the green on the left side, what's your general
00:17opinion?
00:17Lay it up or send it?
00:20I'm a big fan and I'm in the minority here.
00:23So maybe people, you know, wouldn't necessarily agree with it.
00:26I'm a I'm a big fan to those two pins that you're talking about, like front right and the Sunday
00:32pin, which tends to be five on the left side of laying the ball up equidistant with the last couple
00:38of fairway bunkers.
00:40So, you know, certainly in doing that, you are playing to a much narrower fairway.
00:47But, you know, you're basically hitting a hybrid or some kind of long iron to that point.
00:53So I think I like going to to the front right hole location.
00:57And that's famous Sunday pin there with some spin because I think I don't this is this is a part
01:06of the golf course where the winds tend to swirl.
01:08I don't like laying it back short of all the bunkers because you're back there with a nine nine or
01:12something.
01:13And the green plays so much smaller than it actually is over the greens.
01:18No good. Short of the greens. No good. You've got to step up and hit a shot there.
01:21So I like, you know, getting something around ninety five yards by laying the ball up, as I said, there
01:27towards the end of those bunkers.
01:29So you want to take on the risk and hitting it in these fairway bunkers.
01:33And is that because of what you've seen over the years?
01:37People screwing up, trying to hit driver off the tee and just making a mess of chipping it short and
01:42chipping it long?
01:43Yeah. You know, you know, certain, you know, it's a given that the short's no good, but long left there,
01:49especially to a flag on the left side of the green is absolutely, you know, a devastating place.
01:55There's moguls over there. You get awkward lies. You get awkward stances.
02:00And I mean, literally, if the wind's swirling and you misjudge it, I've seen balls, you know, back there towards
02:05the fourth tee.
02:07So I just, you know, to me, if we're going to win the Masters, Smiley, we've got to step up
02:11and we've got to hit shots.
02:12And that's why I don't mind laying it up to that skinny part of the fairway that we talked about.
02:17But, you know, I love sending it off the off the tee with driver to two of the four locations
02:25on the green.
02:25But the other two, I like leave myself a full L L wedge.
02:29Well, I got really bad news for you because it's Sunday of Augusta and I tried to hit it exactly
02:35where you're talking about.
02:36And I hit it underneath those pine trees to the right over there because I didn't want to go in
02:41that fairway bunker.
02:42And I tried to hit this punch cut up their bones and this ball just took the biggest first bounce.
02:47And maybe just myself just misjudging how how how into the grain or how that first bounce was going to
02:54be.
02:54And this thing just rocketed over the green back towards back towards that fourth hole.
03:00And you want to talk about some stress on a Sunday, put yourself 30 yards over that green and try
03:04to find a way to walk away with a bogey at best.
03:07Right. We're begging for five before back there. That's for sure.
03:11Yeah, I think some kind of semi flop into the middle of the green and hopefully to put and get
03:16out of there.
03:16And as you know, Smiley, when you're putting from the middle of the green to the Sunday pin over that
03:21front left hole location,
03:22it's one of the fastest putts on that golf course because you're going towards Ray's Creek, which is way off
03:29in the distance.
03:29So you're you're putting to me in an area where the water tends to drain and the greens that much
03:35faster because of it.
