00:00how about the masters smiley unbelievable for rory oh my gosh it was fantastic uh what a week

00:06and just trying to play catch up i mean the last two days everybody's talking about

00:11career legacy for rory mcroy and uh what we witnessed this past sunday it had to be one

00:17of the best uh golf tournaments that you know that we've seen in a very long time

00:21it really was uh smiley it was a tremendous watch and there was so much you know i actually said to

00:28scotty the other day i really thought it was the best sporting event period so far this year it was

00:35better than super bowl it was better than the ncaa tournament you know obviously we've got a lot of

00:40other things coming our way but when you look at the roller coaster the ups and downs the hype going

00:45in everyone thinking rory versus bryson bryson's pretty much finished by the turn and suddenly

00:51rose and ludwig uh come charging and roaring on 13 it was the wildest what was it five and a half

01:00hours from two from two o'clock to 6 30 that i think you could possibly ever have you had to be loving it

01:06uh oh i mean it felt like longer than that too because it was just painful right it was so hard

01:12watching rory mackerel he tried to close out the career grand slam and to do it at augusta national

01:18as well the masters the green jacket the one that got away the storyline was fantastic and the when he

01:25hit it in the water on 13 mike i could not believe my eyes what i had witnessed probably maybe one of the

01:31easiest shots as far as just what you had to do in that scenario uh i mean it was as easy as it gets

01:38rory mackerel and somehow hits it in the water next thing you know he's bogey in the 14th which i thought

01:43was maybe the easiest hole uh that day with where the hole location was cut so it goes double on a par

01:48five and then bogey on an easy par four and then now he's got to make magic happen and that shot he

01:54did on the 15th hole 16th hole 17th hole with those irons i'll never forget it uh just absolutely clutch

02:02and then he gets 18 after an amazing drive and hits in the bunker i'm like oh my gosh it's happening

02:07again and i was like is he gonna lose this so that constant back and forth of is he going to

02:14is he going to choke this away or going is he going to win was fascinating and the shot out of the bunker

02:20was great the shot was good bunker on 18 was unbelievable and then he misses a punt reminiscent

02:27of the u.s open last year to force the playoff which was just the whole thing was wild now let me

02:32ask you this because i've seen this talked about a lot and i know you guys talked about on the show too

02:36this now removes a massive weight off of this guy this is all this guy thought about was winning

02:42the masters getting the jacket having the career grand slam he's now uh smiley done it all there's

02:49nothing else left for him in terms of you know accolades and things to get all he can do now smiley

02:55is stack them up and get more and more will this free up rory to where he can win one two three four

03:04more major championships i i think it very well could and it's such a good major season for him

03:10uh clearly getting off to a great star winning a green jacket but where he heads to next he blew

03:16the field away last year at the wells fargo talking about quail hollow where the pga championship is

03:21going to be so right now you're thinking okay there's a good chance he goes back to back major

03:26champions uh major championships i should say and you know the rest of the year you got oakmont which

03:32is a big piece of property helps to be a long player there and then he's been fantastic at u.s

03:37opens too if you go look back and look at his record how good he's been and then he's looking

03:41for revenge from uh last season and then of course the royal port rush i mean this is northern ireland

03:47his uh a little bit of a revenge too for that and missing the cut there back in 19 so i mean i'm not

03:53saying he's gonna win all the majors this year all i'm saying is he's going to most likely have a chance

03:58to win one if not more of the next three majors this season
