00:00As we're trying to finish this episode, I keep on giving him one more thing.
00:02Can you give me your big sleeper?
00:05Big sleeper.
00:06All right.
00:06Okay.
00:07I'll give you mine while you look at it.
00:09Okay.
00:09I really like Jason Day this week.
00:12Love Jason Day.
00:14He contended last year.
00:16This place is tailor-made for him, man.
00:18He's such a good pitcher.
00:19When you go watch him in person to play, he surprises you how high he hits his irons.
00:26And he's played well at Augusta.
00:29And especially at this point in his career, you think like, man, I can't believe Jason Day hasn't won here.
00:34He's so close to winning here, especially in that pop years in 2015, man, where you just felt like he
00:40was undoubtedly the best player in the world.
00:43And this place is tailor-made for him.
00:45It just fits his game.
00:46I think other players would agree with me is that he would be a guy, especially as he gets kind
00:52of later in the years, the Sergio when he was kind of getting into this mid-tier age.
00:57Like, Jason Day is the type of player that can be one of the older players to win here.
01:03I'm also very intrigued to see what they allow him to wear this week.
01:05We saw him in like a head-to-toe, like, bird rain suit.
01:09I can't wait.
01:09He's going to –
01:10Okay, all right.
01:12Imagine Jason Day coming out of the locker room, making the walk down to the 18th green for the crowning,
01:17and he switches to like a sweatsuit.
01:20Just a cashmere sweatsuit.
01:23They're like, sir, do you make that green jacket and cashmere?
01:28A cashmere cardigan?
01:29A light blue sweatpants, light blue hoodie with just the jawstrings on both.
01:37Oh, man.
01:37Come on.
01:38So, okay, so I don't know if mine necessarily qualifies – he's sleeper-ish.
01:43We haven't talked about him yet, so I think there's something with him.
01:45Jake Knapp.
01:47I think Jake Knapp – I think here's a guy who is – he's putting it so good this year
01:53and likes to kind of turn the ball right to left.
01:56You know, he's – I think he's like 10th in the FedEx Cup stance.
01:59He's had a good resume of work throughout, like consistent, in-form, long, right?
02:05And so I think it really just comes down to –
02:07The driver putter's good, man.
02:09Driver putter's good.
02:10Just how's his iron play look this week?
02:12And if he misses some greens, you know, what's his short game look like?
02:16But Jake, like if those two things are in place, I'm not worried about the driver.
02:19I'm not worried about the putter.
02:20I'm surprised at stuff.
02:21He probably would have clicked a lot of those trend stats or whatever.
02:26He's definitely going to be –
02:27Didn't play your last year.
02:28Yeah, he's –
02:29He has the best scoring average on the PGA Tour actual, and then he also has the best scoring average
02:35adjusted.
02:36So when we talk about adjusted, that's how – you know, like a rated golf course, like how difficult the
02:41course is and what you shot.
02:42He is the best in both.
02:43So technically, he is – has been the best in-form player.
02:48So gosh, we just won a full episode, talked 20-plus names.
02:51It didn't even get to Jake Knapp.
02:53So yeah, I'm going to give you that as a sleeper category.
02:55Yes, good.
02:56Okay, so what shocked me when I was digging into his stuff is that he – from 10 to 15
03:02feet and 15 to 20 feet, he has been unbelievable.
03:06He's been like 30 to 40 percent.
03:08So when you talk about like the best three-point shooters and what their statistics are, like Knappel for the
03:15Hornets this year, what he's averaging like 45 percent from three.
03:19Look at basketball SK over here.
03:20Knappel is like – he's doing similar type numbers, like Jordan Spieth type numbers from that mid-tier range.
03:27So you're going to have a lot of those looks this week if he stays hot there with the putter.
03:31And – because I definitely agree with you.
03:33I don't know if the iron game is going to be good enough.
03:35But the length is definitely going to be such an advantage for him.
03:39And if – but kind of working back into that point, if – you know, let's say he misses greens.
03:44You know, let's say the iron plays not all the way on and, okay, you're wedging up there as best
03:49you can, but you're still leaving yourself 10 to 15 feet.
03:51The putter is hot and you're saving pars or you're hitting greens, you're making birdies.
03:55That's a great formula.
03:56Yeah, I just – I worry about Master's experience, you know.
03:59Yeah.
03:59I think he'll be much more prepared this go-around than he was two years ago.
04:02But I think there's so much to learn about this place and has he learned enough?
