02:23and lots of love and i wanted to share that with people it was beautiful the farm was the perfect
02:35place for all of those things to come together

02:52which is why after years away i've finally returned
02:59i've moved back here with the girls we have two dogs three kittens and we're finally settled
03:05i didn't want to live at the farm during the divorce because it was hard to be so close to
03:11barry knowing that if i had to go run errands i might see him but now the divorce is done

04:17when ken moved in we wanted it to feel like it's his home too and so we let him decorate

16:24there were a few factors that led to things just being tense
16:28part of it was them rushing the wedding and us not really knowing zach well enough
16:34i didn't want to sit around and just let somebody walk into my family that wasn't going to
16:38treat my sister right because i've seen that happen
16:41before with my brother's ancestors and
16:44i've had it and i wasn't going to have it again

20:07time because the whole family's in town pretty last minute but we just wanted to address um stuff
20:13around our wedding we had some pretty surprising things come our way when ethan asked if i was gay
20:21it was just very it didn't make sense i had proposed and you're asking if i'm even attracted to her

20:27this is ridiculous i wanted to bring it to their attention that you know what they did
20:36did hurt us and you know they could have gone about it quite differently
20:43when we were engaged i know there was a lot of people talking about zach and i and their concerns
20:49about us they said they were doing everything because they care in that care all i felt was hurt
20:57well i want you to know i want you to be happy and i'm very happy to see that you're

21:01but i just have to say it you only know them for three months and you get married in two

22:37expectations anything that was said or done before the wedding was coming from a place of love and
22:43concern about lydia we were concerned about her because there are crazy people out there and it's
22:47sad that you have to question everything but you really do yeah and with that timeline it's completely
22:54normal for us to have questions i mean just you know all of us have moved on moved forward and
23:03accepted zach as a brother-in-law a son-in-law whatever as part of the family including ethan and
23:10isaac and micah but i feel like zach and lydia haven't been able to move on
23:19i've been angry i've been really upset at my family for what they did
23:24there were nights on end that i would fall asleep crying and zach was just there to come for me
23:29because
23:29i was just hurt and i was just upset it took us a while to kind of approach this conversation

23:36were frustrated we were scared of maybe not being accepted or loved dealing with all of that at once
23:46took a long time i also wanted to be able to talk knowing what i wanted to say and not
23:53just getting
23:54all emotional and not having a direction it took eight months i'm not ashamed of that
24:03i've really been wrestling with it a lot what i would say how how i would say it
24:12i think some of the things they said just made me realize like
24:17they don't really know me and that hurts because you want to be known by your family
24:26i don't know if it's just me or if most of the family feels this way if it's just the
24:31middle child
24:31but i've always felt like overlooked second thought and i just felt that on my wedding day and that's just
24:40not what it's supposed to be i know i need this to move forward and whatever happens from it i

24:49to be okay with that i just know this is the step i need to take
25:03what are some things that you might want to address with your mom i mean definitely with what she had
25:08said about you being controlling i have no idea how this family meeting is gonna go i need to address
25:19with mom just how she went about a few things like she pretty much accused zach of being controlling
25:24and taking over desires i wanted for the wedding yet she didn't even know what i had thought of
25:31i've seen um a usurping of lydia's desires where lydia wants something for the wedding and he just
25:39shoots it down because he has another plan in mind she said i wanted hunter green for my wedding which
25:43is a color i would never think of blue has always been both our favorite colors it's blue touching that
25:50and i gave my opinion but then said after i was like you know i i think blue looks best
25:56but i want
25:57you to make the decision because you're the bride and you know i think you know you have a better
26:04eye for
26:05those sorts of things and so i if anything i was completely letting her make the decision it was just

30:30i'm more of a quiet person i've heard both sides of the story i would rather be in the house

31:52because of everyone except barry because of how things played out at their wedding

32:43it was quick when we got married and i know that did kind of pressure you guys to

32:56any way but with that like some people chose to get to know him and some people just made their
33:05judgments and and that was that i know you guys care it would be amazing
33:16if there was a way to show that care especially to zach
33:21and some of you have done really well at that but if you do approve if you do see that

33:28it would be nice to see that effort a little bit
33:34um so
33:36if there are any concerns that still are lasting now um or any questions that you guys have in general

33:44i'm also open to those conversations i don't have a lot of pain from what they did to me
33:51it's more that they would do it to me and that they're hurting her in the process that hurt me

36:04there's been obviously tension there was a lot of tension between my brothers
36:08some me we do need to make sure he's the one for lydia he needs a test to see his

36:15i say we just let it happen today and now we just try to give him
36:20i was so wrapped up in a lot it's not an excuse i should have
36:25been there for you even more than i was you still dance with me i know i did and that
36:32means a lot
36:35i can only imagine how difficult that was for lydia and zach zach especially
36:41you know hindsight i'm like zach you're a great guy you two seem fit for each other but when you're
36:47you know i meet you two hours before you propose to my sister yeah there's a lot of stuff that
36:54goes on
36:55for sure um yeah i mean you know people do act different under pressure and that's mainly what
37:01i was feeling was a lot of pressure with it being rushed and then seeing you know past relationships
37:07people have come into the family really fast and just turned out bad and that's the only thing that
37:12was stuck in my head looking back i see that i certain times i acted you know like an idiot
37:21um i'm gonna apologize to both of you for certain things that i've done it may have been good
37:26intentions or thought it was good but just went about a completely wrong way that's all i see from
37:32my end so appreciate it you know you both were saying if we still have things or whatever i don't
37:40have
37:40i don't think any of us do for me from the time that you two said i do it was
37:44done and i'm a hundred
37:46percent supportive of both of you and i see you as a son son-in-law part of the family
37:56so far i'm seeing more healing with micah and isaac than there is with kim i think there's a
38:02conversation that just needs to happen between lydia and kim there's a lot there to unpack it goes
38:11deeper than the wedding it goes into the realm of when the divorce happened and things like that
38:17there's there's healing that's needed there i think relationally between those two
38:22all the concerns that everyone voiced whether to you or in private you whether you go about it in
38:30the proper way or the wrong way there is a time for that and that time has passed you guys
38:35are both
38:35part of the family now and i'm very happy to see you both doing well i'm sorry anything that i
38:44did
38:44you know hurt you which i know it did so i apologize for that yep before their wedding i was
38:53just
38:54saying what i saw and what i felt just like isaac and micah we were just encouraging lydia to not
39:04rush into something especially with not knowing really what their physical attraction is i think
39:10there's nothing wrong with checking yourself and being like do you see what i see or am i just
39:14delusional you know but i certainly could have been nicer you know gone about things maybe in a
39:22better way it's it's awesome to have you back here being able to have more time with you because it's
39:30a lot closer than minnesota so it's encouraging to hear ethan apologize he definitely had quite a
39:37big piece in just the pain and hurt caused i wouldn't call it water under the bridge i would
39:44just call it forgiveness of just him owning up to the things he did wrong i mean this could be
39:52clear
39:53the end and dad i don't know if i've said it enough but thank you so much for all your

40:32could have exported that to everyone well i just had a piece from the beginning and i supported him
