00:00As we sit here now, I'd be stunned if Carnell Tate wasn't the first wide receiver off the board when
00:07we get to late April.
00:08Yeah, I agree with you.
00:09I don't see any way Tyson or Lemmon could eclipse them.
00:14I just can't.
00:15Tyson and Lemmon, I think, are going to be great pros.
00:18Now, Jordan Tyson, to your point, has dealt with the injury issues.
00:22A couple of years ago, stepped up, dynamic catches, big body, the ability to catch the football at its highest
00:29point.
00:30And I think Lemmon potentially is the best pure route runner, much like St. Brown that played at USC as
00:37well for Detroit.
00:38But the best overall wide receiver, the ability to take a game over is Carnell Tate.
00:43And again, we keep going back to this.
00:45It's like, you know, LSU wide receivers, Ohio State wide receivers, the lineage and the school matters, right?
00:52Especially in this type of situation.
00:54And the book is still out on Marvin Harrison Jr., whether he can live up to expectations or not, Kevin.
01:00But, you know, just go through the list.
01:01And look at Abuka last year.
01:03I mean, you know, prior to, you know, Evans getting hurt last year, he was the number one go-to
01:10guy for Tampa Bay.
01:11Hit the ground running.
01:12He just tailed off when Evans and Godwin got back into the, you know, lineup.
01:17So, just think of the pedigree.
01:19Michael Thomas, Olave, I mean, you know, Garrett Wilson, JSN.
01:25I mean, we could go on and on about the great Ohio State wide receivers.
01:28And we've seen them do it in the Big Ten, in the big matchup.
01:32So, there's no doubt to me that if I am in need of a wide receiver, Tennessee, I'm going after
01:40Carnell Tate and nobody else.
01:43So, and that's, you know, one of the reasons I wanted to bring this up because Joe's been pretty steadfast
01:48in, you know, Carnell Tate and what he can bring to the table.
01:54I am kind of getting there myself on the idea of Carnell Tate.
02:01First of all, just the price around wide receivers is just getting more and more and more expensive, right?
02:08You know, we just saw JSN reset the market.
02:10So, it is in an organization's interest to draft wide receiver high, right?
02:17I think we're maybe a test, you know, quarterback and edge rusher, still maybe offensive tackle.
02:23But, I mean, wide receiver is right there.
02:25Really is.
02:26You could argue probably wide receiver should go in front of offensive tackles from a financial standpoint of it here.
02:31Carnell Tate, when I think back to this Ohio State season, Joe, he did feel like a touchdown machine.
02:40And I know he only had nine, but he didn't play every single game.
02:44And it was only on 51 grabs.
02:47And there were a few times, understandably, where saying was just, I'm just going to throw to Jeremiah.
02:52I'm just going to throw to Jeremiah.
02:55But I don't think Tate is some product of, oh, there were four guys on Jeremiah Smith.
03:00He was wide open.
03:01He got open, right?
03:03But he also had some great contested catches.
03:05He had some big performances.
03:07The Penn State, five for 124 and a touchdown, stands out.
03:10He's the one who scored against Texas, right?
03:14Some of those big games, Jeremiah Smith didn't necessarily do a ton.
03:17But, you know, you're not supposed to say that.
03:19That's a conversation for next year, I think.
03:22And I now feel that Jeremiah Smith, so this number's come out, over under draft position.
03:32And the number's seven and a half.
03:36I'm starting to think that Cornell Tate should be a lock-top seven pick, specifically with eyes on Tennessee and
03:46Cleveland, as you've mentioned.
03:48You know what I think of Jeremiah Love.
03:51A running back at four over Cornell Tate, Joe?
03:54I don't think that's the right move for the Titans.
03:56And for the Browns, I know everybody wants them to draft offensive line, but this isn't a superstar O-line
04:04class, and Cornell Tate could be a superstar wide receiver.
04:07And I think the needs are equal.
04:09I think four and six are really live for Cornell Tate.
04:12Yeah, and he's a local kid.
04:14I mean, if you're going to draft the Ohio State Buckeye, you would want him in Cleveland, right?
04:19I'm just saying, like, that's the whole point.
04:22And, you know, seven and a half, if he somehow slips to eight or above, Kevin, that would be a
04:30travesty.
04:31If you're Tennessee, and you have Tony Pollard already and Tajay Spears, there is no need to draft Jeremiah Love.
04:39There is no need to have a second-year guy in Cam Ward that you don't even know if he's
04:48the quarterback of the future yet.
04:50You think he is, but how can you make that assessment when you have pedestrian, garbage wide receivers around them?
04:58I just don't—again, we're doing this dance, and look at the elevation of Jalen Hurts when he was surrounded by
05:05A.J. Brown and Devontae Smith.
05:07Look at Trevor Lawrence when Brian—and I know Brian Thomas had an off year, but when they put talent around
05:14him.
05:14I'm just saying that's the only way you could make an assessment.
