00:00Well, after six years, that is one hell of a greeting.
00:03Welcome to Mojo Plays, and today we're looking at the hardest items to unlock in the Resident Evil series.
00:10Guess I gotta squash you.
00:15But before we dive in, we publish new content all week long.
00:19So be sure to subscribe and ring the bell to get notified about our latest videos.
00:25Chicago Typewriter, Resident Evil 4.
00:32We'll start with a light one, but one that still takes quite a bit of time and effort to unlock.
00:38The Chicago Typewriter, which is just a great name for a Tommy Gun, by the way, can only be unlocked
00:43on a second playthrough of RE4.
00:45Your first playthrough can be on any difficulty, which unlocks Ada's mini-campaign.
00:50And after you beat that, the weapon will be available to purchase from the merchant's shop for a million pesetas,
00:57which is understandably a hefty sum.
00:59In the remake, where it's given the slightly less cool name of Chicago Sweeper, things are a bit harder.
01:05You get it after securing at least an A rank in Professional Mode, the hardest difficulty that's only unlocked after
01:11you've beaten the game once.
01:13Infinite Rocket Launcher, Resident Evil 5.
01:22Be prepared to see more than a few infinite rocket launchers, as they're typically one of the hardest weapons to
01:28unlock across the series.
01:29It makes sense.
01:30The option of unlimited explosions hurled directly into hordes is the type of power that should be locked behind a
01:37hard challenge.
01:38Getting it in the fifth game is certainly easier than others, but it still takes some work.
01:42You have to beat the game in under five hours, which can be done on any difficulty.
01:47But making sure you're moving quickly enough through levels, defeating enemies, and solving puzzles, is going to take at least
01:53a couple of playthroughs to get right.
02:18The seventh game does a great job at making you feel powerless, even more so than some of the older
02:23entries.
02:24However, you'll feel the exact opposite if you get your hands on the circular saw, which can shred just about
02:30any enemy standing in your way.
02:32To earn this bad boy, you have to beat the game in less than four hours.
02:36It's another one that can be done on any difficulty setting, like RE5's Infinite Rocket Launcher.
02:41That still means you have to move extremely quickly, though.
02:44Which also means you'll likely need a couple of playthroughs under your belt before you can get it.
02:53Infinite Rocket Launcher Resident Evil Requiem
03:03To unlock most of the Infinite Rocket Launchers across the series, it usually takes beating the game in a certain
03:09amount of time.
03:10That's not the case in the newest entry, Requiem.
03:13How long it takes is up to you.
03:15To unlock the RPG 7, it'll cost 15,000 CP, or challenge points, which you earn for completing certain tasks
03:24throughout the game.
03:25It's unlikely you'll earn that much on a single playthrough, especially a first one.
03:30Even still, it doesn't come with infinite ammo.
03:33In order to give it that handy little feature, you have to spend an additional 35,000 CP, totaling 50
03:40,000, which is obviously the part that makes this harder.
03:43Oh, I miss our Raccoon City Hospitality.
03:46Linear Launcher Resident Evil Code Veronica
03:58Although different from the many infinite rocket launchers, this weapon's power levels are frankly absurd.
04:05Essentially, it fires a giant electric orb that eviscerates any enemy it comes into contact with.
04:12Because of this, you can only use it in Battle Game, a collection of five combat scenarios, each with different
04:18playable characters.
04:19This is also how you unlock it.
04:22Battle Game only appears after you've beaten the campaign.
04:25You have to secure at least an A rank with each character, the hardest of which is Wesker, who only
04:30starts with a knife and a handful of herbs.
04:34Infinite Ammo
04:35Resident Evil Requiem
04:46Similar to the game's infinite rocket launcher, you don't have to complete some taxing challenge to unlock infinite ammo for
04:53the rest of the weapons in Requiem.
04:55At least, you don't have to complete a specific challenge, you have a few to choose from.
05:00Its difficulty, of course, lies in how many challenge points you'll need.
05:0550,000, the same as the infinite rocket launcher.
05:08There are some high-value challenges to aim for, but they're understandably the hardest things to do in the game.
05:14Things like completing the game on Insanity difficulty, completing it under four hours, or without using med injectors or herbs.
05:23The gift of unlimited ammunition is pretty nice, though.
05:28It must be time for the evening service.
05:30Cat Ears
05:31Resident Evil 4
05:33Why did you come to this horrible place?
05:36As close to nowhere that I've ever seen.
05:39Let's just say, looking for someone.
05:42Who wouldn't want to see Leon sport a pair of cat ears like a typical E-girl?
05:47It just adds more comedy to an already absurd campaign.
05:51But if you really want to experience this for yourself, you will need to beat the main campaign on professional
05:57difficulty and earn an S-plus rank.
06:00This time, that means beating the game in under five and a half hours, and you're limited to using 15
06:06saves.
06:07Honestly, the best way to go about doing this is to nail almost every skip in the game, and maybe
06:12carry one of the unlockable weapons to make combat easier.
06:15Obviously, this is a challenge meant for another playthrough after you've unlocked your preferred weaponry.
06:21Just make sure you do it under New Game, not New Game Plus.
06:25Something's happened to the people here.
06:27My escorts are...
06:33Gotta go. Talk later.
06:35Minigun and ATM4
06:38Resident Evil 2
06:48Yes, technically these are two items, but we're grouping them together since you unlock them in similar ways, more or
06:54less.
06:55To unlock the minigun, you have to beat one of Claire's scenarios on Hardcore and achieve an S-plus rank.
07:01To unlock the ATM4 rocket launcher, you have to beat one of Leon's scenarios, following the same rules.
07:07Both weapons have infinite ammo and can be used by either character on any difficulty, once you unlock them.
07:14Unfortunately, Hardcore is naturally the hardest difficulty, and to get an S-plus rank, there's a list of criteria you
07:22must reach.
07:23You can't use any other infinite ammo weapons other than the infinite knife, you can only save three times,
07:29and you must beat one character's first scenario in under two and a half hours, and the other character's second
07:36scenario in under two hours.
07:44Infinite Rocket Launcher
07:46Resident Evil Code Veronica
07:48Code Veronica has some pretty tough challenges, and earning this game's infinite rocket launcher is probably its hardest.
07:55Once again, you must complete the game in a certain amount of time, under four and a half hours,
08:00and reach a certain rank upon completion, an A this time.
08:04While that might not sound as intimidating on paper as an S-plus rank, reaching it is... demanding.
08:10First, the timer doesn't stop during cutscenes, which must have felt unnecessarily unfair to discover back in the day.
08:18You can, of course, skip them, but then there's everything else.
08:21You can only heal with herbs and no first aid sprays, and you can't save your progress outside of a
08:28single save
08:29the game asks you to make after a certain boss fight.
08:33So, if you die, you'll likely lose a ton of progress.
08:38RPD Outfit
08:39Resident Evil 4
08:48When the RE4 remake received the Separate Ways DLC, Capcom also added in Leon's classic RPD uniform.
08:55Only, players weren't simply given access to it as a nice freebie, you had to work for it.
09:01To unlock it, you have to earn at least an S-plus rank in the Mercenaries mode,
09:05with every playable character, of which there are 8, on every playable map, of which there are 4.
09:11Since the mode is all about killing as many enemies as you can in a set time limit,
09:16you have to move with remarkable speed and precision,
09:19which naturally takes quite a bit of time to perfect in order to reach such a high ranking, a total
09:25of 32 times.
09:27Infinite Ammo
09:28Resident Evil 7
09:37In addition to specific weapons with infinite ammo,
09:41several games have also included infinite ammo in general as an unlockable.
09:45It's always nice to have when you're just trying to blast through a game with reckless abandon.
09:49Those who really want this little cheat for RE7 will have to endure the game under the hardest difficulty,
09:55Madhouse.
09:56This setting doesn't just buff enemies in strength and health, no.
10:00Madhouse also features a complete rearrangement of where items are located
10:04and which enemies spawn in certain areas.
10:08On top of that, you'll need to locate cassette tapes if you wish to save your game,
10:12just as the original Resident Evil games required you to use ink ribbons.
10:22Infinite Rocket Launcher Resident Evil 3
10:34We hope you aren't tired of hearing about them yet because we still have a couple of infinite rocket launchers
10:39to go.
10:39The thing about the one featured in RE3's remake is that it is probably the most expensive unlockable in the
10:45franchise's history.
10:47Better save up the currency you get from completing challenges because you will need a whopping 624 points.
10:53Even if you try to blast through the challenges and do several playthroughs,
10:57this might wind up being the last thing you unlock in the game.
11:00That is, if you don't pony up real money to Capcom just so you have instant access to it.
11:12Infinite Rocket Launcher Resident Evil 2
11:24With its tank controls and limited number of ink ribbons to let you save,
11:29more casual players may find RE2 to be more difficult than its 2019 remake.
11:33The one weapon that breaks the original game is, of course, the Infinite Rocket Launcher.
11:38Blow any enemy back to hell with as many rockets as the weapon's fire rate will allow.
11:43To obtain this, you're going to have to employ some speedrun tactics and try to beat Leon A or Leon
11:49B scenarios in under two and a half hours.
11:52And achieve an A rank at minimum.
11:54Hope you're used to PS1 controls.
12:03Cat Ears
12:04Cat Ears
12:04Cat Ears
12:04Cat Ears
12:05Cat Ears
12:05Much like the RE4 remake that would come later, there's an absurdly hard set of Cat Ears to unlock in
12:11the remake of RE2.
12:13But obtaining this pair is definitely a test of endurance and calculations.
12:17See, you'll have to commit quite a bit of practice time to the No Way Out mode.
12:23The mode that was added as part of the Ghost Survivors DLC where you play as the sheriff from the
12:27prologue and go against hordes of zombies.
12:30To unlock the Cat Ears, you will have to beat this mode firing off no more than 60 handgun bullets.
12:36And trust us, this is way easier said than done.
12:40Assault Rifle
12:40Resident Evil 3 Nemesis
12:50A unique aspect of Nemesis in RE3 is that it is possible to defeat him during your encounters, even if
12:57it feels like you can't.
12:58If you manage to do so, you will be rewarded with pretty powerful items.
13:02However, you can only defeat him in seven separate encounters within a single playthrough.
13:07If you're gunning to unlock the Assault Rifle, you'll have to find a way to defeat him all seven times
13:11within a single playthrough.
13:13Not only that, it has to be done on your first playthrough.
13:16No new game pluses or bonus weapons to help you.
13:27Unlockable costumes
13:29Resident Evil 5
13:38Re5 features a decent handful of costumes for Chris and Sheva to unlock.
13:43Unfortunately, getting even one or two of these requires some collectible hunting.
13:47Those collectibles being the BSAA emblems.
13:50These are scattered across every single mission in the game in areas that can sometimes cause you to stray fairly
13:56far from the main path.
13:57Others will be found in annoying corners or distant spots.
14:01Of course, you can always just pull up a guide and find all the emblems that way.
14:06But if you want to challenge yourself, be prepared for several playthroughs.
14:16LZ Answerer
14:17Resident Evil Village
14:27So, here's the thing about the LZ Answerer.
14:30This was initially a pretty tough unlockable to get because you have to earn at least an SS rank on
14:36all eight stages included in Mercenaries mode.
14:39Doing this with Ethan required very specific pathing and maintaining a perfect combo from start to finish.
14:45However, this was made easier once Capcom added Lady Dimitrescu, Heisenberg, and Chris in a post-launch update.
14:53Even with these new, somewhat overpowered characters, the LZ Answerer is still the hardest item to unlock in Village.
15:07Infinite Ammo
15:08Resident Evil 3 Nemesis
15:17To unlock Infinite Ammo in the original Resident Evil 3, you can spend $9,999 in the Mercenaries mode or,
15:25for the story, you basically do the same things you do to get the Assault Rifle.
15:30Only this time, instead of defeating Nemesis during the seven encounters on a regular playthrough, you must do so on
15:36Hard Mode, which obviously makes it harder.
15:39You can try to use some unlockable weapons to make it easier, since you'll have access to more firepower, but
15:45Hard Mode is still Hard Mode, and Nemesis still hits like a truck.
15:49Only after the seventh defeat will Nemesis drop Infinite Ammo, which can only be used on a single weapon anyway.
15:59Katana
15:59Resident Evil Revelations 2
16:10Revelations 2 is packed to the brim with all kinds of unlockables.
16:14It kinda gives the game a decent amount of replay value.
16:17Unfortunately, the hardest unlockable you'll have to go for is the Katana, which requires you to beat every single episode
16:23under Invisible Mode.
16:24What is Invisible Mode?
16:26Well, it's exactly what it sounds like, where every enemy in the game becomes totally invisible.
16:31You can reveal them briefly if you manage to hit them with Moira's flashlight, a smoke grenade, or Natalia's pointing
16:38skill.
16:38Obviously, you can't rely on those under most situations, so better identify those moments when you can avoid combat and
16:46book it for the next area.
16:52Hand Cannon
16:53Resident Evil 4
17:04The original Resident Evil 4 already has some crazy powerful, crazy broken weapons that you can unlock.
17:10Of them all, if you truly want to feel ultimate power in your hand, the hand cannon is what you
17:15seek.
17:16Should you try to unlock this one, be prepared for the most grueling challenge in Resident Evil history,
17:21not counting and doing Umbrella Corp.
17:23You will have to achieve an S rank on every single stage in Mercenaries Mode as every single character.
17:30Good luck.
17:31And if you thought RE4's remake might have made things easier, well, it depends.
17:35Getting the hand cannon will require you to beat RE4 Remake on the highest difficulty without any bonus weapons,
17:42or get S rank on Castle, Village, and Island in Mercenaries Mode.
17:46Take your pick.
17:53What's the hardest you've ever worked to unlock one of these Resident Evil items?
17:57Share your thoughts in the comments, and we will see you next time.
