00:09Welcome to MojoPlays, and today we're taking a look at the 10 hardest hard modes in Resident Evil history.
00:26Before we begin, we publish new videos all week long.
00:29So be sure to subscribe to MojoPlays, and ring the bell to be notified about our latest videos.
00:35Resident Evil
00:43For the most part, the HD remaster of Resident Evil is relatively easier than the other games.
00:49That isn't to say its harder difficulties are a joke, though.
00:52The pressure increases tenfold when you're playing under real survival difficulty.
00:57Under this, auto-aim is completely disabled, so you'll have to be precise in your positioning as well as your
01:04shooting.
01:14Not only that, but item boxes are no longer connected, meaning you will have to remember where you stored which
01:21items.
01:21But this isn't the only obscene difficulty you can tackle. Think you can get through a mode where every enemy
01:27in the game is invisible?
01:35Resident Evil 5
01:37Resident Evil 5
01:45The professional difficulty in RE5 comes with a plethora of changes when it comes to which items are spawned where
01:51and from what.
01:52Enemies will only drop ammo or money, and not health items.
01:56Plus, enemies take way more damage and inflict way more damage.
02:01But that's not what you will have to worry about.
02:08Remember, this is RE5, and in this game, the AI version of Sheva is a complete idiot.
02:15So, you are more than likely to tear your hair out at some point.
02:20Likely when you get to the section with the slates in Chapter 4 2.
02:28Resident Evil 2
02:35Just about each and every port that came after the PS1 version had a higher difficulty setting than what Sony
02:41fans got.
02:42For example, Dreamcast and Windows PC owners got even more oppressive difficulty settings, known appropriately as Nightmare and Expert respectively.
02:52But arguably, those who played the Nintendo 64 version got the most challenging version possible.
03:03The N64 version featured an exclusive random mode that mixed the placement of items.
03:10You could be loaded with ammo, yet hurting for herbs for the first hour or two, or vice versa.
03:16You'll never know what your run will look until you start it.
03:25Resident Evil 6
03:35If, for whatever reason, you feel like suffering through RE6 under more stressful conditions, there is a higher difficulty for
03:43you to tackle.
03:44And it's far worse than your standard professional setting.
03:47No hope has haunted many RE6 players for its insanely restricting modifiers.
04:02For starters, all enemies deal at least two and a half bars worth of damage and can put you at
04:09the brink of death should you fail a simple quick time event.
04:13To make matters worse, skills are disabled for the entire playthrough.
04:17And checkpoints will respawn you at the same health state you were at before dying.
04:22It is literal hell.
04:33Resident Evil 0
04:35RE0 is already challenging on account of you having to juggle two separate characters to navigate different areas.
04:43Sure, you now have two characters with their own inventory slots giving you plenty of room to manage items.
04:48However, ammo becomes a rarity when playing on hard and you'll want to save as many bullets as possible.
04:55Just keep in mind that Rebecca and Billy have fewer slots each than what you'd be used to in other
05:01games.
05:01So, be prepared to juggle and move stuff around quite a bit.
05:05Resident Evil 3 Remake
05:19The remake for RE3 is already a hard game to love for a variety of reasons,
05:24but the dreaded Inferno difficulty has caused many to forever denounce the game.
05:29Obviously, if you're using unlockable weapons like the infinite rocket launcher and the hot dogger,
05:34you'll get through almost the entire game no problem.
05:37The real issue is Nemesis himself at the very end of the game.
05:47Hope you've nailed dodging because his attacks have almost perfect accuracy,
05:52and he refuses to give you a moment to breathe even when you shoot all of his boils.
05:57It's really odd how everything else in the game beforehand is fine,
06:00but this, this is where you have to really want the achievement here.
06:10Resident Evil Village
06:12Village may not feel as oppressive as RE3's Inferno difficulty,
06:23but its Village of Shadows difficulty will test your shooting skills throughout the playthrough.
06:27In addition to buffing enemies with more health and better attack power,
06:31this setting is where the game mixes things up by throwing enemies into different spots.
06:44You may even find some tougher enemies appearing earlier than they did before.
06:49Sure, you'll get a ton of money out of taking every one of them down,
06:52but don't be surprised if you start hurting for bullets a lot more frequently.
07:02Resident Evil Revelations
07:12Just when 3DS players thought Hell difficulty was one of the hardest playthroughs to endure,
07:17the console ports introduced their own Infernal difficulty.
07:21And it broke a lot of folks.
07:24This is where ammo on its own became incredibly scarce,
07:27more than it has in other games before and after Revelations.
07:31Instead, you'll have to look for ammo bags and pray they'll give you enough of each weapon
07:36to make it through the next portion of the game.
07:43To make matters worse, a lot of the late game enemies get introduced far, far earlier than ever before.
07:50You better be on the lookout for those P90 parts or else you're going to be in a panic for
07:55almost the entire run.
08:04Resident Evil 7 Biohazard
08:08Resident Evil 7 Biohazard
08:25Whereas the other difficulties maintain an experience typical of Resident Evil,
08:30Madhouse scrambles things up by locking key items behind currency,
08:35antique coins to be precise.
08:37Plus, all enemies will use their insta-kill attacks much more frequently.
08:47And the real kicker to all this, scripted events are altered a bit in their item spawns.
08:53So getting through those will not always net you the same things you need to progress.
08:58You're just going to have to explore some more before you can proceed as normal, each and every time.
09:10And lastly, Resident Evil Requiem
09:20The insanity difficulty in Requiem may be the toughest run you will ever attempt out of any Resident Evil game
09:27in the entire franchise.
09:29This is where you really have to conserve every bullet you can get for the Requiem as it's going to
09:36have to be your last resort.
09:38Under this difficulty setting, enemies can put you at death's door with just a single bite.
09:43Two if you have upgraded health.
09:53Players have reported struggling under this mode despite having the infinite rocket launcher.
09:59So no matter what you've come equipped with for the post-game weaponry, be prepared to sweat your ass off.
