00:00You don't want to do this, Freeze.
00:02Oh, I believe I do.
00:06Welcome to Mojo Plays, and today we're taking a look at the 10 games that have the best
00:11stealth mechanics.
00:20Before we begin, we publish new videos all week long, so be sure to subscribe to Mojo
00:24Plays and ring the bell to be notified about our latest videos.
00:30Batman Arkham Series
00:39This was honestly the first set of games we thought of when putting this list together.
00:44Truly, the Batman Arkham games excel in providing fun, stealth-based gameplay.
00:49In between the brawls with gangs of henchmen, there are times where you will have to be
00:53extra sneaky and take down baddies from the shadows, but you can't rely on the same exact
00:58moves all the time.
01:00There will be moments where the enemy will catch on to what you're doing and will begin
01:03taking countermeasures.
01:05So, you will have to adapt quickly in order to instill fear.
01:10Ghost of Yotei
01:19We know that most first-party Sony games are getting flack these days over reusing the
01:24same mechanic that's been dubbed as Sony Grass, but the ways you sneak around aren't
01:29why Ghost of Yotei is fun with its stealth.
01:32No, it's the challenge and the methods available to you.
01:35You have to stay on high alert and make sure your target is isolated before you take them
01:40out.
01:40The enemy can be fairly observant from afar, and anything strange will cause them to start
01:45poking around the tall grass.
01:47But if you can remain undetected, you can utilize some pretty sick takedowns.
01:52My personal favorite is downing some sake and throwing the jar at somebody to summon the
01:57wolf on them.
01:58It gets funnier every single time.
02:10Dishonored
02:18We want to recognize Dishonored for pretty much the same reason we recognize Ghost of
02:22Yotei.
02:23Granted, the stealth mechanics are super refined and take us back to the good old days of
02:27classic thief.
02:28However, the real entertainment is in how you dispatch foes.
02:32Have you ever seen a group of guards panic after seeing a swarm of ravenous rats appear
02:38out of nowhere?
02:40Or seen a blast of wind knock somebody unconscious?
02:44You can get nutty with the ways you take down enemies here.
02:46And yes, Dishonored 2 gets even crazier with the powers.
02:50Deus Ex
02:51Your appointment to FEMA should be finalized within the week.
02:55I have already discussed the matter with the senator.
02:58Deus Ex remains one of the most innovative games ever made thanks to its intricate and
03:02malleable RPG mechanics.
03:04You can easily find different guides on certain builds online, many of them tailored to helping
03:09you develop the perfect stealth build.
03:11There are a wealth of different weapons and augments that can turn JC into a silent killer.
03:17Augments that let you jump high.
03:18Augments that let you perform multiple takedowns.
03:21And even augments that make your footsteps completely silent.
03:26Deus Ex is a game that, when played right, can make you feel like an unstoppable force lurking
03:32in the shadows.
03:33And speaking of shadows, Assassin's Creed Shadows.
03:42Though not every Assassin's Creed game focuses primarily on stealth gameplay, Shadows does an
03:48excellent job at rewarding players for being sneaky.
03:51This is a game that is going to turn you into a cold-blooded ninja, loaded with all kinds
03:56of tools and techniques that'll let you kill guards quickly and quietly.
04:00Once you've gotten yourself enough materials and skills, you'll start blazing through fortresses
04:05and turning them into ghost towns.
04:08Trust us, this is one of the better Assassin's Creed games we've seen in a long time.
04:13It's supposed to have you in a sense.
04:17Three of the corrupt daikon are dead.
04:19All right here!
04:20Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, Chaos Theory.
04:32We'd be remiss to talk about games with great stealth mechanics and not talk about Splinter Cell in some way.
04:38Of course, the best game in the entire series is none other than Chaos Theory.
04:43This was where the series was the best at executing stealth-based gameplay as the UI gave you all the
04:50necessary information you needed to carry out missions.
04:53Not only that, but the AI was super smart in how it utilized parts of the environment to keep enemies
04:59safe, secure, and just as deadly as Sam Fisher.
05:03This was a game that demanded you be tactical in your approach.
05:06In Ubisoft, they just don't make games like this anymore.
05:10Tell me where Nettich is or we'll find out.
05:14In the Central Palace, I think.
05:16He's meeting with some of the senior officers.
05:19Thanks.
05:20The Sniper Elite Series.
05:23Need to make sure those men didn't die in vain.
05:27Speaking of games that require tactics, it may seem odd to recognize Sniper Elite as a game with
05:33stealth mechanics, but anybody who's played them knows exactly what we're talking about.
05:38The Sniper Elite games have various moments where you might have to mask your shots during certain
05:43windows.
05:44Other times, you'll have to run away because you've blown your cover, which is when the
05:48game will create a silhouette to show you when and where the enemy last spotted you.
05:52It's these moments that make Sniper Elite much more dependent on stealth and less on just
05:59shooting everything with reckless abandon.
06:02Hitman World of Assassination.
06:10Whereas Splinter Cell requires tact, Hitman requires cunning in the ways you dispatch foes.
06:16The world of Assassination games in particular give you a number of different ways to take
06:21out your targets, though every window is available in a limited amount of time.
06:26You will have to devise plans on your own, to some degree, and take care in maintaining
06:31your cover.
06:32Entering areas where you shouldn't be or acting suspicious can compromise the entire mission.
06:38So, just like with Splinter Cell, you'll have to be smart in your approach.
06:47The Sly Cooper series.
06:56Though much of the gameplay is simply platforming, the Sly Cooper games deserve recognition for
07:02how they made stealth gameplay work in open areas.
07:05Players could easily avoid guards and adapt to situations thanks to how the game would
07:10resize enemies from a distance.
07:12On top of that, environments would have different ways to quickly avoid detection, whether it's
07:16be a table to crawl under, or an awning to launch you onto the roof.
07:20You had all sorts of ways to interact with the environment and feel like a sneaky raccoon.
07:26You know something, Cooper?
07:29You're actually starting to annoy me.
07:32Metal Gear Solid 3, Snake Eater.
07:36You okay?
07:38Those men were from the Ocelot Unit.
07:40Spetsnaz?
07:44Of course, Snake Eater is arguably the best stealth game you could possibly play, hands down.
07:51Sure, some may find it annoying to have Snake remove a bullet, or apply bandages in real time,
07:56or take a break to snack on Doritos because he's hungry.
07:59But the focus on stealth here is too clever with the wide range of camos and outfits you'll need to
08:05use.
08:06This game thinks of stealth on a very technical level that other games don't outside of noise detection.
08:12And that's why so many hold Snake Eater in such high regard to this day.
08:17What are the best stealth mechanics you've experienced in a game?
