00:10These are the 10 hardest items to get in Metal Gear Solid games.

00:13Whether it's a time sink, a difficult task or a little of both, getting these items requires

00:18growing an ulcer or two.

00:29Death Ballista

00:53One of the fun systems of Metal Gear Solid 5 is the Fulton system.

00:57To acquire allies, interpreters and even resources, the player can attach balloons

01:00to items and unconscious enemies which are propelled at high velocity into the air to

01:05be collected and returned to mother base automatically.

01:07This is a great system to acquire necessary gear.

01:10But with the F-Ballista, players can Fulton extract from a distance by simply shooting

01:14what they'd like to extract from a safe spot away from the action.

01:17To unlock this F-Ballista is a super easy task that requires minimal effort.

01:22You just simply have to Fulton 1000 enemies.

01:26You heard me correctly, 1000.

01:28Fultoning an enemy is not difficult, doing it 1000 times though is a pain in the ass.

01:34Meryl Slash Otacon Alternate Costumes

01:41Metal Gear Solid 1 was an early pioneer in the series.

01:44It set us up for an expectation of replayability with new and interesting gadgets and changes.

01:49From the infamous unlimited ammo bandana to the stealth camo, this game made sure that

01:53each playthrough had something different.

01:56In order to unlock alternate costumes for Meryl and Otacon however, the player simply

01:59needed a bit of time on their hands.

02:02First, the player must beat the game once, then a second time, but by doing a different

02:06ending to what they did in the first playthrough.

02:08The player then unlocks the tuxedo, and here comes the easy part.

02:12Beat it again.

02:13Either ending is fine, and now you'll find that Meryl and Otacon have their alternate

02:17costumes, and you put in all that time for basically nothing.

02:23Fire Camo

02:26Metal Gear Solid 3 introduced the fun and adaptive camo system, where players could

02:30use specific camo prints on their body and face to blend into particular areas better,

02:35thus enhancing the stealth elements of the game.

02:37Some of these camo prints came with special abilities that would aid the player in different

02:41elements of gameplay.

02:43The majority of these ability camos were unlocked by non-lethally killing bosses, which required

02:48that the player empty their opponents stamina bar rather than their health.

02:51Besides the end, the hardest boss to kill non-lethally was the Fury.

02:56Timing stun grenades while dodging his flames is an absolute nightmare, aiming quickly enough

03:00with a single shot trank gun before he attacks you, this boss fight was already hard enough

03:04before this cute little addition.

03:15Naked Gold Uniform

03:17Have you ever wanted to glisten like a trophy?

03:19Run to the battlefield like a Mario coin?

03:22Well in MGSV you can with the Naked Gold Uniform.

03:26Copying the design of the naked outfit but lathered head to toe in shining gold, this

03:31uniform can be unlocked by completing the additional missions the player receives outside

03:35of the main story.

03:36This includes the extreme difficulty missions, the subsistence missions, and the total stealth

03:41missions.

03:42Not only are these difficult to beat normally, but you must also beat them all with an S

03:47rank.

03:48So, yeah, get ready to scream.

03:55Infinite Ammo

03:56To acquire the unlimited ammo face camo in MGS3 your mission is to capture the elusive

04:01Tsuchinoko.

04:02The capturing process is extensive so by no means take this as your guide as we're gonna

04:08try and keep things brief.

04:09This creature possesses the unique ability to replenish stamina when consumed, but our

04:13aim is not consumption.

04:15Instead we must locate and detain it, ensuring it remains alive and confined throughout the

04:20game to claim our ultimate reward.

04:22This endeavour demands A. Awareness of its existence, B. Mastery of its peculiar capture

04:28method through experimentation, and C. Diligent retention of the creature in our inventory

04:33for the game's duration.

04:34Undeniably challenging, verging on the brink of impossible without guidance.

04:40Blue Wig

04:41This reward would probably be number one on a list of items that are incredibly hard to

04:44get and also useless as tits on a bull, but for today we don't care that the blue wig

04:50only gives you unlimited air consumption, we're just focusing on how fricking annoying

04:54it is to acquire.

04:56MGS2 introduced a fun collection system into its game where players could acquire the dog

05:00tags of enemies in the field as well as some bosses.

05:04Unlocking special items requires a different amount of tags for each particular unlockable,

05:09but the blue wig requires you to get every dog tag in the game, that's 218 dog tags.

05:16This means holding up and forcing 218 enemies to shake their booties and drop their tags.

05:22What a nightmare.

05:23Raiden Uniform

05:32Remember earlier when we talked about the naked gold uniform and how to unlock that

05:36the player had to beat all the extra missions?

05:39Well, although they are difficult, there's not that many of them.

05:41To acquire the Raiden uniform the player must also get S rank, but for every other mission

05:47in the game.

05:48That's right, S rank on every mission in the damn game.

05:51I couldn't even get C on some of these missions, what do I look like, David Hayter?

05:54I'm Kiefer Sutherland for god's sakes, I've only been at this for one damn game.

05:58Calm down mate.

06:04Mosin Nagant

06:06We're cheating here a little bit by combining two different items into one entry, but in

06:10fairness you acquire them both from the same boss by following the same principles, and

06:14also shut up.

06:16Overcoming the end is a formidable challenge, and although veteran MGS3 players likely have

06:21their strategies honed, first time players will experience this boss fight with all the

06:25rage and pain that we all did when we first turned this game on in 2004.

06:29However, even if you are a seasoned pro, defeating him by depleting his stamina demands patience

06:34while sneaking up on him and holding him up thrice demands even greater patience.

06:39Patience on patience on patience.

06:41Sneak up on him, perform the holdups and you'll attain the camo, and by non-lethally killing

06:46him and reducing his stamina in combat, you'll earn the Mosin Nagant.

06:50Stealth Camo

06:58There are actually two methods to unlock the stealth camo in MGS3, but for today we're

07:03focusing on the keratin frogs.

07:06Hidden in every area of MGS3, and yes, that's over 60 different areas, are well-disguised

07:11little frog toys that when you shoot, give off a cute little croak.

07:16To unlock the stealth camo, the player has to simply shoot or hit all 64 of them.

07:22And don't think these are hidden in plain sight, these are deeply frustrating to find,

07:26with some being hidden in fast-moving driving sections.

07:29It's like 64 Where's Waldo puzzles back to back.

07:33Without a guide, this will take a very, very long time.

07:37It's borderline impossible.

07:44The Patriot

07:45The famous gun that belongs to the boss and featured prominently in MGS3, is completely

07:50unlockable in MGS4.

07:52To unlock this gun without passwords, the player must earn the Big Boss Emblem.

07:57What's that you ask?

07:58Well, all you have to do is beat the game on the boss extreme difficulty, with 0 deaths,

08:040 alerts, 0 kills, 0 recovery items used, 0 special items used, and in under 5 hours.

08:12If you've never touched this game, let alone this series, I must make clear without any

08:17hyperbole, I could play this game for 10 years straight, every single day, for 8 hours every

08:22day, and that would still be almost impossible.
