02:50and we will get to those questions, comments, and concerns or whatnot in a future episode.
02:55Gonna get into today's news and rumors.
02:57Eventually we'll get into a raw review.
02:59Right now we're gonna start off with Brock Lesnar doing an interview with Spittin' Chicklets,
03:03which is a hockey podcast, but Brock Lesnar was being interviewed.
03:07And one of the interesting things he said is he went back to work so he could feed his kids,
03:11is what he said.
03:12He said, you guys see my grocery bill?
03:14So yeah, no, I left the company years ago.
03:15I'm grateful that I'm back for a short time here.
03:18I'm really grateful for all the opportunities I have had in my life.
03:21There was no real clarification about what he meant.
03:25There's been conversation about him retiring in Minnesota this year, SummerSlam.
03:30There's been other conversations about what his long-term plans are.
03:33I don't know.
03:33I think we're gonna have to wait and see.
03:35I think Brock Lesnar kind of does what Brock Lesnar wants to do.
03:37He could leave.
03:38He could come back.
03:39He could go into hiatus again.
03:42If you look at all the other stars out there like Matt Hardy, Rikishi, people like that
03:46have been talking about how Obafemi needs to win his match between the two of them at WrestleMania.
03:50I don't necessarily disagree with that because Obafemi is the future of the company.
03:54And Brock, at best, is gonna be a part-timer where Oba could be there every single week.
03:59So I would have no problem with Oba winning unless Brock is retiring.
04:02Then I think we have to have something a little different at Mania because you gotta keep
04:06Brock strong if indeed you're gonna go with the Gunther retiring Brock at SummerSlam angle.
04:11At the same time, I really don't want to see a heel versus heel at SummerSlam.
04:15So I don't know what you do with that.
04:16So I don't know how that may play into the planning and long-term booking of things and
04:20where people, you know, all the pieces may fall.
04:22But definitely an interesting statement.
04:24It's sounding like he came back.
04:25I love the I came back to feed my kids like the guy's hurting for cash to begin with.
04:29Has that massive ranch in Canada.
04:32He's on bearded butchers all the time.
04:34This guy knows how to take care of his money.
04:37And he's got quite a bit of a nest egg at this point.
04:40But love that he came back.
04:41I really do.
04:42I mean, people can have their opinions about his personal life and whatnot.
04:45I'm not here to judge that kind of stuff.
04:47I think the guy is a supreme talent, always has been.
04:50The full card has now been announced for the MVP Mixed Martial Arts show coming to Netflix.
05:01The Ronda Rousey Gina Carano pay-per-view.
05:05And there's talent on this card.
05:09You've got people like former UFC heavyweight champion Junior Dos Santos will be there.
05:13The Karate Combat Heavyweight Champion is going to be there.
05:18KSW Lightweight Champion will be there.
05:20There's all sorts of names popping up for this.
05:23There was conversation about other potential UFC talent that were approached to possibly work.
05:28The show, I know Ms. Vidal was saying that he was approached.
05:31And it didn't happen because of his commitments to UFC.
05:34This card, though, looks like it's going to be pretty solid, pretty stacked.
05:38Francis Ngannou, of course, is going to be returning to the cage.
05:41So, Nate Diaz is going to be fighting.
05:44So, there is a lot of talent going to be at this show.
05:46And it makes it so, look, I get it.
05:48I still want to see the Rousey Carano thing.
05:49But I think there's more to the show for the more mainstream Mixed Martial Arts fans.
05:55And I think that's a great thing.
05:56And the promotion so far has been fantastic.
05:58Even Ronda Rousey showing up in AEW.
06:01And let's make it very clear.
06:03People have been debating this since it happened.
06:06But according to Pro Wrestling Insider Elite, Ronda Rousey's appearance at AEW Revolution was just a one-off.
06:12She was there to support her friend, Marina Shafir.
06:15And kind of promote the fight against Carano at the same time.
06:18It certainly got mentioned.
06:20The stars align.
06:21She lives right in the area to where they were having the show.
06:25So, it made a lot of sense.
06:27But they were not.
06:28Immediately, there was conversation about Rousey versus Toni Storm.
06:31Well, now Toni Storm is out until probably 2027 with that being the case.
06:36I guess, theoretically, there's a chance that when Ronda does this, she could always come back and face Toni Storm
06:41later.
06:42Whenever Toni Storm is ready to come back.
06:44Perhaps this leads to something down the pike.
06:46It sounds like she has a fantastic relationship with Toni Kahn.
06:49So, I could easily see this being turned into something further down the line.
06:53I think right now her focus is going to be laser-focused on Gina Carano.
06:57And once she gets past that event, no matter how it goes down, I guess that that time is when
07:02we'll see where we're going to go from there.
07:04Dave Meltzer with a big report today talking about WWE and Tom Brady are negotiating for a WrestleMania appearance.
07:11I don't know what that appearance would be.
07:13I would imagine it would be some kind of physicality involved.
07:16If I had to hypothesize, I would imagine Brady would be in, for lack of better terms, a managerial role
07:22of some kind.
07:23And possibly get physically involved at the end of a match or something like that.
07:26And I can't imagine Tom Brady actually having a full-blown match.
07:31Certainly not after the comments he's made on social media, making fun of professional wrestling, talking about how much he
07:39doesn't respect pro wrestling and all that kind of stuff.
07:41And how they're not real athletes and whatnot.
07:43So, I love that they're trying to get some mainstream draw by having somebody like him on the card.
07:48But definitely, I don't see him doing much more than a glorified couple, maybe throwing a punch or a clothesline
07:55or something and getting out of there.
07:56I would love to see him take a bump.
07:58I don't like the guy at all.
07:59But, you know, whatever.
08:00He is the GOAT.
08:01I can't even argue that at this point.
08:04Let's get into some raw conversation.
08:05Let's talk about some of the decent stuff.
08:07Like, I love the Obafemi, Brock Lesnar opening the show, Femi getting the better of Brock again.
08:12Usually, though, when somebody gets the better of somebody a couple times in a row, at some point, that means
08:15the other guy is going to go over.
08:16Which I'm not, again, depending on what we're doing at SummerSlam, I don't know how I feel about Brock going
08:21over or taking the fall.
08:23I really don't know.
08:25I think I'm going to have to wait and see where they let the plans go.
08:28So, after that, the Vision-Uso match, for me, was a total waste.
08:33The word is that the Usos are throwing out the first pitch at an opening night of baseball, and so
08:38WWE didn't want to take the Tag Team Championship off them until after that.
08:41That's why they did this angle to set up the Tag Team Championship match for next week.
08:45Which, if that's the case, that's fine.
08:48But it just makes the match look so stupid to have the kind of finish that they had with the
08:53brass knuckles and Jey Uso and all that.
08:56But you don't do that when there's no championship on the line.
08:59You should have had a championship match where he did the exact same thing and got disqualified, thereby giving them
09:04another match the following week.
09:05I think that would have made a lot more sense.
09:07Having a non-title match, you don't need to worry about the brass knuckles.
09:11It's kind of ludicrous.
09:12I don't think it helped further the storyline whatsoever.
09:16The interaction with Becky Lynch and AJ Lee, not thrilled.
09:19I'm going to be honest with you.
09:19I know a lot of people really enjoy the fact that these two are going to get it on again
09:22at WrestleMania, and I have no problem with that.
09:24My issue is, there needs to be a stipulation on this match.
09:28So far, no stipulation match is really announced other than championships being on the line.
09:32This should have been an I quit match or a submission match of some kind.
09:36And we haven't heard that yet.
09:37And I hope that we get that at some point.
09:39We still could.
09:40We're still a couple weeks away.
09:42But I think right now, they've got to really flesh out this card.
09:44And if they don't start talking about these things, there's no way they're going to be able to put together
09:47the storylines fast enough.
09:50Loving the stuff Javon Evans is doing with Kofi Kingston.
09:52Kofi being very respectful.
09:54The match against Grayson Waller was, I mean, it is what it is.
09:57I haven't seen Javon Evans really have a bad match.
10:00What I have seen is a lot of high risks that I don't know are necessarily always worth the risk
10:06that he's going for, if that makes any sense.
10:08I think sometimes he doesn't need to do as much as he does to accomplish the same goal.
10:13And I'm a little worried what he's going to do to himself.
10:14He hits wrong, lands wrong, gets hurt or whatnot.
10:17And what that's going to do is long-term viability as a premium WWE superstar for the next 15 to
10:2320 years if he's doing all these bumps and jumps and spins and kicks and everything.
10:26I like to see them on occasion, but they shouldn't be on every show.
10:29And I feel like that's all we get from them anymore is all these high spots, especially from a company
10:33that likes to – they've had wrestlers in the past, like back when Braun Strowman was making fun of all
10:39these people for being flippy wrestlers and whatnot.
10:42And now WWE's got somebody who basically that's pretty much most of what he does.
10:46I'm not a big fan of that being your exclusive move set.
10:50I think they need to diversify his move set a little bit, but we'll have to wait and see how
10:53things play out.
10:54The part with Paul Heyman calling out Seth Rollins, it was all right.
10:58I don't know why they had multiple masked men come out.
11:01They never really interacted anywhere, and then Seth was just on a table.
11:05But I'm not going to lie to you.
11:06I hated everything about the restraining order getting arrested nonsense.
11:11This was stupid.
11:12If you're trying to keep him off TV for a little while because he's not cleared or Braun Breaker is
11:17not necessarily cleared yet, do it another way.
11:19This was dumb.
11:21There's no way in heaven's – no way that this would go down like this in real life.
11:26So it makes it look cartoonish.
11:29With enough people already talking about how – I don't want to say – I'll use the word predetermined professional
11:35wrestling is.
11:36This made it look less authentic.
11:38How's that?
11:40I would have preferred not to see that.
11:41I think that was a waste of a moment.
11:43I think if you wanted to have him rough up Paul Heyman, just have him do it.
11:47If Braun is not ready to come back, I don't know what you're going to do.
11:50You're running out of time.
11:50At some point, you've got to make a decision here.
11:53I would have been more in favor of him being the one that faced Brock Lesnar and have Obafemi do
11:57something more substantial.
11:58But whatever.
11:58It is what it is.
12:00The Kabuki Warriors-Bailey-Lyra-Valkyria match, it was okay.
12:04There was nothing in it that really upset me.
12:06There was nothing in it that really impressed me either.
12:08I hate Kairi Sane taking another pinfall loss.
12:11I do love the stuff in the back where she's clearly wanting to break free but keeps resisting.
12:17I thought the interview after the match was complete trash.
12:19I feel like somebody set that up for it to just crash and burn.
12:24Next week, we'll get the tag team match between they and the Irresistible Forces, meaning Bayley and Valkyria, for picking
12:30up the win.
12:31But heading into Mania, you know no championships are changing hands this close.
12:34It's just not going to happen.
12:35I don't know why iShowSpeed was there.
12:38I guess just to give Dan Housen one more person to curse, but whatever.
12:41I suppose that fits the bill.
12:44Then we find out we're going to get Raquel Rodriguez and Io Sky next week.
12:46Again, that match has been done to death, so nothing exciting there.
12:50Then we get the match where Liv Morgan is walking Dominic to the ring, and there's a big brawl breaks
12:56out when Stephanie Valkyria attacks.
12:58What I found odd about this is the whole time Liv Morgan is attacking Stephanie Valkyria, nobody rushes in at
13:04all.
13:04Everybody just stays in her seats and watches her beat the snot out of Stephanie Valkyria.
13:08As soon as Stephanie starts to get her comeback, everybody rushes in and pulls them apart.
13:12It's just, again, the nonsensical approach to how they booked this stuff I'm not a fan of.
13:17The match itself, Penta and Don Mysterio, I actually really enjoyed.
13:21I do like the way they integrated Finn Balor coming back.
13:24I love that they had the original Finn Balor music.
13:26That was awesome.
13:28I, for one, think it's one of the best entrance themes ever in WWE.
13:32I hope we see the demon character at Mania against Dominic Mysterio.
13:36I actually thought they might give the belt back to Dom tonight so it could be for the championship at
13:39Mania.
13:39If you want, put some prestige on the AAA championship and have them defend that at Mania.
13:43That'd be kind of cool.
13:45But either way, I'm looking forward to what is obviously going to be a WrestleMania match.
13:48It's going to be Dominic Mysterio versus Finn Balor.
13:51I'm not sure what you do with Penta, though.
13:53I mean, maybe a multi-person match for the Intercontinental Championship.
13:55I'm fine with that if that's what you want to do.
13:58Who's going to be in that match, though?
13:59You know what I mean?
14:00There's so many people to choose from.
14:02Maybe that's where you slip an L.A. night in.
14:04I don't want to see Gunther in something like that if Rey Mysterio is not coming back.
14:08Because we still don't have any plan for him either.
14:10I did think it was interesting that later on, as a matter of fact, the next major section, the CM
14:15Punk Roman Reigns part, Punk did bring up Gunther's name.
14:19I guess that's an interesting way to keep his name out there for people to think about.
14:23Now, in this segment, Punk came across as very brash and cocky.
14:29And I guess that fits.
14:31Jey Uso is coming across like a primetime star right now in a way he hasn't really since really right
14:38before he lost the World Heavyweight Championship.
14:41Roman Reigns, I kind of like the fact that they were playing up the whole Jey Uso telling Roman to
14:46go attack CM Punk.
14:49I kind of like that.
14:51It leads to potentially, but you've got to look ahead.
14:54Roman's going to face Punk.
14:55I don't know what's going to happen with that.
14:57Because if you don't remember, there was conversation that Roman Reigns' contract expires in May.
15:02And he had not yet signed a contract extension because there is some ambitions to go into Hollywood.
15:06And he can't be doing this forever, certainly with his health conditions that he's constantly dealing with.
15:10So, if Roman is leaving, I expect Punk to win.
15:14If Roman is staying, I expect Roman to potentially win.
15:17But I think you could see where Jimmy and Jey, I feel like, are going to lose the Tag Team
15:21Championship next week.
15:22They're going to see a heeled Jey versus a baby-faced Jimmy at Mania to make up for that atrocity
15:27that was a couple years ago when they wrestled at Mania, which was terrible.
15:30Hopefully this one will be better.
15:31Where, and I think coming out of Mania, you could very easily see a heeled Jey Uso at some point
15:37take on Roman Reigns.
15:38Remember, they did that way back in the day.
15:40And that's kind of what led to main event Jey Uso's character being created.
15:44I would love to see them roll that back and do that again now with the roles kind of reversed.
15:49Not that I want to see Roman necessarily be a hardcore face.
15:52But I'd like to see that mean streak in Jey Uso to see if he can really carry the ball
15:57and go back to that level.
15:58And I actually think he should beat Roman.
16:00I really do if they do that.
16:03But I'm still not sure what's going on with that.
16:04Until we get confirmation that Roman has a new contract, I don't know that we know exactly what's going to
16:08happen with that.
16:08If Roman has a new contract, I think he wins.
16:11If he doesn't, I think he loses.
16:12I think no matter what happens, Jey needs to come out looking like a bigger star than he is going
16:18into all this.
16:19Him telling Roman to smash him and smash him and whatnot was wonderful.
16:23I actually really enjoyed that part.
16:25So, all in all, Raw was not a bad show.
16:28Wasn't the best show.
16:29Could have been better.
16:29Could have been worse.
16:30But definitely furthered some storylines.
16:32Worthless stuff in other parts of the show.
16:34So, it really is like a 50-50 show for me.
16:37You know?
16:37So, we'll have to wait and see if they do better on SmackDown.
16:40And the last thing tonight, congratulations posthumously to the incredibly talented Sid Udy.
16:47Known to the wrestling world as Psycho Sid or Sid Vicious or Sid Justice.
16:52Pick your way to refer to him.
16:55He has been announced as the latest inductee, a legacy induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.
17:01And for me, this is something that in a lot of ways is long overdue.
17:05I still hope we get more people added.
17:07But this guy has held the world championship in WWE, WCW.
17:11He's been United States champion.
17:13He's held enough gold.
17:15He's done enough.
17:16He's headlined enough pay-per-views or headlining Mania with The Undertaker.
17:18Things like that.
17:19Where he really deserved to be in there.
17:21I really wish he would have gotten in while he was still with us.
17:23Unfortunately, he did pass away and was not able to do so.
17:26I mean, think about it.
17:27He main-evented with Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania.
17:29Somebody hit me with a crazy stat the other day.
17:31Think about this.
17:32The last time Hulk Hogan successfully, keyword, successfully defended a championship at WrestleMania
17:39was WrestleMania III against Andre the Giant.
17:42And I didn't know if that was accurate or not.
17:44But if you thought about it, WrestleMania IV was the tournament.
17:46He didn't win the tournament.
17:48V was winning a title.
17:49Six was losing the title.
17:52Seven was winning a title.
17:54Eight was not a title match.
17:55It was against Sid.
17:56Nine was a tag team match.
17:59I don't know if you'd call that a loss or a win or what that was.
18:01But they didn't win the championship and they didn't defend one.
18:03He won the title at the end of the night against Yokozun.
18:06And that's schmazz nonsense.
18:07And he was gone for ten in their forward until we got much, much later.
18:11And he wasn't champion at any point.
18:12So, yeah, WrestleMania III was the last time Hulk Hogan defended a championship,
18:17successfully defended the championship at WrestleMania.
18:20That's interesting.
18:21Again, successfully defended.
18:23That's key words.
18:24So, but yeah, one of those matches he had at Mania, in a Mania event, was with Sid Justice at
18:30the time.
18:31And I thought, I just, I really was a fan of his.
18:34That horrible leg break coming back, doing the spot with Heath Slater when he was going, talking trash about all
18:41the legends.
18:42All of it.
18:42I've been a Psycho Sid fan for a very long time.
18:45Look, there's some backstage stuff that happened from here and there.
18:48He and Arn Anderson had their little scissor incident, you know, things like that.
18:53Rumors that he would take time off to play softball, stuff like that.
18:56I don't know.
18:57I'm not here to judge that.
