02:43Tonight, going to jump into a random news going on all over the world of professional wrestling.
02:48Got to start with the conversation about Dave Meltzer claiming that the first female superstar is joining the Vision.
02:55And here's the thing about this report, right?
02:58Even a blind man can see this coming a thousand miles away, but Dave Meltzer chooses to make a big
03:04report about this.
03:05With Bronson Reed still on the shelf and Logan Paul now out for the next several months with a torn
03:10tricep,
03:11it turns out the division needs some new members, and according to Dave Meltzer, they're going to be getting at
03:16least one.
03:17It's going to be none other than...
03:22Maxine Dupree.
03:23Like any of us didn't see that coming.
03:25I mean, let's be honest, the girl's been in the background of so many shots the last several weeks,
03:30it's obvious they've been building to something,
03:32and then this week when she's standing there next to Alpha Academy and he walks by or whatever,
03:37now the only thing they could do that could make this even more spicy and more amazing
03:42is if she's been setting him up the whole time.
03:44She's been hanging with Austin Theory,
03:47at Raw she goes away and says she has to go someplace,
03:50and then somehow gets him a tag team match,
03:52and he and Braun Breaker end up losing the tag titles to Alpha Academy,
03:56which I would absolutely love.
03:59I don't think that's what they're going to do,
04:00but that's what I would love to see happen.
04:02However, that is the report by Dave Meltzer.
04:05I can't believe he actually took radio time to discuss these things.
04:08Now let's be honest, she hasn't really done much since her feud with Natalya,
04:11where she kind of lost the feud.
04:13She's done some stuff on main event.
04:15She was doing so well with the Becky Lynch stuff.
04:16I know, look, I know it wasn't everybody's cup of tea,
04:19but I actually kind of liked the Becky Lynch feud.
04:21I really did.
04:21And I'm glad she got the Women's Intercontinental Championship for a hot minute.
04:24I don't think she's somebody they wanted to keep the belt on permanently,
04:27but I certainly think she was worth, you know, giving a run with the championship.
04:30Give it, switch it up a little bit.
04:32It was a nice little go-between until the A.J. Lee thing came to fruition.
04:37WWE also announcing, as I said, Logan Paul suffering an injury at Saturday night's main event.
04:41He's going to be out for several months.
04:43This is a torn tricep.
04:44If you watch the video, you can see when it happens.
04:46It's really a shame.
04:47It's kind of a freak accident.
04:50Look, the vision is as snake-bitten as it gets.
04:52You kick out your leader because he got hurt.
04:55Braun got hurt.
04:56Bronson gets hurt.
04:57Now Logan gets hurt.
04:58The only guy left, really, is Theory, and now Braun, who came back, you know?
05:02And you were just going to put Braun Breaker in the world championship picture.
05:05Now he has to go into the tag team picture, which kind of buries him by having to do that.
05:09And I, you know, and I'm going to get into a raw review in a few seconds,
05:12but, like, the fact that they have to use the Freebird rule
05:15because they have nothing better to do with the tag team championship.
05:18They have so few tag teams.
05:19Heaven forbid they have a tag team tournament.
05:22Oh, wait.
05:22We can't do that because we terminated half the tag team world.
05:26We got rid of the New Day.
05:27How is it that the Viking Raiders are still on the roster but the New Day were eliminated
05:32and now we've got this kind of problem with tag teams being on the roster?
05:35Just saying.
05:36But, yeah, Logan Paul being injured.
05:38I don't know if anybody saw the viral video that went up of Logan Paul.
05:41He saw somebody in the crowd with a sign for him that they love him,
05:46and he was actually so flattered that the sign was in the crowd.
05:48It's nice to see the guy get a few kudos because I don't care what anybody says.
05:52One, he's phenomenal in the ring.
05:54Two, he's clearly putting in the work.
05:55Three, he's been there almost every week on television.
05:57And most importantly, for all you could complain about his past transgressions when he was much younger and stupid and
06:03immature,
06:04and I think even he would admit that, the guy's been doing it right since he's been in WWE.
06:08He just has.
06:10Okay?
06:10Does he have controversies?
06:12All rich people get involved in all sorts of schemes that they try to make more money in.
06:16I don't fault him for any of that.
06:17I don't think any one of the people who listen to this show would be any different if they had
06:21the money to invest in some of the stuff he does as well.
06:23We'd all be buying Prime Energy and every other thing under the sun.
06:26So, it is what it is.
06:27But in terms of his wrestling, and I'm sorry, I'm a wrestling show.
06:31I'm not here to have a morality show.
06:33So, in terms of wrestling, he can go.
06:36You know, I saw somebody put up a ludicrous theme the other day about him being in the main event
06:40of WrestleMania.
06:40I'm not ready to go there yet.
06:41But look at the way he's transformed his body.
06:44He's in incredible shape.
06:45I hate to see him have the injury to the tricep.
06:47But I think this guy's got a really good future in front of him in terms of pro wrestling.
06:52And can probably do it as long as he wants to.
06:54And, you know, I'm actually kind of sad to see him get injured.
06:57Because I was really excited to see where they were going to go with him.
06:59Especially with the Joe Hendry stuff.
07:01Good they're in the news.
07:03Not knowing if that Lesnar match is ever going to happen.
07:05He said he's pretty much focused on the Cody Rhodes thing for now.
07:09You know, with Brock doing this match with Obafemi.
07:11Even if...
07:12So, if Obafemi wins this, I think Brock has to go away.
07:15Because it would make no sense to have a third match with them.
07:18And then Brock would have lost all his steam and fire heading into SummerSlam.
07:24So, I can't see that being a lead into Gunther.
07:26If Brock wins this one, then you have to have a rubber match with Obafemi.
07:31So, I can see where there's a very good possibility.
07:33If Lesnar is, in fact, hanging up the boots for a second time, I guess.
07:38At SummerSlam, I can see why it probably may not be Gunther.
07:42And we all wanted to see it.
07:44And Gunther was doing an interview with an Italian wrestling channel.
07:47Talking about it.
07:49It's obvious.
07:49He says, I don't know.
07:51He said, I wasn't there the day of Mania.
07:54They're referencing Lesnar's match with Obafemi.
07:56Because it was the day after me and all of that happened with Brock.
08:00So, I only saw it in the headline.
08:02But that's literally all I had.
08:04The info I had.
08:05And yeah, I was like, he's back now.
08:06I haven't thought about it.
08:08I'm really focused on what I do with Cody now.
08:10I'll be challenging for the WWE Undisputed Championship in Italy.
08:13And that's my focus right now.
08:14And I understand that.
08:16Now, he did mention that if he beats Cody, that Brock could challenge him for the championship.
08:19I would love to see that as well.
08:21Obviously, he would win.
08:22He would retire Brock and keep the championship.
08:24But I don't know how we'd get there with this Obafemi situation being there.
08:28But I do think it's interesting that he's still talking about it.
08:31Because it's obviously a match he would like to have.
08:33I just don't see a way to make it happen.
08:35Now, we've got to get into Raw.
08:36Because Raw was an interesting show.
08:38There's some people who hated it.
08:40Some people who loved it.
08:41Look, you've got to be honest with yourselves.
08:43WWE is working around injuries constantly lately.
08:46You know, the vision stuff.
08:49Having to take it gingerly with people like Seth Rollins because of his repeated injury history.
08:53And if we're being completely honest, people complain when they gut the NXT roster.
08:57But what are you going to do?
08:58You've got to bring talent up to the main roster.
08:59Because you've got to replace these people who keep getting hurt.
09:02You know?
09:02I did see a picture online of Bronson Reed.
09:04He looks jacked out of his mind.
09:06He looks like he slimmed down quite a bit as well.
09:08I'm hoping to see him back sooner than later.
09:11Paul Heyman opened the show.
09:13All kinds of trash talk back and forth.
09:15The Obafemi-Brock Lister conversation.
09:18I thought it was interesting when Obafemi came out.
09:21He got in his face.
09:22I thought it was going to get physical.
09:24It did not.
09:24I thought Brock would make an appearance.
09:25He did not.
09:27I think that would have popped the segment if we had something between the two of them.
09:31Even if it was holding them back.
09:33We get into the Penta versus Javon Evans.
09:35Intercontinental Championship match.
09:36I love the match.
09:38I did not like the backstage segment later on in the show where it almost seemed like Javon Evans was
09:43almost like complaining about wanting another match.
09:46Like you just had a match and you lost clean.
09:48I don't see why he's justified in getting another match.
09:52So I don't know.
09:52We'll have to wait and see that.
09:54We find out what's going on with the Vision and the Tag Team Championship.
09:59Paul Heyman makes it clear that the contracts that he signs are for the Vision, not for two members in
10:03particular.
10:04So anybody can defend those Tag Team Championships.
10:07He even references, oh, Braun Breaker as the new Tag Team Champion.
10:11So I guess that's what we're doing.
10:13I guess that clarifies some of it for some people.
10:15I don't understand why they continued the fire Logan Paul music part with Joe Hendry.
10:23I'd move past it.
10:24If he's injured, he's going to be gone for months.
10:25There's no sense in doing that.
10:26I guess you bring out Theory to attack him.
10:28But Theory is a Tag Team and he's a Tag Team Champion.
10:32Joe Hendry is a single.
10:34You have the Street Profits in the Tag Team scene.
10:37None of it makes sense to me.
10:39It seems very disjointed.
10:41So I don't know.
10:42I wasn't a big fan of that either.
10:44I don't like seeing Joe Hendry almost get steamrolled by somebody like that.
10:48We saw the segment in the back with Seth Rollins and Angelo Dawkins.
10:52And eventually we see, oh my goodness, what the heck is his name?
10:59And Montez Ford coming back into the picture.
11:03He's talking about how they don't need him.
11:06And they're doing the same conversation they've been doing for weeks now.
11:09Boring.
11:10We've been there.
11:11We've done that.
11:12We get to the Roxanne Perez, Raquel Rodriguez versus Bayley and Lara Vicaria.
11:17I feel like we've done this match about 347 times.
11:21Kind of tired of seeing that as well.
11:23This is what I mean.
11:24The matches aren't bad.
11:25Let me be clear.
11:26None of the matches are bad.
11:27They're just so freaking repetitive.
11:30Can WWE please come up with something?
11:34And I'm sorry.
11:35If you're going to come up with stupid gimmicky type things all the time just to have something
11:40interesting to watch, do it.
11:42Because I'm kind of tired of the same crap every single week.
11:45You know, we've seen this tag team match before.
11:47I don't need to see it ever, ever, ever again.
11:50From there we go backstage.
11:52Roman Reigns complaining about the Jacob Fatu challenge, the tribal combat match, all
11:57that kind of stuff.
11:58We hear from LA Knight who makes it clear that the King of the Ring tournament is coming
12:01back.
12:01That's like the only exciting thing of the night for me was this segment.
12:05I love this interaction with him and Jimmy.
12:07I think Jimmy should be in the tournament.
12:09I actually think Jimmy could win the tournament.
12:11If not, I think LA Knight is a great one to also win the tournament.
12:13Because if you remember, they started giving a championship match to whoever wins the tournament.
12:17I'm cool with that.
12:19Not sure who else they'll put in there.
12:21I'm sure it'll be a schmoz of all sorts of mid-carper, mid-card guys, Rusevs and stuff
12:26like that.
12:27But I would love to see LA Knight walk out as the winner of the Men's King of the Ring
12:30at least.
12:30But it is good to hear that coming back.
12:32We needed to see that.
12:34I love the character play that they're doing with the Usos and the hypocrisy of the way
12:39they're acting right now.
12:40I love all that.
12:41I thought that was solid.
12:43We head backstage where the new AAA general manager, Rey Mysterio, is back there talking
12:48to other people about having an opportunity at the Intercontinental Championship.
12:53Rusev gets in there.
12:54Ethan Page gets in there.
12:56And I thought they played this up well to set up a match.
12:59I just, I don't know.
13:01And if you follow my other episodes that are out, Rey Mysterio looking like he's winding
13:06down the career, I guess maybe you give him one more championship run.
13:09I don't think he loses, he beats Penta though.
13:11I really don't.
13:12Well, Penta is so over right now.
13:14And obviously Rusev's not going to beat Rey Mysterio neither.
13:17And Ethan Page had his opportunity.
13:19Again, this almost feels like treading water.
13:21I feel like WWE is giving us the Penta versus Rey match because it's like box office for
13:27Mexico and AAA and all that.
13:31But I think this is the kind of match that you would prefer to have at like a WrestleMania,
13:34not on like a Raw.
13:36And I feel like we're going to end up getting it on a Raw, which is kind of disappointing.
13:39The Seth Rollins-Montez Ford match could have been so much better if they were given more
13:43time.
13:43It was still pretty solid.
13:45And I think it was a predictable win, obviously.
13:46I would have loved to have seen a shock upset.
13:48I really would.
13:49I think Montez Ford really could go as a singles guy someday.
13:52We've talked about that in years past.
13:53And they've kind of gone away from that.
13:55I would have loved to have seen a shock win for Montez Ford.
13:58And what would that have done to the conversation around the division?
14:01It really would have helped set the division up for that tag team match with Braun Breaker
14:05them being involved if you're defeating Seth Rollins, who was also beaten by Braun Breaker.
14:09But they didn't do that.
14:10Seth Rollins wins after the match.
14:11You know, Angela Dawkins, Austin Theory come out.
14:14There's all sorts of melee and stuff going on after the fact.
14:17It was solid.
14:18It was also, the match was phenomenal.
14:21Becky Lynch, you know, sends a message to Sol Ruka.
14:25Who cares?
14:26It's, in my opinion, they just destroyed Sol Ruka since she's come to the main roster.
14:30For all the extra breaks they were talking about, her getting down in NXT, she's gotten
14:34just totally washed since coming to the main roster.
14:39Not impressed at all.
14:40The Mysterio-Rusev match, very predictable.
14:43Rey Mysterio wins.
14:44He's going to get a shot at the Intercontinental Championship.
14:45I don't think there was any surprises here.
14:48It was kind of textbook, Triple H booking lately.
14:51And then we get to what was supposed to be the biggest thing of the night.
14:54Roman Reigns, Jacob Fatu.
14:55No physicality.
14:57Total respect.
14:58Said their side.
14:59Shake hands.
15:00Head to head.
15:01I'm sorry.
15:02After everything you've done the last four or five weeks with these two guys, how you
15:06have them hold hands and bump heads together in the middle of the ring at the end of the
15:09show is beyond me.
15:11And don't give me this blood honor nonsense.
15:13If that's the case, he wouldn't have Tongan Vistia earlier in the month.
15:17Like, it just seems so ridiculous.
15:20Oh, he signed that contract and now it's a blood oath.
15:23He didn't care about blood before.
15:25Why would he care now?
15:26He wants to take everything from you.
15:28He doesn't care about a blood oath.
15:29He cares about taking your throne.
15:31Whatever.
15:32It is what it is.
15:33I am excited to see the match.
15:35I've said it before.
15:36I wish it was a main event at WrestleMania, but it's not going to be.
15:38So I guess this is just what we're going to get and it's going to be what it's going
15:41to be.
15:42I wasn't impressed.
15:43And where the heck is CM Punk?
15:44I'm kind of tired of not seeing him on television.
15:46At this point, they need him.
15:49They really do.
15:50There's just nothing exciting going on on the brand right now.
15:52And I don't even know what you do with him once he gets back.
15:54So we're going to have to wait and see.
15:56Raw was lackluster for me.
15:57This was a down show.
15:58The matches, like I said, the matches were solid, but they were repetitive.
16:03It's boring.
16:04We need something exciting, especially if you're trying to counter what AEW is doing,
16:08which is driving up their viewership, their quality of matches, their quality of shows.
16:14AEW is doing phenomenal business right now.
16:17WWE, they're always going to do tons of business because they have such a global presence.
16:20But at the end of the day, their product sucks right now.
16:23And I don't know who to blame for that.
16:25Is TKO meddling too much?
16:27Is Triple H not creative enough?
16:29Are there not the right people in their ears giving them the buzz?
16:32Maybe Vince is out of touch and not communicating with them anymore now that we know there were
16:35some text messages going back and forth?
16:37I don't know.
16:38But they better figure something out because otherwise, this is going to get really difficult
16:41to watch.
16:42This is like 2015 hard to watch at this point.
