00:00You know, we seem to have two narratives going on here.
00:03I mean, it sounds like the Trump administration is really keen on negotiations all of a sudden.
00:09And Tehran is really not very excited about negotiations, saying we're not positive about this review.
00:14This 15-point plan will end the war when it suits us.
00:19I mean, do you think it's a fair reading to say that the Iranians are looking less keen than the
00:24Americans to get to the negotiating table?
00:27It's hard to say because you do have to call their bluff, too.
00:31I mean, they're not going to say, yes, we're excited to enter into negotiations with the United States.
00:36This is a country, after all, that has a regime that for 47 years has said death to America.
00:43America is the great Satan.
00:45And so I don't see them all of a sudden saying we're really looking forward to negotiating.
00:50I mean, part of the reason they're negotiating is because Iran and Israel, certainly Israel, want to see regime change.
00:56That means we want to see you people out.
00:59And so I think where President Trump is trying to negotiate, he's trying to say we're willing to work with
01:07you so long as you agree to our parameters.
01:10Here's the problem is that the Iranian people don't want to see this regime in place.
01:15So if the goal was to get the Iranian people to a peaceful place where if they protest or if
01:20they express their views or if they happen to, you know, be of something that is different than a hardline
01:26Islamic person, that they don't get killed, that their kids aren't killed because they're in the streets expressing their opinions.
01:33And I don't know that that is something that we have seen really be part of this negotiation.
01:40The Iranian people want to see that regime gone, just like it happened in 1979.
01:45I'm not sure that's where the Trump administration is.
