00:00And the most sensitive points, you just mentioned it there, actually remain the Strait of Hormuz
00:05and Iran's enriched uranium issue.
00:08Major sticking points, John, are still here.
00:12How can the US and Iran possibly narrow those gaps?
00:16Well, what's interesting, you know, in terms of what's being reported,
00:19is that there's nothing there about the nuclear program.
00:22So if that's true, then Iran has very successfully shifted this entire conversation
00:27onto the Strait of Hormuz and onto its terms and is in effect dictating the terms of peace to the
00:33United States.
00:34It is getting a military de-escalation climb down from the Trump administration
00:42over actual live hostilities in Iran.
00:46It's getting some kind of sanctions relief before any actual conversations and negotiations start.
00:55The draft that's been reported by your network suggests some kind of start to conversations and negotiations
01:03within the next seven days, which, of course, is very vague and subjective language.
01:07So, again, all of us will have to see if this is in fact the case.
01:11But if it is true, it's yet another reminder that the United States entered this conflict
01:16without a lot of strategic forethought about how it was going to end
01:21and is actually ending up, if not the loser, certainly not looking like the winner in the conference.
