A controversial classroom incident at Sri Siddhartha Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre in T. Begur near Nelamangala, Bengaluru Rural, escalated into violence after a professor allegedly made a ‘love proposal’ claim involving a student.

The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, came to light after multiple videos recorded by students went viral on social media.

Classroom Incident Triggers Row
According to initial reports, the professor, identified as Mohammed (also referred to as Mohammed Abdul), told students during a class that a student had proposed to him and that he reciprocated her feelings. He was also seen distributing chocolates to the class.

In the video, the student is heard confronting the professor, denying any such proposal and asking him to take the matter to the principal. She questioned his claims, while the professor insisted she had expressed her feelings and even mentioned the existence of CCTV footage. The student demanded that he produce the footage.

The professor then left the classroom, stating he would speak to her the next day.

Situation Turns Violent
Soon after he exited, the situation escalated. The student allegedly assaulted the professor with her slipper, following which other students joined in, leading to a chaotic scene on campus. The professor was reportedly abused and physically attacked.

Police Response
The incident falls under the jurisdiction of Nelamangala Rural Police Station. Police confirmed that they are aware of the videos and have initiated a probe.

However, as of now, no formal complaint has been filed by either the professor or the student.

Authorities are monitoring the situation, and further action will depend on the outcome of the inquiry.
