00:04You're watching Discovery On Demand.
00:09This week on Orange County Chopper's Original.
00:12Our friend Fran is doing a bike with us to bring awareness to an organization that deals with animals and
00:17veterans.
00:18Like, could there be eagle wings kind of making the sidecar?
00:21All the way through the whole build, there was just issues.
00:29This is red, these are orange. Look at the difference.
00:31We fixed it and finished it.
00:36This is gorgeous.
01:10So, in typical OCC fashion, we just finished a bike and we've got us started on the next one already.
01:15And our friend Fran, who we've known for quite some time since we've been down here in Florida, is doing
01:19a bike with us to bring awareness to an organization that deals with animals and veterans and PTSD.
01:25Paul's got some cool ideas for it and some cool colors, so I'm looking forward to working on this one.
01:29What's going on?
01:31He wonders why I don't want him to drive my truck.
01:33Did anybody else happen to notice that he jumped the curb almost in this?
01:37Don't say a word to me inside.
01:38Drive your truck.
01:39Good to see you.
01:42How are you, Jim?
01:42How are you, Jim?
01:43Good to see you.
01:43How are you doing?
01:44Hi, Tony.
01:45Up north, honey.
01:46It's cold today.
01:47I'm heading up north in a couple of hours.
01:50How are you?
01:50You look awesome.
01:51So, I was like, well, half winter, half Florida, and we're in winter in Florida right now, anyway.
01:55You look beautiful and I have goosebumps.
01:57So, come on in, you guys.
01:58You look fabulous as Oli.
02:00Never been out this way before.
02:01No matter where Fran goes, she brings an energy that is unmatched.
02:07So, you guys, I have two friends with me today.
02:09They're very special to me.
02:10George Colella is a 9-11 survivor.
02:12Very close friend, Patrick Bradley, a Vietnam vet.
02:15We've done a lot of things together.
02:17Patrick works with rescue animals, specifically birds of prey, to help veterans with PTSD.
02:22And George is the president of a motorcycle group here.
02:25He's helped us in Tallahassee.
02:26We go up there at least a few times a year to advocate for biker's rights.
02:30And nothing brings joy, I feel like, to everyone than rescue animals.
02:35I totally agree.
02:38It's necessary.
02:39That's a good way I agree with you.
02:41Get veterans and we put a bird on their arm and send them for a walk in the park.
02:47Like, could there be eagle wings kind of making the sidecar?
02:50And have the eagle come, the eagle could come in here.
02:53Yeah.
02:53Yeah.
02:53You know?
02:54Mm-hmm.
02:55Yeah, they do not.
02:56Oh, it's a big boy and put it on the table.
02:57Oh, okay.
03:00That's huge.
03:01Okay.
03:02It would be, I mean, you could probably make something cool off the handlebars that bird
03:06could be on the handlebars, you know?
03:07Yeah.
03:08That would be cool.
03:08Make something that it could come off or on, you know?
03:10Mm-hmm.
03:10Something cool, you know?
03:13Yeah, make the bars the perch.
03:14I love that idea.
03:15Or off of the bars, you know, one or two.
03:19Every time I build a bike, it's, you know, I start out in a certain direction, but it
03:22never goes that way.
03:23Of course not.
03:24Change is part of the process.
03:25Yeah.
03:25I know that from you.
03:26Come on.
03:27I'll be on the yard.
03:28You know, you're gonna, and then to pull this, and split the two together.
03:31That's right.
03:31You gotta make sure it's safe for you and the animal, and then whoever else is riding it.
03:35Mm-hmm.
03:35He always does that.
03:35He plays the story really well.
03:37Say hi to Thunder.
03:38Well, I don't know if these guys do.
03:40You know if there's a little one back or not, but...
03:42Hi, good girl.
03:45I think she should go close to Jack and be better.
03:48Yeah.
03:49Can you shut us out?
03:50This is a girl.
03:51Hi, sweet girl.
03:52How are you?
03:53Hi.
03:55So, she's a bird that loves to come close to you and give what we call thunder hugs.
03:59She'll wrap her wing around you for a while.
04:01Oh, that's good.
04:02Paul and Jody and I have so much in common, the way we love the animals.
04:06For me to have this opportunity for him to build a bike for me, I can't wait to see
04:09what he has in store.
04:10I'm excited about it, but I think you'll have a whole lot of things coming together here.
04:15So, you have the love of animals.
04:17Fran rides, so she wants it to be rideable.
04:20I think this bike is going to present some pretty significant challenges, but I'm looking
04:25forward to it.
04:27Bike number five.
04:31So, really the term chopper is really chopping up your bike.
04:35You know, back in the day, people had stock Harleys and, you know, to customize them, you
04:44know, you'd be cutting the necks off or stretching the down tubes or cutting a fender, you know.
04:49And basically, that's what a chopper is.
04:55Today, we're going to continue the Eagle bike.
04:59We left off with the rear fender.
05:02We're putting a tire on here that's not the right tire.
05:04It's a bigger tire in height and width, but the hubs are the same.
05:09So, we're able to line it up with the transmission so that I could adjust the wheel where it's
05:16got to be and mount the fender and also be able to mount the chain.
05:20But we still got the exhaust to do.
05:23We got to mount the gas tank.
05:25The front end's got to be put together and put on.
05:27So, there's quite a bit of work.
05:31I'm bringing in Drew.
05:33There's no shortage of things to do.
05:35So, Casey's been here working on the mural on the wall that Paul commissioned her for.
05:40So, it's great to see the transition of a blank wall coming to a completed thing,
05:45which we're in the middle stages of right now.
05:46The idea is amazing.
05:48What she's painting looks great.
05:49The colors are popping and definitely a representative of Paul and his love of music in the 70s.
05:56So, I think it's going to turn out to be a really piece of artwork.
06:01We built a bar like that over there, right?
06:05Mm-hmm.
06:06And then she made the bird come back like that and it looks like it's almost blowing in the wind.
06:11That looks cool.
06:12It's different than we were thinking.
06:13Really?
06:13We were thinking the feathers built into the frame, but that's cool.
06:16We have to remember we still have to make a perch for the bird, real bird.
06:20We're going to do that off the handlebar.
06:22And I was thinking about that.
06:23You're correct.
06:23That's what we were planning.
06:24But when you tilt the bars like this, the perch isn't going to be straight anymore.
06:29You have to keep the tires straight.
06:31Yes.
06:32Yeah.
06:32Yeah, you'll have to keep the tires straight.
06:33I mean, the bird, yeah.
06:35I mean, that bird could hang any way it wants, but yeah, you would want to keep it straight,
06:39you know?
06:39And she thinks she can knock that out in the time you gave her?
06:42I don't know.
06:44Like, we have to look at what is a perch for an eagle.
06:46Because I looked it up and it was almost like a two-by-four.
06:49And I came across Jen.
06:51We started going back and forth a little bit.
06:54And as we were doing the shows, I couldn't, like, nothing seemed to fit.
07:00We decided this is the perfect time for Jen.
07:03And that's how we brought Jen in, the Eagle Bike.
07:06Yeah.
07:07Is it going to have, like, the wings kind of spreading out and all that?
07:10I think it's going to come.
07:11I think if it looks like that, it'll be cool because it will look like it's...
07:14Flying.
07:15You know, it'll look pretty cool, you know?
07:18Yeah.
07:18All right, let's go.
07:19Let's put the motor in.
07:21Right?
07:22Yep.
07:36Top Courage
08:10Hey, day three or four, working on the Eagle bike.
08:12Things went pretty well today.
08:14Drew came in.
08:15He's been helping us with the rear fender and the struts, and he's now working on the exhaust.
08:19I think it's going well.
08:20No hiccups yet.
08:22Tomorrow, we're going to take the fender off, bring it over to Anthony, who's going to work
08:25on a perch we're doing for a special piece of metal art that's going on the back of it.
08:30I think we'll get this one done, at least fabrication on time.
08:33That way, we can get it out to paint and powder coat and move on to the next one.
08:36What are you, executive delegate?
08:38Executive delegate.
08:39Or ED.
08:40The ED.
08:41Mike is the ED now.
08:46So, we decided to come over to Anthony's this morning because he's got the equipment that
08:52we need to complete the rear fender, and he doesn't know it, but I'm going to have him
08:57do a couple other things while we're here.
08:59But, yeah, so we're going to just grab a hold of the fender and a few other things and go
09:06over it with Anthony and start rolling the perch, I guess you'd call it perch, for the rear
09:09fender, and go from there.
09:12That'll look cool.
09:13Yeah, that's perfect.
09:35Pretty much straight from there, and then I could cut wherever I want here.
09:40You've done it again, Anthony.
09:42We love you.
09:43Okay.
09:44I'll get you one for Christmas.
09:46Okay.
09:46There you go.
09:47I've made it your birthday.
09:47Okay.
09:48Paul bought me a fender, and then we ended up cutting a piece of inch and a quarter.
09:52We ring rolled it, capped the ends, and then mounted it to the fender.
09:57And then from there, we made some handlebars real quick.
10:00We bent them in our mandrel bender, and then made a simple drag bar so when he gets back
10:05to the shop, he can fit it all together and go from there.
10:09The piece turned out good.
10:10It's exactly what we wanted.
10:11It really helps keep us ahead of the game, because if we had to do it, it would take forever.
10:15Now back to the shop so I can yell at Drew a little bit to get these bars and everything
10:21finished.
10:23Did you get it?
10:24Yeah, I got it.
10:25Yeah, we'll have to get it.
10:27I don't know.
10:28All right.
10:28Yeah.
10:29I think you'll be fine there, right?
10:30Mm-hmm.
10:32All right.
10:32Take the fender roll.
10:34All right.
10:35Yeah.
10:35Yeah.
10:36I was just thinking we got to, um...
10:38Bend that a little more.
10:39Bend that more.
10:41Cook...
10:42Go in the store and cut that right off.
10:44Over there.
10:45The what?
10:46The starpee?
10:47Yeah.
10:48What, did it just explode?
10:50I hope so.
10:57Watch out.
10:58Get it where you want it.
10:58You got it?
11:00You got it?
11:03I've never seen that before, man.
11:05That's funny.
11:06I guess I learn new stuff every day.
11:08I don't know if this is going to work or not.
11:10Well, it's a one-time only, uh, Sharpie, though.
11:13It's a one-time only.
11:14Today and today only.
11:17Does it look like I got it?
11:20Yeah?
11:22That'll work.
11:25Yeah, I'm all like, oh, we got to take...
11:26We got to cut the tacks off.
11:28Yeah, you're fucking cutting everything.
11:29We drill it out.
11:32Like, nah, we'll just make a new Sharpie.
11:35Lucky thing I thought about putting that fender on first.
11:38Oh, what happened?
11:39It's way too forward.
11:42I don't know how it happened.
11:43What the...
11:43Oh, yeah, the post for it's, like, right here.
11:46Yeah.
11:47So we're kicking it up like that.
11:50Because it was like it would have been in your back.
11:53Yeah.
11:54That's what...
11:54So we're just jumping a hole.
11:56Like, reusing this hole.
11:59And going to put one over here.
12:01Oh, good deal.
12:02Everything's ready to get prepped.
12:03He's shooting everything tonight.
12:05As soon as Drew has a second and fills that hole,
12:08I'll bring that back over to him.
12:09We'll have that all tomorrow.
12:11I drew a line on there
12:12where I thought that perch should have been.
12:14I don't know whether we just moved it up further or whatever,
12:18but it's in a wrong spot.
12:20So what we're just gonna do
12:21is we're gonna shift it back a hole.
12:24And that seems to work.
12:26I had to make a little special tool for that.
12:28We had to waste one of our Sharpies,
12:31but we were able to get in there,
12:34make enough circle in there
12:35to get the center and center punch it, so...
12:38Well, this is a custom shop.
12:39Yeah.
12:39You gotta have a custom shop.
12:41Everything's a one-off in here.
12:42Yeah.
12:43Right, Kim?
12:43Not like we don't leave them
12:44sitting around with the caps off every day,
12:46so we have to throw them out tomorrow.
12:47Exactly, yeah.
13:04My boy over there is finishing up the handlebars.
13:08So I think that when the trees come in,
13:10we'll mount that stuff,
13:11get the front end lined up,
13:13put the brakes on,
13:14and all that kind of stuff.
13:15We gotta mount the seat.
13:16We still gotta mount the gas tank.
13:19But hopefully,
13:20we pretty much have to get it done today
13:22to really start the next project.
13:25Christian will be in tomorrow,
13:27and so will Mikey.
13:29So that'll be a huge help.
13:41All right, what do you got going on over here, Slick?
13:44I'm just gonna tack this together.
13:46Huh?
13:46See what you think about the width of the bars.
13:50It's looking pretty cool.
13:53I think it's still wide, don't you?
13:55Yeah, I think it's a little wide.
13:57Plus, Fran's gonna be riding it, right?
13:58Yeah.
13:59So probably, I would go a little bit narrow.
14:01Take an inch off of this.
14:02Yeah.
14:03Can you?
14:03And still be...
14:04Yeah.
14:08Yeah, I found this under the table
14:10so you can set the angle that you want.
14:12So I set it at 30 degrees
14:14to match the rake of the frame.
14:18So, yeah, that kind of worked out.
14:19I didn't have to make anything.
14:21I wish I'd have known about that weeks ago,
14:23to be honest with you.
14:24That would've helped me out.
14:48I think Drew's almost done with the bars.
14:51Gonna put the front end together, line all that up.
14:55The rear tire, the right rear tire,
14:58we gotta put the spacers and caliper,
15:00the seat pan,
15:01and we're pretty much ready to go.
15:04So unless something else comes up,
15:06I think we're still kind of pretty much on target.
15:19Yeah.
15:21It's a good height, Drew.
15:22Drinking it.
15:23Sleep.
15:25Yeah, so I think we had a pretty good day today.
15:28This pan's taking a little bit longer than I expected.
15:32But yeah, tomorrow, probably a couple hours tomorrow,
15:35we'll break it down, send it out,
15:37and, you know, for powder coat and stuff.
15:39So, yeah, so we'll finish it up tomorrow.
15:43Can we call you Drew?
15:44Are we your friends?
15:46Yeah.
15:47I thought we were, I thought we've been friends.
15:49Oh.
15:50Kind of like...
15:53Depends on the day, bro.
15:54Hey, the first year I worked for him,
15:56I don't think he knew my first name.
15:58Yeah, you're lucky.
15:59It was that Air Force guy.
16:00That Air Force guy.
16:01Yeah.
16:14So I realized that I'm cursing too much.
16:18Yeah?
16:19Yeah.
16:20Right.
16:20You know what I mean?
16:21So watch your mouth, all right?
16:37So that's the way that seat's going, right?
16:40Yeah.
16:41Pretty cool.
16:42It is.
16:43I want to sit on it.
16:45Let's do it.
16:46You can do it now.
16:49Yeah, I like the way the seat came out.
16:50I was actually...
16:51Yeah, it's a cool setup.
16:54Who thought of that?
16:55I'm taking credit for it.
16:57I would have thought of that.
17:00I'm good, bro?
17:01Yeah, it should be enough.
17:02I think for her or whoever, it's probably going to be perfect, you know?
17:09You know what I mean?
17:11I mean, I can ride it like this, no problem, but...
17:14Yeah, it looks like it'd be a comfortable ride like that.
17:16Yeah.
17:17All right.
17:17We got everything mocked up.
17:19The front end was mocked up.
17:20The seat's done.
17:22Pretty much everything's done, so we're taking the part,
17:24and we're going to send it out to paint and powder coat.
17:29We have Mikey here.
17:31Probably one of the bigger reasons why we're at this point now,
17:37because he has a new title now.
17:41Executive...
17:41What are you...
17:41Executive Delegate?
17:43Executive Delegator.
17:44Or ED.
17:45The ED.
17:47Executive...
17:47I'm the ED.
17:49Mikey's the ED now.
17:50So that would be a title title.
17:51What we're going to do is we're going to take this off, separate everything,
17:55and then by noon we'll have the second project up on the left,
17:59and we'll get going on that.
18:08Today I got a new title.
18:10I'm no longer just the Delegator.
18:12I'm the, uh...
18:13What is it?
18:14Executive.
18:15Executive Delegator.
18:16The ED.
18:19Which, you know, is a common term for erectile dysfunction.
18:23So, no matter what kind of rank you gain, you know,
18:28you're always the butt of the joke.
18:31Veins doing it for...
18:33Look at the veins popping, bro.
18:34For like 45 years now.
18:36Pretty consistent, you know?
18:41The old Murphy performance is a gym that I, uh, stop by every once in a while.
18:46How are you?
18:47I'm all right.
18:48I got a, uh, looking for Mike and Keith.
18:50Mike and Keith.
18:51Okay, awesome.
18:52I'll take you over.
18:53They're working out in the corner.
18:58Big Paul.
18:59What's up, bro?
19:00Hey, man, we're all, uh...
19:02We're all warmed up to do some legs.
19:04I don't know if you want to hop in with us and do some legs with us.
19:07No legs.
19:08No?
19:08Bison tries today.
19:09Okay.
19:10Yeah.
19:10All right, we'll switch up.
19:11We'll join you.
19:12How are you?
19:13Bison tries?
19:13Yeah.
19:14Right here?
19:16They asked me to come in and work out with them.
19:18You know, it was bicep, tricep day for me.
19:21Uh, they would have killed me in any other area.
19:27It never goes away.
19:28Look at those veins.
19:29I've been doing it for...
19:30Look at those veins popping, bro.
19:31For like 45 years now.
19:34Pretty consistent, you know?
19:35Yeah.
19:47I met, uh, Keith and Mike.
19:49You know, they asked if I came down here and have a little workout with those guys.
19:53It fits into my schedule, um, what I would do in my regular gym today.
19:57I got, I got a little pumped there and, uh, it was, uh, really enjoyable working out with
20:02those two guys.
20:03Workout with Paul was, senior, was, uh, unbelievable.
20:07Came in and notched it and said, let's do, uh, let's do guns.
20:10And I'm like, all right, that's cool with me.
20:12And I'm just, uh, I'm happy to be a part of it and I'm honored to be here and, uh,
20:15get a
20:16workout in with Paul.
20:18And it was beautiful working with Paul.
20:20You know what I mean?
20:21He's a living legend.
20:22But it was great to get in here and to load up these guns.
20:26You guys gotta watch out.
20:28Cause we already know he's got a lot more beautiful work coming your way.
20:33You know, those guys are always giving back.
20:36Uh, great guys.
20:37Great gym.
20:38And, uh, yeah, I had a good time.
20:43My name is Jen Lurie.
20:46When I graduated high school, I went and got my welding ticket.
20:49Um, when I had my daughter, I bought a little, little welder and I started just making, you
20:57know, whatever would come to mind.
20:58I started welding in our single car garage at home.
21:06Hey guys.
21:07Hey class.
21:10Swinger bearing.
21:11Install.
21:12Yeah, it's, it's been kind of a trip coming back here working on choppers again, putting
21:17bikes together.
21:18Um, especially working with Paul.
21:20And I know, I've known Jim for a lot of years too.
21:22Um, and Mikey, of course, and Joan.
21:25I blew my fingers off.
21:27It kind of looked like, you know, when you're done with the roll of toilet paper, the
21:31tube.
21:32It was, it was that size.
21:37I'm gonna put the motor in.
21:39Cause that's gonna keep it from tilting what you put the front end on it.
21:42Yeah.
21:42I'm, I'm all about that.
21:44Otherwise it's gonna tilt every time we do something on the front.
21:46I'm all about it.
21:48Wheel are over here, Jim.
21:51That's, that's, add a little more.
21:53Down?
21:54Yeah, a little bit.
21:56That should be good.
22:00Give it a bear hug, Jim.
22:02I got this.
22:03Give it a pepper.
22:06Oh man, you gonna put this in first on these ones?
22:08Yeah, because you gotta be able to put, you hold it up there and put this in.
22:13Right, am I being dumb?
22:14Now you're gonna have to knock that bearing out.
22:15Hold on, am I being dumb?
22:18I'm not, right?
22:19Not at all.
22:22Why is it that we're always looking for something?
22:25I don't know.
22:26Huh?
22:27I don't know.
22:27Jim?
22:28I don't know.
22:30Maybe you could answer that question.
22:32Keep looking for love in all the wrong places.
22:34Yeah.
22:34How much space you got?
22:36I'm up front.
22:38Between the bearing and the, I'm on it.
22:41All right, these go in between them.
22:43Do you have a hold of this for a second?
22:45Yep.
22:49You're saying that this don't have enough?
22:51I'm, do you, I, I'm calling you a liar.
22:53What, did you switch the bolts since I said that?
22:55I didn't, no, I didn't switch anything.
22:57It was only hanging out, like, not even a quarter inch.
23:00You don't know what you're talking about.
23:01That's the problem.
23:03You're the one who said, and I quote,
23:05That's the problem.
23:06There's two threads, that's enough.
23:07Oh, we're almost there, Jim.
23:08We're rockin', we're rockin'.
23:22So SMT sent us some really nice rims.
23:25Uh, these are gonna look awesome.
23:27Nice chrome.
23:28Got a nice design to it.
23:30They match everything.
23:31They put the hubs on that we asked for,
23:33so they do a really good job.
23:34Uh, they get them to us quick with our short, uh,
23:37cut-offs and deadlines.
23:38They're still able to meet our needs.
23:40Um, and they're just great.
23:42Their customer service is awesome when we call them.
23:44Uh, they ship them out as soon as they get them done,
23:46and, uh, yeah, we're super happy with them.
23:49Their hardware is nice, you know?
23:50The mounting hardware on the, on the, on the sprocket,
23:54and, you know what I mean?
23:56They use 12-point bolts for them.
23:58Yeah.
23:58The front.
23:59The chrome is just phenomenal,
24:01and so is their powder coating.
24:06Pull it up and push the whole mechanism forward while you're...
24:15Hey!
24:17Oh, we got a, y'all, uh,
24:20fix the face here.
24:21How you making out?
24:22That's good!
24:23Good, good.
24:24Still working.
24:25Still working.
24:26I'm sure you are too, right?
24:28Oh, yeah.
24:29Yeah, I pulled a 21-hour day yesterday.
24:32Oh, my God.
24:34I can't do, I can't do the 21-hour days anymore.
24:38Do you want to see the eagle?
24:39I want to see the eagle.
24:41It's coming along now.
24:43What do you think?
24:44I think it's crazy looking.
24:46Oh, .
24:47Again?
24:48Yeah, it's wild.
24:49So what, what else you gotta do to it?
24:52Well, I need some feathers.
24:53Yeah.
24:53Last night.
24:55Put some feathers on that bird.
24:56What's naked?
24:57I know.
24:58So I'm gonna detail all these individually.
25:02These smaller ones.
25:04How'd you cut, what, how'd you cut them?
25:06All by hand.
25:07Did you really?
25:08I did.
25:09Well, my CNC is, uh, not in this shop.
25:12What's our plan?
25:14So I'm gonna finish putting all the feathers on today.
25:17I'll probably be pretty close by tonight to finishing this.
25:22And then tomorrow morning, I'm just gonna spend the morning just doing the little details.
25:28Uh, but I'll be done by tomorrow afternoon.
25:30Um, so you'll be here when?
25:32We're gonna fly up Friday night.
25:34All right, guys.
25:34Have a good night, all right?
25:36Bye, Paul.
25:37Yeah, so we're gonna wrap it up now.
25:39Um, we probably started on this around 2 o'clock or something like that this afternoon.
25:45But we did it good.
25:46We got the whole roller, roller together.
25:48Uh, the rear brake, uh, calipers are on.
25:51Everything's, uh, all the, all the axle spacers are on.
25:54Everything's centered out.
25:55We have the front brake on.
25:56The full front end on there, uh, we got the motor in.
25:59Uh, which I think that we, we didn't really have a lot of problems.
26:04Uh, of course we had the tire off and on a few times, but that's just par for the course.
26:09Uh, so tomorrow we'll get back on it.
26:12Uh, Christian's gonna be wiring.
26:14Uh, we'll probably be working on either putting the, the primary together or putting a chain on.
26:20Um, and, uh, we're waiting on the bird.
26:26Yeah, so I got in a little early today for a change.
26:29Uh, and Christian was already working on the wiring on the bike.
26:32We found like one issue.
26:34We had to open up the holes a little bit on the, on the motor mounts.
26:37So that's done.
26:38So we're gonna put the trans in now, try to line up, see how the primary lines up and,
26:42uh, get the chain on there and then go from there.
26:44I mean, if we get a good day in today, we could probably be almost finished.
26:51This is red.
26:53These are orange.
26:54Definitely.
26:55It's a different.
27:00Look at the difference.
27:01You can see it before even unwrapping it.
27:03I can see, I can see where too much red was, uh,
27:06uh, for the primary stuff.
27:08So we've been working with talent and the people from CQ for a couple of months now.
27:12Uh, they're right up the road.
27:13They're really great people.
27:13And they turn the stuff around for us really quick.
27:16Uh, we bring them a lot of stuff last minute and, uh, they don't hesitate or struggle to get it
27:20done and back to us.
27:21So I'm just here for a couple of days.
27:23Got to head back to New York.
27:24Um, but I got going on the wiring on, uh, Fran's Eagle bike.
27:29Um, just got everything as much as I could.
27:31Everything pretty much where just the ends had to be, you know, connected.
27:35Soldered finished.
27:37Um, so I kind of left my drew a diagram and hope for the best.
27:41Fingers crossed.
27:42I told them they could call me though.
27:43Yeah.
27:44So, um, it was kind of a crazy day today.
27:46You know, the powder coater, which probably we should have told him, but he powder coated where the controls go
27:52on there.
27:52And we had to sand all that down, which is kind of a pain, yes.
27:57Um, where I thought that the taillight, uh, bracket was going to be and, and, and still look all right.
28:05Doesn't look good at all.
28:06Uh, and of course the bike is painted, so you can't really weld any, any tabs on there.
28:12So I don't know, you know, tomorrow's another day.
28:15Uh, I did figure that would be a little bit further ahead than we are now.
28:20Uh, and then, you know, even tomorrow, there's certain things that, um, that we're going to have to figure out
28:25to make work.
28:27I guess, you know, it's probably time to walk away and, uh, get a fresh start tomorrow.
28:33And kind of like all the way through the whole build, there was just issues.
28:51Eagle has landed.
28:52You got, wow.
28:54Holy .
28:55Put it on the table over there.
28:56I want to get a better look up.
28:57We had the driver waiting outside the shop.
28:59And I'm, I know in my head now, it's coming to terms with the fact that there is no way
29:05this is getting done.
29:07Called Jim up.
29:08They still needed the fender on Friday.
29:11So then we, we got together, figured out a new plan.
29:15And I ended up bringing the half done piece up here.
29:18The, uh, like the color.
29:19I like it.
29:20I like it a lot.
29:21Yeah, I was going to do.
29:22Where's the bar?
29:23So there's one.
29:24And then it's going to have claws.
29:25And I have the bar.
29:26I have the bar here.
29:27That mounts to the fender.
29:28Yes, sir.
29:29And that goes.
29:30So I have claws.
29:31They're already welded and sculpted.
29:33So I'm going to weld the claws on.
29:35We'll mount it to the bar.
29:37I thought if we could bolt the bar onto the fender.
29:40I got to be honest with you.
29:41Yeah.
29:42This bird looks ten times bigger on the pictures.
29:46Yeah.
29:46I was like, holy .
29:48We're going to have to go on a wide lane highway.
29:52Something like that.
29:52Yeah.
29:53That's crazy.
29:53That's crazy, man.
29:55But it's going to be up on the...
29:56Something beyond my realm.
29:57Like I, you know, as a, you know, she's an artist.
30:00And to see it, you know, in person, it's really impressive.
30:04Like her skill.
30:05It's sitting more or less like that, but it'll connect to this, right?
30:09Well, the bar is mounted on that plate, right?
30:11It goes up and sits across.
30:12And then the talons are like grabbing onto her like we talked about.
30:16Jen probably spent almost 24 hours a day for five days to get it done.
30:22Uh, that says a lot about someone.
30:32Start with the head, build the frame, and now we're just covering it all with feathers.
30:38So, we've been cutting feathers for the past four days straight.
30:4420, 21 hour days.
30:46Because you can cut them, but then we got to clean them all.
30:48And then, you know, I got to detail them a little bit.
30:52So, it's all a process, but we are so close.
30:57Listen, I think it's a great opportunity.
31:00It's a great opportunity to bring people in that are such talented
31:04to give them the opportunity that I had.
31:08Um, and, and the recognition that they deserve.
31:12So, we just got done with the day.
31:13It's been a very busy day.
31:15There was a lot going on outside the shop,
31:16but a lot going on inside the shop.
31:18Started working on the bike this morning.
31:19It was moving along great.
31:20And Jen showed up with Shawn.
31:23Start working on artwork for this.
31:25I was planning to have this done at my shop the day before.
31:29We're going to pull a light one tonight
31:31and get this thing all ready for tomorrow.
31:38I'm good.
31:40Hi, Mike.
31:40Hey, Paul.
31:41Hi, buddy. How was your flight?
31:43Next time you fly in, you could fly...
31:46Well, Eagle Air. Look at this thing.
31:47Eagle Air, brother.
31:49Let's take it off and we got to bring it to Anthony's.
31:51Oh, got it?
31:53Yeah.
31:53You can put it right here.
31:55Let me go back in and get everything ready.
31:59I didn't expect the bird to be so heavy.
32:01I thought it would be like 15 pounds.
32:02It was more like 50.
32:04And I was going to put it up like a parrot or something
32:07and choke around, but it's a little too heavy
32:09and it's a little too early.
32:25Parts are missing again.
32:27Just the sprocket we need for the transmission to button up the whole primary.
32:32But Mikey Tuttle was here today, made his presence.
32:36So that's always a morale booster.
32:38We got another bike we got to put up on the lift this week
32:42and finish this up.
32:43So that's about where we're at.
32:50How's it going in here?
32:51It is going fantabulous.
32:53Are your chains still real tight?
32:56It's probably just about where it should be.
33:01That's the way it's supposed to be.
33:04Oh, Mike, use the brake.
33:06What are you doing?
33:06Oh, sorry.
33:09You know where you are.
33:10Shut up.
33:12All right, all right.
33:13Okay?
33:13Yeah.
33:14We got it.
33:14We already checked it.
33:15Gemini.
33:17Gemini?
33:17The Gemini.
33:18All right.
33:20We had it together with the primary on, I believe.
33:23Did you ream out the transmission or just the motor?
33:27It's running crooked.
33:29You all right?
33:29You look a little tired.
33:30You're waiting for that coffee, right?
33:31You're perky right up there?
33:32Perky right over there?
33:33You think you're a little perky?
33:35Yeah, when I leave here, I do worry that, you know,
33:38there's going to be nobody delegating.
33:39My father's a bit aloof, and I think everybody else who works for him
33:43wants to kill him.
33:45So I'm sort of like the bridge, you know?
33:46The ladder there.
33:48I imagine the place is probably going to go to hell without me.
33:53Well, Paul's kind of like me.
33:55He don't have much to say.
33:56I don't like to talk too much.
33:58We get along.
33:59We don't have to have a conversation.
34:00We can just do what we got to do and get it done.
34:04Yeah, I think what we're going to do today is we got to get these struts
34:08sent back to Anthony.
34:09He's going to clean them up.
34:10We got to get him back to the powder coater.
34:12Al's got to finish the wiring.
34:13I got to put the cables on.
34:16The oil lines got to go on.
34:17The front brake got to be wet.
34:19If things go smooth, we should be able to accomplish all that stuff.
34:32So Jim from Jim's just-in-time leather is a seat.
34:35It's a different color leather than we usually use.
34:37We're usually dark.
34:38Paul wanted something tan to go with the candy red.
34:41And it looks great.
34:48My suggestion would be, let's get the cables on here and bring that over to the powder
34:53coater.
34:54Let him do that in red, too.
34:56And he's going to have-
34:57Well, let me do it now, because if he's spraying those-
35:00Yeah, I mean, we don't need it now, right?
35:01No, but he has to empty the gun and clean the system every time he changes colors.
35:05Right?
35:05It will look much better.
35:07It'll blend, but it's much better, right?
35:09A lot of f***ing wires, Al.
35:11Yeah, f***ing pay the f***, huh?
35:13Gee, pay the f***.
35:14Christian was in before me, and he did half of it, and I came in and finished it up.
35:20You know, it's a little tough when somebody starts something and you've got to pick up afterwards.
35:32Yeah, I've known Alan for a bunch of years now.
35:35He spent a lot of time at OCC.
35:37Take his, you know, his shirt off his back for you kind of guy.
35:40And just, like, no nonsense.
35:42Let's work.
35:43Let's get this done.
35:44Whatever it is, I'll stay here until 4 in the morning.
35:47I don't care kind of guy.
35:48A lot of wiring.
35:50You know, it's a bike that somebody's going to ride.
35:52So you've got, you know, you've got your blinkers.
35:54You've got your horn.
35:55You've got everything that a regular bike would have.
35:57Not a cut-up chopper where you're only running a headlight with, you know, two wires.
36:07So hiding it all in the headlight, small headlight, Paul wanted the small headlight.
36:10So it was tough stuff and all that in there, ten pounds in a five-pound box.
36:15So it all worked out in the end.
36:16And kind of like all the way through the whole build, there was just issues.
36:22Issue after issue that we had to deal with.
36:26But you know what?
36:27We dealt with them one at a time.
36:30You know, everybody, everybody was in the game.
36:33And we dealt with them all and, you know, we fixed it and finished it.
36:40It took me a while to figure out what to do here, you know.
36:42This is gorgeous.
36:43This is our bike.
36:47We're going to unveil the bird bike, take it out for a test ride just to see how it is.
36:51And then we're going to get it loaded up and it should be a good day.
36:57You pulled it off.
36:58Well, we'll see.
36:59That looks real good.
37:00That's good.
37:01Yeah.
37:01Yeah, you won't notice the difference.
37:03That's good.
37:04Not at all.
37:05Yeah.
37:05Good deal.
37:06Oh, that looks sharp.
37:07Like right here.
37:08That's very close to the frame, too.
37:10No, you did a good job.
37:11I love the color.
37:17You could never go wrong with Candy Apple Red, man.
37:20That's sharp.
37:21Well, let's take this off of here and see what it does.
37:30So all the issues, all the hard work, bike fired right up, took it out for a little ride,
37:36brakes were perfect, clutch was perfect, loaded it on the trailer, and we're on our way over
37:41there.
37:42It ran perfect, started right up, sounds great, looks amazing.
37:46So we're going to get it on the trailer, head on over, and we're going to have an amazing
37:50reveal, and I think it's going to be another OCC grade.
37:55You could not have asked for a better reveal than the reveal at Fran's because the energy that Fran has,
38:05and it's contagious to everyone around her.
38:07Fran, and all that she does in this community, that this many people would come out.
38:13And I think we all know that Fran is amazing in her support of veterans and animals, and I can't
38:21think of two better things to support.
38:28Oh!
38:31Oh my god!
38:33Oh my god!
38:36Oh my god!
38:40Oh my god!
38:44Don't make me cry.
38:46Oh, jeez.
38:47So Paul's going to tell you about the bank?
38:49So, you know, first of all, we love this lady. Everybody loves her, everybody evidently does, yeah.
38:58So when she asked us to do this bike, it was kind of like, I couldn't really, it took me
39:05a while to figure out what to do here, you know.
39:07This is gorgeous. This is our bike, because this is our biker community. We've been doing this together since we
39:13started, and I'm grateful for all of you coming out here today.
39:16This is incredible turnout. You, Paul, and Joni, and Jim, and your entire crew, you guys are amazing. Your production
39:24crew has been wonderful. We've had a really great time doing this.
39:28Unbelievable. Like, surpassed what I thought it would be. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect. I started hearing about
39:34the metalwork, everything else was going to go into it, but the perch on the rear, it's awesome. It's an
39:41amazing bike.
39:42I feel like I'm living the American dream. I can't believe that I'm sitting here today with this gorgeous bike,
39:47my favorite color. This is amazing. The eagle can perch up here.
39:50So you're going to see me at all the events. You're going to see this bike a lot. Thank you,
39:54Paul. It's absolutely beautiful. I love it.
39:56She does a lot for the community, and pretty much everywhere, the veterans especially. It's pretty cool driving in with
40:05the bird. It's something that's very, very different, and it took a while to get the creative juices going to
40:12do something like that.
40:14So, yeah, and I'm glad I do it, and I thank Jen. Jen really pulled it off.
40:19You know, she does so much for the community, not just the motorcycle community, the animal community, the veterans. I
40:25mean, she just never stops giving. The whole crowd seemed to really appreciate the artwork on the bike. So, can't
40:33ask for any more than today.
40:34I am so proud to play a senior and the entire Orange County Chopper crew that all these years later,
40:40they're still pumping out awesome bikes. Like, how many different twists can you make on a motorcycle?
40:45I thought they did it all, and then I see this one, and I say, oh, there's something new. So,
40:49really happy for Paul and really happy for the Fran Hosh Law Group, because they are great people and very
40:54deserving.
40:54So, the job that you guys did with Orange County Chopper is put this bike together, and specifically for this
41:02person who loves motorcycles, but she loves serving our veterans, she loves serving our community, and this bike tells the
41:11story. I mean, the custom eagle on the back was a chef's kiss.
41:14I used to ride, and I would kill her for a bike that nice. That is just gorgeous. She is
41:22unbelievable. And that sculpture, holy, well, I can't see that. Sorry.
41:30Thank you, OCC! Thank you, OCC!
