00:41Oh man, Sony è great.
00:42I mean, they give us a lot of rope
00:46to just try out weird things.
00:48I mean, I think that's the best part
00:50about working at Sucker Punch
00:51is just exploring gameplay
00:53and following the fun.
00:55So, I can't imagine a better publisher, really.
00:58Cool, and one of the things you mentioned
00:59in the presentation,
01:00or the tagline for the advert,
01:02enjoy your power.
01:03That seems to be like a key vibe in Infamous.
01:06You don't want people to feel a bit down
01:08about their powers like superheroes often,
01:09but you just want them to go out there
01:11and blow stuff up.
01:12Well, come on, man.
01:14It's a game about powers.
01:16That's what people are going to play it for,
01:18is to be in that open world
01:20and jumping across buildings.
01:23Just revel in it.
01:24Revel in the powers.
01:25And I was playing the demo quite extensively, actually,
01:27and one of the things I instantly felt
01:29was very empowered and how I could,
01:31especially when you get the neon powers,
01:32you can just jump over buildings.
01:33You were mentioning as well
01:34that you've got different powers.
01:36I know you can't reveal some of the other ones,
01:38but you've got neon for traversing really quickly.
01:40Smoke is good for combat.
01:42So they're not just kind of like different flavors
01:45of the same thing.
01:46There's a big tactical advantage
01:48to using a certain power at a certain time.
01:51Yeah, they kind of take on different gameplay roles.
01:53So like you said, smoke's good for close in combat,
01:56and if you're kind of a chicken like myself,
01:59you will hang back with neon and snipe people.
02:01and the other powers you get along the way
02:04fill in different kind of play styles.
02:06Sure.
02:07On top of that, if you play as a hero,
02:10we kind of reward you for being really thoughtful
02:14and not hurting anybody.
02:15And if you're evil,
02:16we really force you to be a bigger, badder monster.
02:20And those play styles are also very different.
02:22You know, you really haven't played the game
02:24until you've gone through twice.
02:26And that choice is like a key thing in Infamous.
02:28You were saying in the presentation
02:29how overwhelmingly at the end of Infamous 2,
02:32lots of people opted to sacrifice Cole.
02:35Yeah.
02:35What was your reaction to that?
02:37And you said it also shaped
02:38how the future of the series has gone on from there.
02:41Like if people had chosen to keep Cole,
02:43would we be seeing Cole now instead of Delsin Rowe?
02:45I mean...
02:46Yes.
02:46So I wrote the evil ending of Infamous 2,
02:49hoping that would be the end of the game.
02:50That was the ending you wanted to have, the evil.
02:51Yeah, man.
02:52He was alive.
02:53I like Cole.
02:54I like his powers.
02:56But players chose to let him die.
02:59And because it's a franchise about choice and consequence,
03:03we said the players have voted.
03:05Let's just make this happen.
03:07And in the end, I'm happy about it
03:09because we got an all-new hero, Delsin.
03:12New origin story, new powers, new city.
03:14It's a really good time for people
03:16who have never played Infamous to get in.
03:18They'll be fine.
03:20They'll pick up the story.
03:21Cole's dead.
03:22If you did play the previous two games,
03:24there'll be a lot of stuff that you'll pick up on
03:26that other people won't,
03:27but really, it's a great entry into Infamous.
03:30Of course, it looks amazing as well on PS4.
03:32You mentioned all the kind of things you're able to do
03:33with the city and the DualShock 4.
03:35The DualShock 4 in particular,
03:37there's quite a lot of cool things you can do,
03:39like I was doing security scans,
03:41like putting your finger on it.
03:42It really kind of makes you feel like you're
03:44taking part in the game a lot more
03:46than just pressing a button on a controller.
03:47What other cool stuff have you been able to do
03:49with the controller?
03:50Well, all right, so there's the obvious.
03:52As a gamer, the most important thing
03:54is that those thumbsticks and triggers
03:56are so much better, right?
03:58So aiming and blasting feels better.
04:01The touchpad lets us do kind of like
04:03big physical acts,
04:04like ripping off a door from a cage.
04:07The player's arm kind of does that
04:09when they swipe so you feel like you're there.
04:11But I'll tell you,
04:12the thing that I am kind of the most into
04:14is the speaker.
04:16Yeah.
04:16I mean, having the game come through
04:19and then sort of be right there in your hands,
04:22it's subtle, but I really love it.
04:25You guys have got Seattle as your open world setting.
04:28Obviously, you guys, you live there,
04:30you know the city well.
04:30What do you think makes Seattle
04:32a really good open world playground
04:34in which to just blow stuff up with superpowers?
04:37Well, Seattle's good for a couple reasons.
04:39For me, I think it's really moody.
04:43Yeah.
04:44I mean, the rain sweeps in over the sound
04:46and just makes everything shiny wet
04:48and there's reflective puddles everywhere.
04:50So it looks gorgeous and it looks somber.
04:53Yeah.
04:54On top of that, the architecture's really varied.
04:56So you get a lot of places to hide things
04:59and places to explore
05:02with just different kind of surfaces to scramble up.
05:05In Infamous, it's an open world game
05:07where anything you see you can get on top of.
05:10I mean, Delson's powers are great for moving around
05:13and also just his rock climbing abilities are still there.
05:17I think people are going to love
05:19just kind of finding their way through Seattle.
05:23What does this mean?
05:24Am I pushing grass aside?
05:26I just did that naturally.
05:27Do you do that when you explore?
05:30What's your hand motion for explore?
05:32Yeah, you're right.
05:33That's how he does it.
05:33Jet engines coming out, guys.
05:36I'm exploring!
05:37Well, thank you so much for talking to us.
05:38Yeah, man.
05:39Thank you for your time.
05:39Infamous is looking absolutely amazing.
05:41It's coming out on PS4 on March the 21st.
05:43If you want to see that
05:44and loads of other videos on everything PlayStation,
05:46don't forget to subscribe.
06:04Thank you so much for watching.
