00:03The October update is rolling out now on Xbox Live
00:06and as always, I thought I'd like to take a moment
00:09and share with you some of the features coming to your Xbox One console.
00:13First on the list are the new controls for Snap Center,
00:16which allow for faster, simpler navigation when using Snap.
00:20If the reaction I'm seeing online is any indication,
00:23it's been enormously popular in the preview community
00:25and now everyone will have access to it.
00:27If you double tap the Xbox button,
00:30you can quickly choose to snap an app, unsnap,
00:33go immediately back to the last app you had snapped,
00:36or return to control your game.
00:41You can also tap X when this menu is up
00:43to record the last 30 seconds of gameplay.
00:46I am thrilled that the new Snap features are finally available to everyone
00:50and I hope you'll find them as useful as I do.
00:53Next up, we've made a few adjustments to achievements.
00:55When you share an achievement, you can now do so with a caption.
01:04You'll also notice that when you're looking at a specific achievement full screen,
01:08you can see which of your friends have recently unlocked it.
01:12The new friends section is now available to everyone as well.
01:16You can now see at a glance what your friends are doing,
01:19which games are most popular with your friends,
01:21and, my favorite, the GamerScore leaderboard,
01:25which shows you how you stack up against your friends in GamerScore over the last month.
01:29I'm also pleased to share that the October update
01:32brings a couple of highly requested features to the Media Player app.
01:36Streaming media from DLNA Server is now supported.
01:40We've also added support for MKV playback over both USB and DLNA.
01:45Now, these were hot items on our user feedback site,
01:48and I know the team is excited to bring these updates to the entire Xbox Live community.
01:52For markets where one guide is available, which now includes 11 new countries in the October update,
01:59we're adding the TV mini guide.
02:01This allows you to bring up a mini guide,
02:03and lets you quickly see info about what you're watching,
02:06switch quickly to a recently viewed channel, and more.
02:09You can also now set your Xbox One to immediately go to TV when you power it on.
02:14You'll find this option in the power and startup settings.
02:18That's a quick look at the October update, which is now rolling out.
