00:00Hi, it's Larry here of Xbox Live's Major Nelson.
00:02We designed Xbox One to be your Xbox One.
00:05I'm here with Emily and Zach from the Xbox team
00:07and they're going to tell us exactly what that means.
00:10Let's talk about what is going to happen the first day
00:12when I open up my Xbox One and I want to play a game.
00:14Walk me through that experience.
00:16After setting up your Xbox One, you can decide to play content,
00:20you can play games, you can play movies.
00:21You can download that game that just came out at 11pm
00:24without having to run to the store.
00:26Or you can go to the store and have the experience
00:28that you're used to where you buy discs
00:30and then that disc belongs to you
00:31and you can sell it to a friend later or to a game store.
00:34So really, it's about your choice.
00:36Now, if you buy them digitally,
00:37you can also start playing your games as they download, right?
00:40Yeah, that's right.
00:41As soon as it becomes playable, you can start
00:43and it'll just keep downloading in the background as you play.
00:46Zach, playing games is a little different on Xbox One.
00:48Explain that.
00:49Yeah, I mean, one of the things we really focused on
00:51when we designed this console is making everything faster.
00:55So let's imagine I was playing that game
00:57that you were talking about downloading
00:58and I come back the next day.
01:00You're going to be able to get into that really quickly.
01:02So I say Xbox On, the system will turn on very fast.
01:05So I can just jump right back into that game
01:07and it resumes right where I was.
01:09So it's really going to change how people think about playing games.
01:13Now it makes it really possible to drop in,
01:15play a game for 10 minutes just while I have a break
01:17and leave and go do something else.
01:19Emily, Xbox One is all about personalization.
01:22What does that mean when I sign in?
01:23Well, one of the really exciting things that we're doing
01:25is we're allowing people to be biometrically recognized.
01:28So what that means is when you first sign in,
01:30you say, oh, I want to be recognized by Kinect.
01:33From then on, every time you come in front of the Xbox
01:35and engage with it somehow,
01:37it will recognize that it's you
01:38and show you your home with your content
01:40and the recent things that you've done.
01:42So you don't even need to pick up your controller.
01:44You know, if you have it set up,
01:45you can walk in the room.
01:48Hello, Major Nelson.
01:49Right, yeah.
01:49If you turn on your Xbox and you're in front of it,
01:51then it will recognize you
01:53and you'll be right there at your content.
01:55I actually think this gets even cooler
01:56when you have multiple people in the room, too.
01:59So if Emily and I were together,
02:00I could have Xbox One show me my home screen.
02:03She could tell Xbox One to switch to her home,
02:05and then we'd see her home screen
02:07and all of her personalized content.
02:09And that's all because Kinect can see who I am,
02:12can see who she is,
02:13and know the difference when I'm talking versus she is.
02:15Emily, tell us about pins.
02:17Pins are really cool because you can choose the content
02:19that you want to access quickly all the time,
02:22and you can put it right there
02:23on the first level of the user interface.
02:24So, for example, you can have musicians that you like,
02:27you can have TV shows or movies pinned,
02:30you can have your favorite games pinned,
02:31and websites that you go to often.
02:34Yeah, and I think bringing that into the world
02:36where we have multitasking makes this even cooler, right?
02:39Like, I can open up Internet Explorer
02:41and then have music sitting there on the side,
02:43me playing in the background while I'm browsing the web.
02:45And then I can switch over to watching a movie.
02:47Boom, then a friend pops online,
02:49I can go and resume that game that resumes really quickly, right?
02:52So I'm able to just bounce around,
02:53and because the system has all those content options on it,
02:57you can really do anything you're interested in.
02:59So whether it's games, TV, music, movies, sports, all of it,
03:03you have instant access to it,
03:04and you can switch amongst it real quick.
03:06That's right. It's going to be awesome.
03:07So I'm really excited to see what game makers are going to do
03:10once they have this in their hands.
03:12I'm pumped for everyone to get their Xbox,
03:14open it up, and check it out.
03:17And I'll see you next time.
