00:00What was that time in your life where you reached a comfortable enough point?
00:04I'm not talking about living a fancy lifestyle or hitting it big or anything,
00:08but the one we always used to say back in the day was like when you could get the guac
00:12at Chipotle
00:13and not have to worry about the extra whatever it is, two bucks, whatever they charge for that stuff now.
00:19What was that time where you got to that point of luxury?
00:23Luxury looks different for everyone.
00:25Is there a moment in your life where you think of like, okay, now I've made it.
00:29Or, you know, I'm a little more comfortable now.
00:31I don't have to worry about this anymore or that or whatever it might be.
00:34Oh, it's definitely when I got a cleaning lady for the first time.
00:38There you go.
00:38That's a good one.
00:39The house is a little too big to clean on your own, right?
00:44I'm not to like tidy up and to make it neat, but to really clean it well, like it's tall,
00:51so you can't really get up to the ceiling, you know?
00:55Yeah.
00:56So it's one of those types of things where you get a clean.
00:58I have since stopped with the cleaning lady, but for a while, for about a year and a half,
01:06two years stretch there, I had a cleaning lady.
01:07That's a nice.
01:08She'd come every other week or so.
01:10Yeah, that's a nice luxury.
01:11That's a good one.
01:12Yeah.
01:13You can let us know on the text line, too.
01:14713-572-4610.
01:17When did you reach that point of luxury in your life?
01:20What was it?
01:21Have the Texans gotten there?
01:22And what I mean by it is now for the Wyatt Teller signing, I don't know, you look around
01:26this roster, I don't know if I see a big hole on this team right now for the Texans that
01:30still needs addressing.
01:31I know on the text line, someone said they still need to add more pieces to the offensive
01:35line.
01:35Honestly, maybe this is crazy of me.
01:37When we talk about the Texans, I actually feel pretty good about this offensive line
01:40right now.
01:41Well.
01:42Uh-oh.
01:42Maybe I am being crazy.
01:44No, I feel good about the idea that they've added the pieces.
01:49It all just remains to be seen.
01:51They're not going to play football for a while, right?
01:53So we'll see how it all works out.
01:55But they definitely have the pieces.
01:57You know, I think we should.
01:59Like, I was excited about the Wyatt Teller sign, and I still am.
02:02I think it's a big deal.
02:03I'm good with what they've done.
02:06But I've seen this movie before, I feel like.
02:09And so I want to see it actually play out.
02:11I give them credit for not doing the thing that I was afraid that they were going to
02:16do, which is not take it all the way seriously or think that they were the smartest guys in
02:20the room and that they were just going to be able to piece it together with has-beens
02:24or the, you know, whatever was a cast away from another team and that sort of thing.
02:29Which, you could say that that's what this is, but we understand Wyatt Teller's an accomplished
02:34player, certainly as a run blocker.
02:36The guys that they got fit the identity of what they want to be.
02:40So, I'm bullish on it, but I still want to see it, you know?
02:44So, but I'm with you, though, on that the offensive line is no longer, you can definitely, whether
02:48you want to call it a luxury or not, you can definitely pivot now from what your priority
02:53would have been with your top pick in the draft or what your priority is in remaining
02:57in free agency or in the trade market.
02:59Right.
02:59Yeah.
03:00And that's why I do view it as like a luxury.
03:01Like, whatever you do the rest of the way, if you still have more money in the salary cap
03:04and you want to go sign somebody you like out there, I don't think you have to go target
03:07like, oh, we need a running back or we need this offense alignment.
03:11Well, you could go get, if there's a good player on the market that you think can help
03:14you, you can spend some money on them, assuming that they have it in the cap.
03:17Same thing in the draft.
03:18And we talked about this a little bit with Clint, but similar idea where I'm always draft
03:22for need and I don't buy into this draft best available player.
03:27But again, in this case, I don't know if there is that need for the Texans that when
03:30you come up on the draft board, you can kind of take the best player or even maybe draft
03:34for like the future.
03:35Get that guy that will take over for when another guy leaves.
03:38Maybe I'm getting out in front of my skis, but I feel like the Texans have done a good
03:41enough job this off season to plug all these gaps and question marks that now you can
03:45operate either for beyond this season or just to further supplement this team with those
03:51luxurious types of additions here the rest of the way this off season.
03:54Is it too boring to suggest that you balance the need with the availability?
04:00Like you try to, you try to match it if, if you can, right?
04:05Like if it's perfectly possible, it's totally possible.
04:09I should say that you don't need a cornerback, right?
04:15You don't, so you don't need a cornerback and there's just cornerbacks available, right?
04:18Like that, that sort of thing.
04:19But I think the Texans have three noticeable needs that I would mention.
04:25And so if one of these three needs are there, you get to decide how much you want to prioritize
04:31which or how you want to rank the needs.
04:33But I think they have three spots where they could stand to upgrade, especially now to
04:37your luxury point, that offensive line doesn't, isn't as glaring as it isn't glaring at all.
04:42Certainly not as glaring as it was before.
04:44Those needs to me are interior defensive line.
04:48I do agree with you there.
04:48Defensive tackle.
04:50Jake Andrews is still the center.
04:52Now, Evan Brown has a chance to compete there, but I don't think we know exactly what their
04:56plan is for Evan Brown, whether it's to compete for a backup center, just be the backup guard.
05:03He's got starter experience.
05:05I don't know what's going on there.
05:06So, do you need to bring in another center?
05:08And then, you could argue this is even more important than all of it, because D'Amico
05:14and Matt Burke and Rod Reich and Coach seems like any interior defensive lineman, and they
05:21seem to love Jake Andrews for better and or worse.
05:25But there's not enough speed on this offense.
05:29Like the guy that sits in this chair normally, Clint Sterner, has talked about this plenty,
05:32but there isn't, he's right about this, there is not enough explosivity.
05:38It is not there.
05:40It is lacking.
05:41So, like, they've got some guys, but I think they could do a lot to, I think a priority now
05:49should be speed on the offense, becoming faster, having a guy, Clint's talked about this, having
05:56a guy that can, you know, you can throw a screen to him and he's going to hit his head
06:00on the
06:00goalpost, as Clint likes to say.
06:01Like, right, they do not have a whole lot of that.
06:05They got some solid players, but that's a thing I would prioritize.
06:08Like, I hadn't had, when it was just offensive line, I hadn't thought about, oh, is there
06:13a receiver there that you might be able to get?
06:16You know, is there, you know, what, what, the, Tyler, what's your guy from, from A&M?
06:23Concepcion.
06:24Oh, yeah.
06:24Like, is that, is somebody like that going to be available to you?
06:27I didn't, I wasn't even considering something like that before, but now I'd be open to them
06:31even drafting a wide receiver with their first pick, and I would have thought that was blasphemous
06:35about a week ago or two weeks ago.
06:37Right.
06:38But now I'm with it.
06:39So, I think those are the three needs.
06:41Defensive tackle, center, and some sort of weapon.
06:45I don't care exactly what position it is.
06:47You get to decide how you're going to use it.
06:49A weapon of some sort.
06:51Those are the priorities.
06:52And I think once you get to the board, there should be some, something that looks like that
06:57available to you.
06:58Yeah.
06:58Yeah.
06:59And I don't disagree with you.
07:00I just think when it comes to the defense, like, I feel like we were having a similar
07:02conversation about the D-line last year, and it's just like, this defense is so good around
07:06it that I think, you know, you'll be fine.
07:09The center, yeah, I'm with you, but I think it's an area where you can, if you could upgrade
07:14if possible, but I still have enough faith in this offensive line, which give it a few
07:18months, I'll probably be proving an idiot.
07:20And then the speed, I do agree with you.
07:22But I think I view that, you and Clint might disagree, like, more of that quote-unquote luxury
07:29as opposed to a necessity type of deal, that now that the other things are addressed, now
07:34you can try to bolster that as well.
07:35You watch the offense, though, right?
07:37Oh, yeah.
07:37Like, who scares you?
07:39Like, if you're, you grew up a Giants fan, right?
07:42No.
07:42I grew up a Vikings fan.
07:43That's right.
07:44Okay, so that's right.
07:45A Vikings fan.
07:46Yeah.
07:46Okay, so the Vikings are playing the Texans, let's just say.
07:51Yeah.
07:52Who scares you on the Texans offense?
07:54Nico Collins.
07:55Right.
07:56Aside from the one obvious guy.
07:58No, yeah, that's...
07:59That's it, right?
08:00You know, so I feel like they need at least one more guy like that where when the Vikings
08:06fans come in or when we go to Minnesota or whatever it is, whatever place it is, they're
08:11like, man, watch out for that guy.
08:13I feel like Tank Dale was one of those guys before the injury.
08:15Yes.
08:15You know, and he has a chance to be that again as he's coming back.
08:18But those other two positions that I mentioned are more of numbers issues.
08:23Like, you just don't have enough bodies, I feel like, at defense.
08:25You need at least another and probably a couple more for camp.
08:29So you need to take a couple swings at defensive tackle and the center position as well.
08:33There's not enough people there.
08:35So one of my priorities was to, like, minimize competition.
08:38I thought that was getting kind of corny.
08:39Let's compete.
08:40Let's compete.
08:40No, let's get guys that you know aren't competing, that you know are going to be in those positions.
08:44But these are places where they could stand to bring in some competition.
