00:00It's crunch time in terms of preparations as the TNT Red Force squad is expected to be
00:05named soon for the regional 40 tournament.
00:07Tobago-born Joshua James is also doing what's required of him with the hope of making the
00:12cut.
00:13I think the preparation has been good so far, training three days a week, coming in hitting
00:19the right spot with the ball, using different variations and with the bat, just focusing
00:25on hitting the ball more on the ground.
00:40James has high expectations from TNT in the red ball format, but at the same time, he
00:46knows there are some tough sides out there.
00:49I think, yeah, Guyana is always a hard challenge for the tournament, even Barbados, but I think
00:56once we play the cricket we know how to play, we can compete with all the teams.
01:00James, who recently turned 25, picked up 16 wickets from seven first class games last year.
01:06And he's aiming big, which means he's working towards donning the maroon cap one day.
01:21Regarding his cricket, where did it all start for James?
01:24Back in Tobago, when I was in Wimandakan Primary School with Coach Brung, every evening he
01:31just used to come and pick me up and tell me, you have a good talent, I want to work
01:35with
01:35you.
01:35And from there, the cricket just takes on.
01:38Do you still get to meet him?
01:40Yeah, every time I go to Tobago, and there's the coach on me and the club team in Tobago,
01:44Scarborough Missingham.
01:44From 13 first class games, James has 26 wickets, plus 150 with a willow.
01:51We know now on the Chiefs Export.
