00:00Trinidad and Tobago's cricketers were putting in the final touches ahead of
00:03the new regional Super 50 season. Being defending champions and also playing at
00:07home, expectations are high. According to keeper batter Amir Jangu, the squad
00:12selected is capable of getting the job done. I think we have a very balanced team. I think
00:17the selectors, they came up with a very good job. They have a good amount of batsmen
00:22and bowlers as well, as well as all-rounders. So once everyone come together and play
00:26as a team, I think we'll do really well. There are eight teams in the tournament,
00:30including TNT Red Force. Barbados, CCC, Guyana, Jamaica, Leewards, Wynwards and
00:36West Indies Academy make up the rest, with Jangu taking no one lightly. To be
00:41honest, I think 50 of our cricketers played on the day. I think most teams in the
00:45regional tournament are very strong. So I think the cricketers just played on the day,
00:48no matter the team that we play against. We just have to play our best cricket on
00:52the day and play as a team and we should be okay. Many players would have their
00:55goals set for the tournament starting October 29th. So what is Jangu hoping to
01:00achieve? To be honest, I just want to perform to the best of my ability. I didn't
01:04really have a specific goal last season for my four-day cricket. So this year I
01:08just want to do the same, perform to the best of my ability with bats and as well
01:12as wicketkeeping and I should be alright. It was serious business as well for
01:16former TNT player turned assistant coach Riyad Emrit. In the absence of coach
01:20David Furlong, the team was training under the watchful eye of Emrit on
01:24Tuesday morning. Preparation has been going well. The only disadvantage that we
01:30have, we don't have outdoor practice as much as we want to. We were hoping to have an
01:34outdoor session today. Unfortunately, beyond our control, the weather didn't
01:39play our part. So we just have to make use of the indoor facilities and get as
01:44much as we can out of it. Team chemistry is an important ingredient which can
01:48lead to success. As far as that area is concerned, Emrit has given it the thumbs
01:53up. The players who have been selected, they have been around for a while. The only
01:58new inclusion is Joshua James and he has been around the setup. So I think the
02:04chemistry has been there. It's good. We are a family. We play as a family and
02:09the guys, they really gel together. So it's nothing new in the Red Force setup. I
02:14think we have a good chemistry with the players and the coaching staff. Matches
02:18will be played at the Queens Park Oval, UE Spec and Brian Lara Cricket Academy.
