While everyone is focusing on the CPL, let's spare a moment for our very own Team Red Force.

The defending champs are preparing for the 2024 Regional Super50, which will be played in T&T.

We met up with coach David Furlonge during training in Couva.
Transcript
00:00Trinidad and Tobago Red Force are preparing to defend their regional Super 50 crown.
00:05As such, preparations were taking place at the National Cricket Centre.
00:08The side has won two titles under coach David Furlong, who is hoping to add another one.
00:13So far, he has been satisfied with the training sessions.
00:16Preparations, you know, we make the best of what we have, you know, we've been trying
00:21to get some venues to practice outside.
00:23We had the opportunity today to practice outside for the first time in the nets in the cricket
00:29centre here.
00:30So, we're trying to get a couple of venues where we could play a couple of practice matches,
00:36hopefully next week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
00:39You know, that the fellas could get some match practice and see, you know, if the fellas
00:44could make themselves available for selection when that comes about.
00:49It's left to be seen if TNT will have a strong squad, since some of the players are expected
00:53to be on wide ball duty with West Indies team.
00:55Furlong says for now, the 15 contracted players, along with some under-19 cricketers, are in
01:00training.
01:01But currently, you know, we have Evan Lewis training with us, we have Jason Mohamed training
01:06with us.
01:07We, you know, basically, those are the two senior players, you know, along with Otley,
01:13who has had two good seasons in the last two years, two good 50-over seasons in the last
01:18two years.
01:19So, that, you know, we're working with what we have at the moment.
01:24We should have the CPL guys back week after next.
01:29As was the case last year, the tournament is being hosted in Trinidad at the Queens
01:33Park Oval, UE Spec and the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.
01:37Furlong says playing at home should hopefully give Team Red Force some sort of advantage.
01:41Well, I say we want a tournament playing here, you know, so that it is always a plus playing
01:47especially in front of your home crowd, you know, so hopefully we could win again this
01:52year, you know, with the support of the public and so on.
01:56Hopefully they come out after, especially after the CPL has just finished.
02:01But it's a plus, you know, you have the wickets and so there that we know.
02:05TNT beat Leeward Islands Hurricanes in November's final last year to make it their 14th 50-over
02:10title, which is the most for any team at regional level.
