00:00And did, did that go away ever? Has it gone away since you got into broadcasting? You know, when you had those five to 10 years in broadcasting, was there a time in which you're like, you know what, I feel like my confidence is coming back a little bit, but I found a sense of purpose maybe in broadcasting that, that, that is pulling you more towards this versus wanting to continue to, to chase the competitive game, which, I mean, it doesn't surprise me either.
00:28The fact that you played so much golf, it probably was refreshing to get into broadcasting in a lot of ways. And the pressure was a lot less, obviously you understand now you've been doing this for a few years. It's a different style of pressure. Here we are talking to millions of people, hopefully, you know, millions of people on your podcast.
00:48But it's, it's a different type of pressure. We're just doing what we're comfortable and what we know. When you're trying to compete and hit a tee shot off the first tee at Augusta National with millions of people watching on TV and thousands of people there in the galleries, when, when you're doing it well, you're showing off. When you're doing it poorly, you're fearful.
01:11And that's, that's the big difference. I think I'm now, uh, well, obviously it's, it's 30 years on, but I don't have any of that anxiety off the tee anymore. I never miss a fairway. Mind you, I only hit it 250 yards as well. So it's like a, it's like a, you're five iron.
01:28So you're telling me that you're, you're telling me that there's light at the end of the tunnel. That's what I need to hear.
01:34I figured it out over a couple of years. I went and played the colonial a couple of times. Um, when I, in my forties, I shot 67 the first day, one time, and then I was playing really nicely. I was going to make the cut and I, I hit a hook on one hole. I think it was the fifth and made seven and missed the cut by a couple of shots.
01:51So I at least proved to myself that I could still play a little bit at that level, but, um, the security of the job at ABC at that time. And now for the last 20 years, CBS, uh, when I got to 50, I was offered a four year extension on my contract. And I said to Jenny, do I give the champions tour a go or do I stay with TV? And we decided that it was, uh, much, much better to stay with television, which I did.
