00:00When I looked at your stats over the last couple years, if there was a place to nitpick
00:05or in those years, you would call them mediocre, the stats that jumped out to me was the
00:10putting.
00:11Now, when you go look at it as a whole, you had, you know, very positive.
00:15Weeks, it just felt like it was fairly inconsistent, like you would have a pop week and then you'd
00:19have kind of two off.
00:20For you, like over those two years, what do you feel like you were working on in your
00:24processes?
00:25To be able to get to a point in 2025 where you showed so much improvement.
00:30You know, sometimes things like, you know, it doesn't happen overnight sometimes.
00:33Like what were some of the keys?
00:35For you to kind of get you over the hump to where consistency started to come.
00:39Yeah, I think.
00:40I think it's a matter of experimentation through those couple of years.
00:44You know, I.
00:45I tried to.
00:46I tried basically every grip under the sun to get rid of, you know.
00:50Yeah.
00:50Any kind of, like, hesitation or, you know, anger.
00:55Yeah.
00:55Anxiety over the ball.
00:57And I was able to do that.
01:00Like.
01:00Like, you know, I putted claw and I never had any issues.
01:02Really.
01:03I just wasn't great.
01:04And I feel like I always.
01:05Always came back to thinking that my best putting weeks were conventional.
01:10And.
01:11And.
01:12So I.
01:13It just took me a couple of years to get.
01:15Get through.
01:16You know, thinking that maybe I couldn't do that anymore.
01:19That I had to be.
01:20Clark.
01:20Or I had to put cross hand it there.
01:21Whatever it was.
01:22And.
01:23Um.
01:24It.
01:25It just took some experimentation to get back to that.
01:28And then also get to a place.
01:30Mechanically.
01:31Where.
01:32I didn't have the same feelings.
01:33And I also.
01:34Was.
01:35Very comfortable doing.
01:36What.
01:37Needed to happen to move the putter properly.
01:39Mm.
01:40So.
01:40So I don't think it was necessarily flipping a switch
01:43and all of a sudden I was a great putter this year.
01:44It was a lot.
01:45Things I learned over the course of those two years.
01:46You know, we went through a period of trying to make
01:50Aimpoint perfect.
01:52And, you know, I'm a bit.
01:55Kind of number oriented.
01:56I've always been decent at math and like that kind of thing.
02:00And I tried really hard to figure it out and try to make it exact.
02:04And I just.
02:05And looking back, I mean, it was to me such a ridiculous thing to try.
02:10To do, I mean, you can't measure perfectly.
02:11You don't know exactly how far you are from the hole.
02:13It was kind of.
02:15It was insane to try to actually go through and make it work.
02:18Yeah.
02:18And that was some of the.
02:20You know, it was in the process of trying to do that.
02:22And so you're just thinking, just thinking so much like.
02:25You're not really in that flow creative state.
02:27You're almost.
02:28Right.
02:28Just very.
02:30Hands-on, like, scientific almost.
02:33Yeah.
02:33I mean, I was trying to figure.
02:35Out a way that I could not miss re-a-putt, you know, and I, it just, it doesn't happen.
02:39So some.
02:40Some of it is, is kind of abandoning that.
02:42Some of it is on the mental side, just becoming.
02:45More accepting of what happens.
02:46Realizing that putting can be stupid.
02:48You can hit the best putt.
02:50You know, twice in a row and one of them misses left, one of them misses right.
02:52And it's not because you get a bad putt or you read it.
02:55It just didn't go in.
02:57So some of it's that.
02:58And then some of it is just.
03:00Purely mechanical.
03:00I'm just mechanically better than I was.
03:04And.
03:05What were the mechanics?
03:05What were some of the changes that you guys worked on?
03:08Uh.
03:10It's, it's all set up really.
03:12Um.
03:12Always is, right?
03:13Yeah.
03:14Just.
03:15It's pretty much for good players.
03:17It always seems pretty much where you, where you put your head.
03:19Uh.
03:20And making sure that you're square, you know, it's, it's nothing complicated.
03:23It just, it is.
03:25One of those things that takes time to make it comfortable, I think.
03:29And if you're.
03:30If you're not comfortable at putting on the golf course, you're thinking about mechanics
03:33and you're not thinking about rolling a ball.
03:35A ball, I think it's not.
03:36That's one.
03:37One of those things that took.
03:37That takes time to figure out.
03:51That, that took time to.
03:53That took time to figure out how many personnel can trickle their티عم came.
03:58And because that was definitely tough.
03:59That kicked Ос!
04:00this past year at the cognizant classic and first of all the day i started on 10.
04:05um it's kind of a dog right par five hit it in the fairway
04:10i think i hit the fairway anyway i ended up just over the green to the back left bin
04:13chipped it like four and a half feet by
04:15and the first part of the day is like uphill into the grain a little bit right to left which
04:20for me is always where i felt like i struggled yeah oh really that's the one that i yeah that's
04:24that's the one i just
04:25i feel like i always hit too soft um and kind of just got up over it
04:30like well if it works here i'm kind of good to go and um so i just
04:35kind of i kept my head down i didn't look and uh made a good putt and that was i feel like
04:40the start of being able to really commit to what i did the rest of the year
04:45so when i look back you know it really
04:50it shouldn't matter whether i made that putt or not but looking back i mean that was that was a
04:54step for me it was it was
04:55a big step in learning to trust what i thought was right
04:58interesting and kind of refining that through them
05:00that through them at the end of the year
